An incident involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami quickly intervening to help out a student from Tirupur, after the student reached out to the CM via Twitter, is winning hearts online.
An individual named Hari had recently tweeted, explaining the plight of his sister who was unable to attend her exams due to lack of internet facilities. The tweet, in Tamil, said, “My sister is a seventh-grader in St. Joseph’s School, Tirupur. She has her midterm examinations today. Since my dad was ill over the last six months, we were unable to pay her school fee. The school administration has refused to send her the online examination link because of the default over fee payment. She was also prohibited from attending online classes, stating that she will only be allowed to do so once the fee has been paid. We tried to get her enrolled in a government-run school, but the school she is currently studying in has refused to grant her the TC since the fee payment is due. Due to this predicament, my sister is neither able to attend classes, nor her midterm exam. She is extremely saddened by this. Please do help us in some way, sir.”
In the tweet, he had tagged the Chief Minister Palaniswami, the State Education Minister, the District Collector of Tirupur Vijayakarthikeyan and various celebrities in an attempt to get their attention.

Addressing this issue, the CMO had contacted the school administration. The District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan spoke to the school authorities and saw to it that that the student received the link for the online examination.
This incident has now gone viral with appreciations pouring in for the District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
