DMK cadres in Thiruvottriyur thrash AIADMK supporters and render them homeless

Over 60 families have been rendered homeless in Thiruvottriyur due to atrocities committed by DMK cadres in the area. They have now beseeched the government officials to take appropriate action as soon as possible.

Families of over 60 fishermen are living in Chennai’s Thiruvottriyur. It has been reported that goons have been continuously harassing AIADMK supporters who live in that locality. Women in the area are reportedly facing harassment from youngsters in the area. When confronted, these youngsters bring in DMK men and resort to attacking them.

Recently, Rajendran, the DMK block secretary of the locality, along with his henchmen, had attacked the women in the area saying the mere presence of AIADMK supporters were making them sick. They even issued death threats to supporters of the AIADMK.

They then proceeded to vacate the area and move to Washermenpet, Royapuram and other neighbouring areas. When they returned back to their homes, they were attacked by the DMK again. Following this incident, the residents of this area have given a formal complaint to take action against the DMK cadres.
