Joseph Vijay Promised To End Drug Culture; Ganja-Intoxicated Gang Wreaks Havoc At Thoothukudi Petrol Station

Joseph Vijay Promised To End Drug Culture; Ganja-Intoxicated Gang Wreaks Havoc At Thoothukudi Petrol Station

TVK and Joseph Vijay came to power promising a drug-free Tamil Nadu. In fact, just after taking oath as Chief Minister, Vijay thundered, “This drug culture – to control it, what steps need to be taken, what efforts must be made, from today I will take those up. It is our government’s responsibility to save our youngsters from this.”

But nearly 3 weeks after coming to power, nothing seems to have changed.

A petrol station near Thoothukudi was vandalised and its employees attacked by an alleged gang of 10 men, reportedly under the influence of alcohol and ganja, after staff objected to one of them urinating near the fuel-dispensing area. CCTV footage of the incident has since surfaced and gone viral on social media, triggering concern over law and order in the district.

The incident took place at a petrol station located in the Arasadi area on the Thoothukudi–Rameswaram Road. According to police sources and the complaint filed by petrol station employee Saurav, three men arrived at the station on a two-wheeler at around 5 pm on Tuesday to refuel their vehicle, as reported in Tamil OneIndia.

While at the station, one of the men allegedly chose not to use the restroom facilities available on the premises and instead urinated near the fuel-filling area. A petrol station employee objected to the act and reportedly warned him not to urinate in the vicinity of the pumps.

Following the confrontation, the three men allegedly threatened the employee, telling him they would not spare him for questioning them, before leaving the spot.

Approximately an hour later, the trio allegedly returned with a larger group of around 10 individuals. The group then stormed into the petrol station and allegedly attacked employees using wooden clubs, knives and sickles.

The attackers also vandalised the petrol station office and damaged property within the premises before fleeing the scene. CCTV cameras installed at the station captured the entire sequence of events, including the assault and destruction of property.

Based on a complaint lodged by the petrol station employee, the Thalamuthu Nagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officers are examining the CCTV footage and have initiated a search operation to trace and arrest the suspects, who remain absconding.

The incident has drawn renewed attention to concerns over substance abuse in Tamil Nadu, particularly in light of Chief Minister Vijay’s pledge while assuming office to crack down on drug abuse among youth.

DMK Councillor’s Son Surrenders After Slashing Neighbour’s Family With Sickle In Mayiladuthurai

DMK Councillor's Son Surrenders After Slashing Neighbour's Family With Sickle In Mayiladuthurai

Three members of a family were injured in a sickle attack allegedly carried out by the son of a DMK councillor in Mayiladuthurai district, police said.

As reported in Tamil Hindu, the incident took place at Arupathumuvarpettai in South Street, where Selvam, a bank jewellery appraiser employed in Kumbakonam, lives with his family. According to preliminary information, Selvam’s wife Karpagam was collecting water from a public drinking water tap when she was allegedly attacked by Ashok, the son of DMK councillor Jayalakshmi Murugan, following a dispute between the two families.

When Selvam attempted to intervene and prevent the attack, he too sustained injuries. Their 14-year-old son, Kaviyarasan, was also injured while trying to protect his parents.

All three were rushed to the Mayiladuthurai Government Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, Karpagam was later referred to the Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital for advanced medical care.

Following the incident, Ashok surrendered before the Mayiladuthurai police. However, he reportedly claimed that members of Selvam’s family had attacked him with a knife. Police subsequently admitted him to the Mayiladuthurai Government Hospital for treatment.

It is reported that there had been frequent disputes between the two neighbouring families, particularly while collecting water from the public tap. Investigators suspect the latest confrontation may have escalated from those earlier quarrels.

The Mayiladuthurai police have launched an investigation to ascertain the sequence of events and determine the circumstances that led to the attack.

“Sports Is Tougher Than Farming,” Says TVK Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna; “Food Comes Before Sports,” Kasthuri Raja Hits Back

"Sports Is Tougher Than Farming," Says TVK Sports Minister; "Food Comes Before Sports," Kasthuri Raja Hits Back aadhav arjuna

A few days after Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna sparked controversy by describing sports as one of the most difficult professions after farming, film director Kasturi Raja appeared to take an indirect swipe at the minister while speaking at a private educational trust event in Chennai.

Aadhav Arjuna had triggered debate with a speech highlighting the challenges faced by athletes and calling for greater recognition and academic support for sportspersons. Speaking at an event, he said, “I have always made this observation, whether to eminent teachers or right here, regarding how society and the sports community perceive a student who scores 100% in Mathematics or Science. Today, I am making this point to society at large: if you were to take a high-achieving student, a boy or a girl, who consistently secures 100% marks through sheer academic merit, make them run for three hours early in the morning, and then send them to sit in a classroom, that academically brilliant student would simply collapse from exhaustion. So, where exactly is the recognition for sportsmen? Parents need to understand this: it is not easy. Next to agriculture, the most arduous field is the world of sports. I always draw a parallel between the two, viewing them as equals.”

He further said, “Consider this: an athlete wakes up at 5:00 AM and must be on the ground by 6:00 AM. If you observe their three-hour practice session, it involves jumping, running, and sprinting; they are made to run continuously for 40 minutes, then suddenly made to run up hills or climb stairs. After completing all this grueling physical labor, they head to school at 10:00 AM and sit right next to a student who excels academically – a student who woke up, rested, and arrived at school in a completely relaxed state, ready to study. Imagine the leg pain, the body aches, and the overwhelming fatigue the athlete feels; having already expended nearly 2,000 to 3,000 calories from their body that morning, they are practically sweating blood.”

Arguing that athletes required special academic support, the minister added, “Where does the mental resilience of such athletes begin to falter? It happens when they enter the academic realm, as they are unable to devote the necessary time and focus to their studies. That is precisely why I felt the need to speak with the Honorable Minister of School Education. It is a fundamental error to seat academically-focused students and athletes in the same classroom and expect them to study under identical conditions. Athletes require special attention. This special attention is crucial because, when they don the Tamil Nadu jersey, every single athlete is playing and competing on behalf of this very state. Therefore, it is unjust and indeed a mistake to withhold that special attention and instead compare them directly with other students.”

The remarks drew criticism and sparked discussion among farmers, political observers and social media users, many of whom objected to the comparison between agriculture and sports.

Against this backdrop, Kasturi Raja, while addressing a gathering in Chennai, emphasised the importance of agriculture and described farming as the backbone of the nation. Without naming Aadhav Arjuna directly, he argued that the strength required for sporting achievements ultimately came from the food produced by farmers, underscoring what many interpreted as a rebuttal to the minister’s earlier remarks.

He said, “Consider the immense importance accorded to cricket: the sheer number of security personnel deployed, the multi-crore turnover it generates, the political influence it wields, and the military resources allocated to it. Is even a fraction of this importance ever extended to agriculture? The farmer is, in truth, the god of the entire world; it is only because he provides food that a soldier can stand tall, chest out, and face the enemy’s fire. It is only because of him that a cricketer can hold a bat and play the game. If even a portion of those resources were invested in protecting agriculture, imagine the impact. I recently observed the manifestos released by various political parties including the newly formed ones and not a single one of them had anything specific to say regarding agriculture. If you were to incorporate agriculture into the curriculum you teach these students -emphasizing that no nation can truly prosper without it; it would make a world of difference. Agriculture is paramount.”

‘Thooya Sakthi’ TVK Magic? Former AIADMK Functionary Joins TVK; Closed TASMAC Shop Reopens Days Later

joseph Vijay Once Mocked “Bottle-Ku Pathu Rooba”; Now TASMAC Faces Fresh Extra Charge Allegations

Residents of Thirupparankundram in Madurai district have alleged that a TASMAC liquor outlet, which had earlier been shut down along with two other shops following public protests, has now resumed operations despite continuing opposition from the local community.

The liquor shops had been functioning near a girls’ school, a government hospital and the railway line, prompting residents to demand their closure. Following sustained protests, three TASMAC outlets in the area were reportedly shut down in the name of an order issued by Chief Minister Vijay’s government.

However, one of the closed outlets was reopened few days ago, triggering fresh anger among local residents. When questioned about the reopening, shop employees allegedly informed residents that no official closure order had been issued for the particular outlet.

The development has fuelled controversy after locals pointed out that the bar licence associated with the outlet is held by Selvam, a former AIADMK functionary who has since joined TVK. Residents have begun questioning whether political influence played a role in the outlet’s reopening, though no official explanation has yet been provided by either TASMAC authorities or the state government.

With the liquor shop continuing to operate near sensitive public institutions, residents have renewed their demand for its immediate closure and have called upon the district administration to clarify the circumstances under which the outlet was allowed to resume business.

From Easter Bombings To Secret Meetings: The Chilling Global Nexus Behind A ‘Welfare’ Petition

From Easter Bombings to Chennai Banquets: The Chilling Global Nexus Behind A 'Welfare' Petition

At first glance, it appeared to be a routine, inconsequential meeting in the corridors of Tamil Nadu’s political circles. A newly appointed cabinet minister from a key coalition party granted an audience to representatives of a specific socio-religious organization. Their primary agenda was a formal request for the state to sanction and implement “Interest-Free Banking.”

To the untrained eye, this was merely another petition framed under the guise of minority welfare. However, those orchestrating this meeting behind the scenes inadvertently left a glaring digital footprint, one that has led to the exposure of a chilling global conspiracy.

As investigators scrutinized the faces flanking the minister, the air in the room grew heavy. It has now been revealed that while this “welfare” petition was being handed over, a parallel “shadow summit” was taking place in Sri Lanka. The attendees of that secret gathering included internationally controversial figures whose ties stretch from the masterminds of bombings in neighboring nations to global terror-financing conduits blacklisted by the United Nations.

The Shadow Summit: When Arch-Enemies Dine Together

In the heart of a bustling Sri Lanka, tucked away from public scrutiny, a lavish banquet was organized. In attendance were senior political leaders, retired high-ranking officials, and a prominent minister of the ruling coalition. But it was the foreign guests at the table that triggered the Intelligence Bureau’s ‘Red Alert’ siren.

Seated side-by-side, sharing a meal and smiles, were two high-profile individuals from a neighboring country. Back home, these men are bitter, hereditary political rivals, leaders of factions whose cadres engage in violent street battles. Why would these polar opposites travel clandestinely to join hands? The answer lies in the “Third Man” at the table.

This intermediary is a high-level executive of a massive, Saudi-backed international Islamic federation. More alarmingly, he is a figure under intense global surveillance for his alleged deep-rooted links to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). It was under his directive that these two political rivals declared a truce on Indian soil.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by the profile of one of these guests: a politician previously arrested and incarcerated under anti-terrorism laws in connection with the horrific Easter Sunday bombings that devastated his home country.

The convergence of a terror-accused foreigner, his rival, and a shadow operative of a foreign intelligence agency with a Tamil Nadu minister is no coincidence. It is the blueprint of a foreign syndicate looking to establish a permanent foothold in the state.

The “Rabita” Nexus: Banking as a Front for the Underworld

The request for “Interest-Free Banking” and the secret Sri Lanka summit are not isolated events. They are the two ends of a single, dangerous thread.

The Saudi-linked executive present at the meeting, Dr. M.L.A.M. Hizbullah, is a high-ranking member of the Muslim World League, an organization headquartered in Saudi Arabia. From this entity emerged the Rabita Trust. While it may sound like a charitable foundation, the Rabita Trust has been officially designated by the UNSC (United Nations Security Council) and international monitors as a terror-financing conduit that has historically funneled funds to Al-Qaeda.

Connecting the dots reveals a terrifying picture: a key figure from an organization with a history of sanctioned terror-financing enters Chennai, meets with ruling coalition leaders, and simultaneously, a domestic push for “Interest-Free Banking” reaches a fever pitch.

The Question of National Security: Why is This Banking Model a Threat?

Standard Indian banking operates under the stringent oversight of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Every rupee moving through interest rates, bonds, and direct monitoring is traceable. Conversely, “Interest-Free” or Islamic Banking operates on a “Profit and Loss Sharing” (PLS) and asset-backed investment model.

The sophisticated loopholes within this specific financial structure allow for the movement of massive amounts of foreign capital while bypassing standard Anti-Money Laundering (AML) filters. In essence, the “Interest-Free” framework is the financial infrastructure required for international shadow players to flood Tamil Nadu with untraceable funds.

A Clarion Call for Vigilance

The minister in question may possess a clean political record and a reputation for philanthropy, but the international web being spun around his office is anything but innocent. Behind the seductive vocabulary of “development” and “alternative banking” lie the architects of foreign bombings and sanctioned financiers of global terror.

The implementation of this “Interest-Free” scheme must be halted. The perceived lack of experience within the new administration has created a vacuum that national security threats are eager to fill. The state government must unequivocally demonstrate that it stands on the side of national integrity to dispel these growing fears.

As central and state intelligence agencies, along with the RBI, tighten their net around these “shadow alliances,” one question remains: will Tamil Nadu remain a “Haven of Peace,” or is it being groomed to become a dangerous playground for international syndicates?

The stakes have never been higher.

10,500 Gelatin Sticks Hidden In Onion Lorry: NIA Raids Properties In Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur And Kasaragod

NIA Arrests One Person From Purasaiwakkam, Chennai During Raids Linked To ISIS Recruitment Network puducherry

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday (30 May 2026) conducted searches at multiple locations across Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts as part of its ongoing investigation into the seizure of a massive cache of explosives from Chemmad near Tirurangadi in Malappuram district earlier this year, as reported in OnManorama.

The raids began in the early hours of the morning at residences, business establishments and firms linked to the accused, as well as individuals suspected of having connections to the case. Searches were carried out in Tirurangadi and Vandoor in Malappuram district, Eranjimavu in Kozhikode district, and several locations in Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

According to NIA officials, the searches are part of efforts to uncover the wider network involved in the illegal transportation and intended use of the explosives. Investigators are examining firms owned by the accused and establishments linked to other suspects as part of the probe.

The case relates to the seizure of a huge quantity of explosives from a lorry disguised as an onion transport vehicle at Chemmad in February. Police recovered more than 10,500 gelatin sticks along with detonators and connecting wires concealed among sacks of onions in the vehicle.

Investigators found that around 245 boxes containing gelatin sticks, detonators and wires had been hidden inside the lorry, which had arrived at a brick-manufacturing unit on the night of February 6. Acting on a tip-off, police reached the location, prompting those unloading the consignment to flee the scene.

The following day, officials unloaded the cargo and discovered the explosives concealed among the onion sacks. Preliminary investigations revealed that the explosives had been transported into Kerala from another state. During the probe, police also took into custody a woman who owned the lorry and found that she was associated with a quarry unit.

Given the scale of the seizure and the questions surrounding the source, transportation and intended destination of the explosives, the NIA subsequently took over the investigation from the state police.

Officials said the agency is now focused on identifying the full network behind the operation, tracing the movement of the explosives and determining their intended use.

Joseph Vijay’s TVK’s Promises Likely To Remain On Paper, Will Take ₹1 Lakh Crore Yearly To Fully Implement A Few

Joseph Vijay's TVK's Promises Likely To Remain On Paper, Will Take ₹1 Lakh Crore Yearly To Fully Implement A Few

As the Joseph Vijay-led TVK government prepares to release a White Paper on Tamil Nadu’s finances, estimates suggest that fully implementing around a dozen major election promises could cost more than ₹1 lakh crore annually, raising fresh questions about the feasibility of several flagship welfare commitments, as reported in The Hindu.

According to senior government officials, the White Paper is in its final stages and is expected to be released within days. The document was promised by Vijay soon after taking office, when he accused the previous DMK government of leaving behind an “empty treasury.” Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson recently indicated that the report would be ready shortly, with the government now considering presenting it in the Assembly.

The move comes as the government faces mounting questions over the financial viability of several flagship welfare promises made during the Assembly election campaign. According to estimates, implementing around a dozen major promises in full would require more than ₹1 lakh crore annually, a figure that has raised doubts about whether many of them can be delivered in their original form.

Among the promises carrying the largest financial burden are increasing the monthly assistance for women from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500, introducing free bus travel for women across Tamil Nadu, providing six free LPG cylinder refills every year, distributing one-sovereign gold coins to eligible women at the time of marriage, offering gold rings to babies born in government hospitals, raising old-age pensions to ₹3,000 per month and granting ₹15,000 annually to parents or guardians of school-going children up to Class 12.

So far, the government has implemented only diluted versions of some of its key promises. These include 200 units of free electricity for domestic consumers and a partial crop-loan waiver scheme under which small and marginal farmers received a complete waiver while larger farmers were granted a 50% waiver.

While the free electricity scheme has not generated major opposition, the crop-loan waiver has come under criticism from political parties, including some allies of the ruling TVK, as well as farmers’ organisations that have demanded full implementation of the promise.

The most significant fiscal challenge remains the proposed increase in financial assistance for women. Officials estimate that raising the amount to ₹2,500 per month for the existing 1.3 crore beneficiaries alone would cost the State nearly ₹39,000 crore every year.

Questions have also been raised about the feasibility of the promised annual support for farmers. Agricultural experts have suggested that the government could reduce the financial burden by linking its proposed ₹15,000 annual assistance scheme with the Centre’s PM-KISAN programme. Under such a model, the State would contribute ₹9,000 while the Centre continues providing ₹6,000, reducing Tamil Nadu’s annual expenditure to around ₹1,980 crore instead of ₹3,300 crore.

The White Paper is expected to provide the first official assessment of Tamil Nadu’s fiscal position under the new government and could offer clues on which election promises will be implemented fully, modified or deferred. With the State facing a tight financial situation, several of TVK’s headline welfare commitments now appear likely to remain on paper unless substantial new revenue sources are identified.

“Environmentalist” Sundarrajan Targets Justice GR Swaminathan After Madras High Court’s Remarks On DVAC Chief

“Environmentalist” Sundarrajan Targets Justice GR Swaminathan After Madras High Courts’s Remarks On DVAC Chief

Days after the Madras High Court made stinging observations about the appointment of IPS officer A. Arun as DVAC Director, DMK propagandist and alleged ‘environmental activist’ G. Sundarrajan drew criticism by targeting Justice GR Swaminathan personally in a social media post.

The controversy stems from remarks made by a division bench comprising Justices GR Swaminathan and V. Lakshminarayanan, who noted that the post of DVAC Director should be occupied by officers of exceptional integrity and reputation. Referring to former DVAC chiefs C.V. Narasimhan and C.L. Ramakrishnan, the judges observed that even a whiff of allegation had never been made against them during their careers and emphasized that a position tasked with combating corruption must be headed by professionals of sterling reputation.

These comments came after the court bailiff was made to wait for hours before receiving the summons in a habeas corpus petition.

Sharing the judges’ observations on social media, Sundarrajan of Poovulagin Nanbargal, a Dravidian Stock and self-proclaimed activist who is also known for being a DMK propagandist, responded with remarks directed at Justice GR Swaminathan. He wrote that the judge should remember that he occupies a chair once held by eminent legal luminaries, including Sir Thomas Andrew Lumisden Strange, whom he praised for judicial interventions against slavery. Sundarrajan then took a dig at Justice Swaminathan, referring to the judge’s observations in the Thirupparankundram Deepathoon Karthigai Deepam lighting case and remarking that, unlike those legal luminaries, Justice Swaminathan wanted a survey stone to become a “deepathoon” (lamp pillar).

The comments have drawn criticism from several quarters, with detractors accusing Sundarrajan of personally targeting a sitting High Court judge rather than engaging with the substance of the court’s observations. The remarks crossed the line from criticism of a judgment into commentary directed at the judge himself.

Sundarrajan, active during the Dravidian Model regime by spreading fake news, seems to have become irrelevant these days as the DMK is out of power and seems to be targeting people to spew venom on social media.

Conflict Of Interest? AIADMK MP Inbadurai Questions TVK Minister Holding Sports Ministry And BFI Presidency Simultaneously

Conflict Of Interest? AIADMK MP Inbadurai Questions TVK Minister Holding Sports Ministry And BFI Presidency Simultaneously

AIADMK Advocates Wing Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP IS Inbadurai has questioned Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna continuing to serve as president of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), alleging that the dual roles raise concerns over a potential conflict of interest, as reported in DT Next.

Aadhav Arjuna had been serving as president of the Basketball Federation of India even before joining TVK. Following the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, in which TVK secured a majority and formed the government, he was inducted into the cabinet headed by Chief Minister Vijay.

Aadhav Arjuna currently holds charge of the Public Works Department (Buildings), Highways and Minor Ports, as well as the Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department. Inbadurai alleged that despite becoming the state’s Sports Minister, Aadhav Arjuna continues to remain president of the Basketball Federation of India, a position which, according to him, is still reflected on the federation’s official website.

In a post on his X handle, Inbadurai questioned whether the same individual could simultaneously function as both regulator and administrator in the sports sector. He argued that the arrangement could compromise the perception of impartiality in sports governance and undermine public confidence in the administration of sporting bodies.

According to Inbadurai, good governance requires not only the absence of actual bias but also the absence of any appearance of bias. He contended that continuing in both positions at the same time creates concerns regarding neutrality and fairness in sports administration.

The AIADMK MP’s criticism comes days after another social media post in which he targeted Aadhav Arjuna’s political conduct and public statements. In that post, Inbadurai remarked that Aadhav Arjuna’s actions and comments about various political parties, including the AIADMK, gave the impression that he was functioning as though he were the Chief Minister. He further quipped that the only party Aadhav Arjuna had not yet joined was the “Cockroach Janta Party”, as reported in Hindu Tamil.

TVK Model: 15 Days Without Drinking Water Triggers Protest In Tiruvallur; Police Release Detainees After Public Pressure

TVK Model: 15 Days Without Drinking Water Triggers Protest In Tiruvallur; Police Release Detainees After Public Pressure

More than 100 villagers, including women, staged a road blockade in Thekkalur village near Thiruttani in Tiruvallur district, protesting the disruption of drinking water supply for the past 15 days due to a malfunctioning borewell.

According to residents, the panchayat administration had installed a borewell and laid pipelines to provide drinking water to the village. However, the borewell reportedly became non-functional two weeks ago, bringing water supply to a halt and causing severe hardship to residents. Villagers alleged that despite repeatedly submitting complaints to the panchayat secretary, no action was taken to restore the supply.

Frustrated by the delay, residents gathered on the Poonamallee Road carrying empty water pots and launched a road blockade, demanding immediate restoration of drinking water services. The protest led to major traffic disruptions along the stretch.

Police personnel rushed to the spot and held talks with the protesters, assuring them that arrangements would be made to provide drinking water immediately. However, the protesters refused to withdraw the agitation, insisting on concrete action. Police subsequently removed several protesters from the road and detained them.

The situation escalated when villagers surrounded the bus carrying the detained protesters and demanded their release. Following continued protests, the police released those who had been taken into custody.

Later, TVK district secretary Dilli Babu arrived at the spot and held discussions with the villagers. He assured them that he would take up the matter with the concerned officials and that steps would be taken to repair the borewell and restore drinking water supply at the earliest.

Residents also highlighted a range of civic issues affecting nearby Lingampatti’s Annanagar Colony. They alleged that their street had been deprived of regular drinking water supply for prolonged periods despite repeated complaints to panchayat authorities. Villagers further complained about the absence of proper roads, non-functioning streetlights, drainage-related issues and inadequate maintenance of public infrastructure.

According to residents, repeated petitions and representations to government officials had failed to yield results. They stated that poor civic amenities had left children, elderly residents and families struggling with unsafe living conditions, particularly during the rainy season when stagnant water, insects and snakes posed additional risks.

The protest over drinking water supply and basic civic amenities created significant tension in the area before officials assured residents that corrective measures would be initiated.
