“Won’t Let BJP Create Another Ayodhya”: Joseph Vijay’s TVK Thirupparankundram Candidate CTR Nirmal Kumar Opposes Lighting Of Karthigai Deepam Atop Murugan Temple Hill?

CTR Nirmal Kumar, a candidate of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and a former BJP social media functionary who later joined the AIADMK before shifting to TVK, has alleged that police deliberately created disorder during his party’s campaign events and has sought intervention from the Election Commission.

Addressing reporters, Nirmal Kumar said his party had begun its nomination process following the announcement of candidates across all 234 constituencies, with its leader filing nomination from Perambur and senior leaders following suit.

“See, yesterday our leader announced candidates for all 234 constituencies. And today our leader has started the nomination process, he has filed his nomination for Perambur today. After that, most of our senior leaders have also filed their nominations today. In the coming days, all of our party cadres and candidates will file their nominations,” he said.

He further alleged that the party’s campaign launch was disrupted due to lack of police presence despite prior permission and large crowds.

“Our leader also started his campaign today. And we could see a lot of issues during the campaign, the police created a ruckus there… there were massive crowds but no police available, due to which it became complete chaos,” he said.

Claiming the situation was intentional, he added, “We believe this was deliberately engineered by the police. They wanted issues to happen. And this was completely backed by DMK and DMK-allied officers.”

Nirmal Kumar said the party has submitted complaints to both the Election Commission of India and the State Election Commission seeking transfer of officials concerned.

“Our leader also started his campaign today. And we could see a lot of issues during the campaign; the police created a ruckus there. After the campaign started, none of the police were present at the place, even though there was a huge, large gathering. You should have seen it on live TV, there were massive crowds but no police available, due to which it became complete chaos. We believe this was deliberately engineered by the police. They wanted issues to happen. And this was completely backed by DMK and DMK-allied officers. Condemning this, we sent a strong message and statement to both the National Election Commission and the State Election Commission, asking for a transfer of the officers behind this. When the campaign started, the entire event was left with no police – no one to control or regulate the crowd. They were trying to create an incident. We believe this was backed by DMK. That is why we have sent a complaint to both election commissions, he stated.

He also questioned the rationale behind citing the Chief Minister’s schedule, adding, “And see, he is not the CM now. He is an ex-CM and he is just one candidate. If he is coming at a separate time, they should manage that separately. We had got our time slot approved. They cannot say the CM has a schedule and use that to shift our programme. That creates unnecessary chaos and problems. They wanted to create problems in our campaign, due to which two of our programme points were missed today. They want this to happen at every place. We completely condemn this and want the Election Commission to transfer all these corrupt officers.”

On the Thirupparankundram incident, Nirmal Kumar alleged political motives behind tensions.

“See, Thirupparankundram, you all know… The people of Tamil Nadu, all people of Tamil Nadu, want peace. This was deliberately created by DMK. They made this happen, and it was also organized on one side by BJP. These two parties want to create an emotional issue and run this election on that basis. Nowhere in Tamil Nadu will people allow this. Tamil Nadu people always want peace. We want to go back to how things were in Thirupparankundram two years ago – that same peaceful stand should be maintained. We don’t want any emotional issues to be created. We don’t want BJP to create another Ayodhya here, and we don’t want DMK to create another Manjolai incident here. All these parties should step out of emotional issues. We want peace in Tamil Nadu.”

Responding to a question on campaigning, he confirmed that TVK leader Vijay would campaign in the region.

“Sure, 100% our leader will come. He will definitely come for a campaign there,” he said.

Nirmal Kumar is contesting from Thirupparankundram as a TVK candidate in the upcoming Assembly elections.

‘Stalin Doesn’t Know Hindi Or English, His Aukaat Is With Dravidian People Only’, Says Congress Leader Mani Shankar Aiyar

'Stalin Doesn't Know Hindi Or English, His Aukaat Is With Dravidian People Only', Says Congress Leader Mani Shankar Aiyar

Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has sparked a political controversy after a video clip of his remarks on opposition alliance leadership went viral, drawing sharp reactions across party lines.

In the clip, Aiyar is heard discussing the leadership dynamics within the I.N.D.I. bloc and the prospects of government formation after the next general election.

“Now, Stalin also doesn’t know English or Hindi, his leadership and his standing (aukaat) is only among the Dravidian people. Now if he is made [Prime Minister], then when the alliance wins, who will become Prime Minister? Rahul Gandhi, is he the chief of the alliance or not?”

He further stated: “And I give you a 100% assurance that the I.N.D.I Alliance will form the government under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. And at that time I would want our Home Minister to be Shri Digvijay Singh.”

The remarks have drawn particular attention for what critics described as a dismissive tone toward Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, with political opponents highlighting the phrase interpreted as questioning his suitability for the Prime Minister’s post.

The comments were reportedly made in the presence of senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, whose name was also mentioned by Aiyar in the context of a potential future government.

Pro-Congress X Handle ‘Dr Nimo Yadav 2.0’ Who Made A Living Out Of Abusing PM Modi Claims Loss Of Livelihood After Govt Withholds Account

Pro-Congress Pro-Islamist X Handle ‘Dr Nimo Yadav 2.0’ Claims Livelihood Gone After Govt Withholds Account

The Delhi High Court was informed that the pro-Congress pro Islamist X handle “Dr Nimo Yadav” has been withheld in India following a blocking order issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on March 18 under the Information Technology Act.

As reported in Bar and Bench, the submission was made by X before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav during the hearing of a petition filed by Prateek Sharma, who operates the account and has sought access to the government’s blocking order.

According to documents placed before the Court, the government directed the blocking of the account on the grounds that it was allegedly spreading false narratives involving the Prime Minister and portraying him in poor taste. The order also cited the use of manipulated images, videos and AI-generated content in posts that were deemed defamatory and capable of affecting public order and internal security.

The materials, described as confidential, were shared with both the Court and the petitioner.

In his plea, Sharma argued that the continued blocking of the account has caused loss of income and disrupted his professional engagements, stating that the handle served as a primary source of livelihood.

The Court was further informed that, along with Sharma’s account, 11 other X handles were also blocked under the same March 18 order issued under the IT Act.

Counsel for the petitioner submitted that if specific offending content had been identified and communicated, corrective steps could have been taken. The government’s counsel sought time to examine whether a mechanism exists to address the grievance.

Justice Kaurav granted time to the Centre and posted the matter for further hearing next week.

CNN-News18 Poll Shows NDA Winning In Tamil Nadu

Matrize Opinion Poll Puts NDA Alliance Ahead Of DMK In Tamil Nadu

A recent opinion poll by CNN News18 on Tamil Nadu’s electoral landscape has indicated a sharply competitive contest for the Chief Minister’s post, with AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami marginally closing the gap with incumbent MK Stalin. The survey recorded a near tie, with Stalin at 40% and Palaniswami at 39%, reflecting a tightening race.

The poll further suggested that actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has seen a slight dip in support, remaining below 14%. Analysts noted that if TVK’s vote share remains in the 12–13% range, it may not significantly disrupt the electoral balance. However, a rise toward 16–18% could split votes across both major alliances.

In terms of vote share trends, the AIADMK alliance has shown recent gains, edging past the DMK. This shift has been attributed to early candidate announcements, finalized seat-sharing arrangements, and the release of its manifesto ahead of rivals. The BJP’s allocation of 27 seats within the alliance is also seen as reducing perceptions of central dominance, reinforcing regional leadership under Palaniswami.

On key voter concerns, issues such as alcoholism and drug abuse emerged as the most significant, outweighing debates on federalism and language.

Seat projections place the AIADMK-led NDA alliance in a leading position with an estimated 115–125 seats, while the DMK is projected to secure between 104 and 114 seats. The findings indicate a notable swing compared to earlier estimates, suggesting a shift in momentum away from the ruling DMK.

The survey, conducted with a sample size exceeding 16,000 respondents, also highlighted that governance performance remains a key voting factor, with public opinion sharply polarized on the DMK government’s track record.

Dravidian Model: 4-Month-Old Dies After Alleged Injection Mix-Up In Omandurar Govt Hospital; Police Accused Of Assaulting Protesting Family

4-Month-Old Dies After Alleged Injection Mix-Up In Omandurar Govt Hospital; Police Accused Of Assaulting Protesting Family

A four-month-old baby girl died at the Omandurar Government Hospital after being admitted for a cough and cold, with the family alleging serious medical negligence and procedural lapses by hospital staff.

According to the complaint, the infant was undergoing treatment for mild respiratory symptoms when a critical error allegedly occurred. Family members stated that two patients with similar names were admitted at the same time, leading to confusion. An injection intended for an older child was allegedly administered to the four-month-old infant, following which the baby’s condition deteriorated.

Relatives further alleged that hospital authorities did not inform them about the treatment procedures being carried out. They claimed that invasive medical intervention was performed without parental consent or explanation, and that they were asked to remain outside despite repeatedly seeking updates on the child’s condition. The baby later died after her breathing complications worsened.

The incident triggered protests outside the hospital, with family members and supporters demanding action against the medical staff involved. The situation escalated when police attempted to detain protesters, leading to a scuffle between the two sides.

During the confrontation, relatives alleged that police personnel used excessive force, including physical assault and manhandling of those gathered, including women. Concerns were also raised over the manner in which an advocate who had arrived to represent the family was detained and handled during the protest.

The family has demanded a formal investigation, accountability from the hospital administration, and legal action against those responsible for the alleged negligence. The incident has intensified scrutiny over patient safety protocols and emergency response procedures in government hospitals.

Dravidian Model: 14-Yr-Old MP Boy Dies 5 Months After Sexual Assault At Chennai Railway Station; 2 Accused Still At Large

14-Yr-Old MP Boy Dies 5 Months After Sexual Assault At Chennai Railway Station; 2 Accused Still At Large

A 14-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who was the victim of a brutal sexual assault at Chennai Central Railway Station late last year, has died following months of medical complications. The boy passed away on Sunday (29 March 2026) night at Government Stanley Hospital, where he had been readmitted due to a severe infection, as reported in Times of India.

The teenager, who had been living in Chennai for about a year and supporting himself by collecting rags near the railway station, was attacked on 27 November 2025. According to the initial complaint, two unknown men forced him into an empty train compartment on a platform and subjected him to repeated sexual assault before fleeing.

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) rescued the boy after receiving a call through the child helpline. He was initially treated at Stanley Hospital for severe injuries to his mouth, anus, and urinary tract. Following his initial treatment, he was placed in a government-run orphanage in Royapuram.

Officials stated that the boy’s medical condition required multiple follow-up visits to the hospital. His situation worsened last week when he developed complications, including a serious urinary infection, leading to his readmission. Despite medical efforts, he died on Sunday night.

Doctors informed the investigating officer, Woman Sub-Inspector P. Indravathi of the Government Railway Police (GRP), that the cause of death was directly linked to the injuries sustained during the November assault, which had led to the fatal infection.

Based on a complaint filed by Ajay, a DCPU official from Chennai North, the railway police had initially registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following the boy’s death, the GRP has altered the charges to include murder. A search operation to locate the two unidentified suspects is ongoing.

Joseph Vijay Gave Ticket To “Driver’s Son” Whose Father Sits As Director In His Real Estate Firm

Joseph Vijay Gave Ticket To ‘Driver’s Son’ - Father Sits As Director In His Real Estate Firm

On March 28, 2026, one of Tamil Nadu’s most viral moments of the entire election season was born on a stage. TVK chief Vijay called out a name, Sabarinathan, and the young man collapsed. Literally. He broke down weeping, fell at Vijay’s feet, and had to be held up. Vijay, visibly moved, stepped forward, wiped his tears, and embraced him. The father, a man who has been at Vijay’s side for over thirty years, watched on, overwhelmed.

Every news channel ran it. Every fan account shared it. The narrative wrote itself: the humble driver who served faithfully for three decades, whose son was now being lifted into public life by a grateful patron. Loyalty rewarded. The common man elevated.

It was perfect political theatre. And like most perfect political theatre in Tamil Nadu, it had a second act that nobody in the viral clip mentioned.

Vijay’s ₹640 crore affidavit disclosed facts about a real estate company called JayaNagar Property – a 30+ year business that Vijay has never mentioned in any speech, press conference, or political event. Tamil Nadu had no idea it existed. It existed anyway.

That alone is worth noting. A man who campaigns on transparency and clean governance was running a real estate business, one of the most corruption-prone sectors in India, in total public silence. The only reason it surfaced is because election law compels candidates to declare business interests in their affidavit. Without April 23, 2026, this company may never have been public knowledge.

But the company name is not even the sharpest part of this story. The sharpest part is who Vijay chose to list as its director.

Rajendran, Sabarinathan’s father, the former driver, the emotional figure at the centre of that stage moment, is a registered director of Vijay’s real estate company, Jayanagar Property Private Limited.

Not a shareholder. Not an employee. A director, alongside Vijay as Managing Director and Vijay’s wife Sangeetha as fellow director, of a company incorporated in 1995, active for thirty years, registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, last annual meeting held September 2025. As per records, Rajendran was made director in 2023.

Let us be precise about what this means. Rajendiran began as Vijay’s driver since his very first film and was later elevated to personal assistant. Along the way, he was placed on the board of his employer’s real estate company. And his son has now been handed a state assembly ticket by that same employer, who wiped the boy’s tears on camera in front of Tamil Nadu.

This is the complete picture. Not the crying. Not the embrace. Not the thirty years of loyalty. The complete picture is: a man whose son just received an MLA ticket from Vijay is simultaneously a director of Vijay’s private company.

Whether this constitutes a benami arrangement in the legal sense where a person holds a business interest on behalf of the real beneficial owner is a matter for investigators and courts. The Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amendment Act, 2016 provides the framework. No FIR has been filed. No court has ruled.

Vijay spent two years on campaign stages attacking crony capitalism, political dynasties, and the nexus of power and private interest. He promised a Tamil Nadu where tickets would go to merit, not connections; where public life would be clean, not transactional.

He then gave a state assembly ticket to the son of the man who sits on his company’s board of directors and made sure the cameras caught every tear.

The performance was flawless. The affidavit tells a different story.

Joseph Vijay, Who Promises A Drug-Free Tamil Nadu, Fields Ganja Case Accused As Candidate

Joseph Vijay, Who Promises A Drug-Free Tamil Nadu, Fields Ganja Case Accused As Candidate

If you want an example of the statement, ‘irony died a million deaths’, it could be the TVK candidate list that the party chief Joseph Vijay unveiled on 29 March 2026.

Among the ridiculous names that are on the list is a ganja-case accused as well.

Joseph Vijay who has been talking on and on about giving a drug-free Tamil Nadu, has given a ticket to a ganja-accused!

According to reports, Kandeeban was arrested in a ganja-related case and released on bail shortly before his candidature was announced. Residents have also alleged that multiple cases including serious charges such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, and kidnapping are pending against him.

He has been given a ticket for the Peravurani constituency.

Joseph Vijay, Who Positions Himself & TVK As A Crusader For Women’s Safety, Fields Sexual Harassment-Accused Candidate

Joseph Vijay, Who Positions Himself & TVK As A Crusader For Women’s Safety, Fields Sexual Harassment-Accused Candidate

A series of allegations have surfaced against candidates of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), the party led by Joseph Vijay, raising questions about its candidate selection process ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026.

In the latest development, a sexual harassment complaint has been filed against TVK’s candidate for the Poonamallee constituency, Prakasam Kutty. The complaint was submitted by a woman associated with the party’s women’s wing at the office of the Thiruvallur District Superintendent of Police, as reported in Tamil Samayam.

According to the complaint, the woman alleged that she had faced sexual harassment from the candidate and had previously brought the issue to the attention of the party leadership nearly six months ago. She stated that no action was taken at the time.

The controversy comes amid growing internal dissatisfaction within TVK, where several aspirants who were denied tickets have reportedly expressed displeasure. Protests have also been reported in multiple constituencies against candidates announced by the party.

TVK, which entered the political arena positioning itself as an alternative to both the DMK and the AIADMK, has also faced criticism over its candidate list. A significant number of its nominees are reported to be defectors from other parties, prompting questions about the party’s claim of representing political change.

With multiple allegations now emerging against its candidates, the latest complaint has intensified scrutiny on the party leadership. Observers have noted that Vijay, who has frequently spoken about women’s safety in public platforms, is yet to publicly respond to the issue.

Joseph Vijay’s ‘Safe Seat’ In Trichy East Could No Longer Be Safe

Joseph Vijay’s ‘Safe Seat’ In Trichy East Could No Longer Be Safe

For the first time in fifteen years, a Chief Ministerial candidate is contesting from within Trichy city. The last time this happened, it was Jayalalithaa who actually camped in Srirangam for days, walked its streets, and met its people. This time, it is TVK’s Joseph Vijay, contesting from Trichy East, and the comparison with Jayalalithaa is already working against him.

As reported in Times of India, sources familiar with TVK’s internal research revealed that the party did not pick Trichy East by accident. A pre-election study is said to have specifically identified the constituency for its compact size, significant minority presence, and strong Vellalar community – a profile tailor-made for Vijay’s “Joseph” Christian Vellalar image to do the heavy lifting, so the star himself would not have to.

It was, in other words, a constituency chosen for minimum effort and maximum return. The plan, however, is now unravelling.

DMK Saw Through It

TVK’s original calculation rested on the assumption that DMK would field a different candidate from Trichy East – one without the community overlap that would make the fight competitive. What TVK did not anticipate was that DMK would insist on renominating incumbent MLA Inigo Irudayaraj, the founder of Christhuva Nallenna Iyakkam, also a Vellalar Christian, also with deep minority roots, and with the added advantage of being a sitting legislator with local recognition.

Sources in the MLA’s camp stated plainly that any other candidate would have made Trichy East a cakewalk for Vijay. With Inigo in the race, it is no longer one.

AIADMK Plays the Counter

AIADMK has added a third layer of complexity by fielding G. Rajasekaran, a Hindu Vellalar, in a constituency where two of the three main candidates now carry the Christian Vellalar identity. A functionary in AIADMK’s Trichy urban unit said the party was banking on the possibility that Hindu Vellalars, finding neither DMK nor TVK speaking for them, would consolidate behind Rajasekaran.

It is a calculated gamble but not an unreasonable one.

Minorities Will Split, Hindus Will Decide?

Trichy East’s roughly two lakh voters are spread across 24 wards and 304 polling booths, with minorities making up approximately 36 percent of the electorate. In previous two-cornered contests between DMK and AIADMK, minority support both Christian and Muslim was the decisive factor.

That arithmetic has been permanently disrupted. A VCK councillor said that with the minority vote now expected to fracture between DMK and TVK, and with Dalit Christians already present in low numbers following post-2008 delimitation that moved a section of the minority vote bank to Trichy West, it was the Hindu vote – Konars, Mukkulathor, Mutharaiyar, and SC communities that would most likely determine the outcome.

The Absence Problem

The most pointed criticism circulating in Trichy East is not about ideology or caste – it is about basic physical presence. Both Inigo and Rajasekaran have registered themselves as local candidates. Vijay has not. Residents of Palakkarai noted that they were genuinely uncertain whether, if Vijay won, he would stay in the constituency at all or whether constituents would have to travel to Chennai to reach their MLA.

The Jayalalithaa contrast stings here too. Even she, contesting from Srirangam in 2011 – a superstar politician at the peak of her power camped in the city for days, toured the area, and held public meetings on the ground. Local opinion held that caste equations, religious tags, and star power were necessary but not sufficient to win an urban constituency with real civic problems such as traffic congestion, infrastructure gaps, unresolved local grievances that demand a representative who shows up.

Trichy East was chosen as Vijay’s safest second seat. It may end up being his most embarrassing result.
