In a political development that once again points to the Christutva politics of TVK, the party’s Tirunelveli East district secretary and Ambasamudram candidate Isakki Subbiah was announced as the party’s candidate at a Christian prayer meeting organised by pastor Mohan Lazarus in Kadayanallur.
During the prayer meeting, the pastor publicly announced that Isakki Subbiah would contest the upcoming by-election in Ambasamudram and urged the congregation to pray for his electoral victory.
Asking the congregation to raise their hands in prayer, the pastor specifically named Isakki Subbiah and prayed for his political elevation, higher positions in politics and success in serving the people of the constituency.
The prayer also referred to the assistance rendered by Isakki Subbiah’s father and sought blessings for his family and personal well-being.
Isakki Subbiah, who had won the Ambasamudram Assembly constituency on an AIADMK ticket, subsequently resigned from the party and joined TVK. He has since been campaigning in the constituency, projecting himself as the party’s candidate even before the formal announcement of the election schedule.
The prayer meeting announcement now indicates that TVK is backing him for the Ambasamudram by-election.
