Congress ruled states of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have the highest percentage of COVID vaccine wastage

As the Congress party blames Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the lack of the Covid-19 vaccine, it has emerged that the wastage of vaccine in Congress-ruled states of  Jharkhand is 37.3 per cent) and Chhattisgarh is 30.2 per cent.

Tamil Nadu’s vaccine wastage stands at 15.5 per cent, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry, Livemint has reported.

The vaccines are a life-saving drug and the national vaccine wastage currently stands at 6.3 per cent that is why states have been urged by the centre to keep vaccine wastage below 1 per cent.

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the vaccine wastage is of 10.8 per cent and, in Madhya Pradesh the vaccine wastage of 10.7 per cent and these are disturbingly above the national average.

Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 20.13 crore doses and more than 1.77 crore Covid-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered with 1 lakh vaccine doses that are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within the next 3 days.
