Karunanidhi Coin Release Reshape Political Landscape In Tamil Nadu, Here’s Why I Think It Is Modi’s Masterstroke

PM Modi Hails Late DMK Patriarch Karunanidhi

In one swift move, Modi has shown that he doesn’t just play the political game—he redefines it.

The recent release of a coin by the Modi government in honour of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has sparked much speculation and confusion among those who are anti-DMK. However, from a purely political perspective, this move demonstrates why Modi is the master strategist of Indian politics.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released the commemorative coin to mark the birth centenary of the late DMK patriarch on August 18 in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and Union Minister L Murugan.

This Karunanidhi coin release event is a decisive checkmate against Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, who might have considered bringing a no-confidence motion against the government. With this single stroke, Modi has effectively silenced those who believed his political survival depended on the support of these leaders. The message is clear: Modi can navigate the political landscape without their backing.

Annamalai at the Karunanidhi Coin Release Event

The icing was Modi sending Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai for the coin release event.

Annamalai, who has been the face of the attack on the DMK over the past three years, has successfully positioned himself as a leader of the anti-DMK vote bloc. He boosted the alliance’s support to 18% in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

His presence at the event was no ordinary gesture—top officials, including the Chief Minister, invited Annamalai. This move reinforces Modi’s statement of strength.

Why is this significant?

The answer is straightforward: CM M.K. Stalin has historically refrained from voting against the opposition during no-confidence motions, preferring to have his party walk out. If a no-confidence motion came up now, Stalin’s 22 MPs would likely walk out rather than vote. It will further weaken any opposition challenge.

While some of Annamalai’s supporters might see his attendance at the event as a slight disappointment, from a broader perspective, it’s a masterstroke that strengthens the government’s position. There’s no alliance, but the move was a strategic step to solidify political power.

Reviving Indian Heritage Amidst “Woke-ism” In Children’s Programme, Prachyam Introduces Sanskrit Animated Movie “Punyakoti” Connecting Them to Indian Roots

Prachyam Introduces Sanskrit Animated Movie "Punyakoti"

The Prachyam team launched their ambitious project, Punyakoti, the world’s first animated Sanskrit film, to spotlight Bharat’s rich cultural heritage for the next generation. In an era where children’s entertainment has shifted from value-driven classics like “Ramayana” to content steeped in woke themes, “Punyakoti” aims to offer a refreshing return to timeless stories of integrity and Bharatiya morality.

Cartoons For Indian 90’s kids and Gen Z

Amid rapid technological advancements and shifting cultural landscapes, two generations—Indian 90s kids and Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012—have experienced a profound transformation in how they engage with the world. These generations have witnessed a remarkable technological evolution that has impacted their daily lives. This journey began with the introduction of television into Indian households. It brought a captivating array of cartoon shows that captivated young minds. Children found themselves engrossed in a new realm of entertainment, often preferring the animated worlds on screen to the outdoors.

The early days of television delivered an unforgettable era of cartoons that defined childhood for many. Shows like “Oswald,” with its soothing melodies and gentle characters, provided a serene escape. At the same time, classics like “Tom and Jerry,” “Courage the Cowardly Dog,” and “Looney Tunes” offered a mix of humour and light-hearted antics. Despite their sometimes chaotic antics, these shows avoided promoting real-world mischief or violence, with only a few exceptions, such as the occasionally overzealous fans of “Dragon Ball Z” and “Ben 10.”

Woke Messages in Cartoons

As society evolved, so did the content on screens, reflecting the broader cultural shifts. While early animated shows occasionally touched on emerging cultural themes such as the anxious antics of “Scooby-Doo & Shaggy” or Johnny Bravo’s over-the-top flirtations, the contemporary landscape is now steeped in complex ideas like “binary” and “queer,” even many adults struggle to comprehend. There’s an expectation to teach children these complex ideas, although sex education itself is still considered taboo. While offering options is not inherently wrong, the concern is that such concepts should not fundamentally shape children’s characters.

While these concepts are pivotal in contemporary adult discussions, they can overwhelm young, impressionable children. These young viewers are easily swayed by peer influence and trends. Given their still-developing grasp of the world, such complexities may make even straightforward ideas difficult for them to understand.

To counter this struggle, traditional Indian creative practices offer a more accessible approach to shaping young minds. These time-tested storytelling practices protect them from negative influences and allow them to enjoy their childhood. We have a rich history of folklore, songs, puppetry, and skits, engaging children with moral lessons and cultural values. They imparted non-provocative stories, teaching children to be morally upright, respect other human beings, and grow as a society with strong values.

Drama shows and puppetry were also significant parts of popular entertainment. Watching “Ramayana” with full devotion and eagerly anticipating Hanuman’s flight across the seas to deliver Ram’s message to Sita was a cherished experience. Hanuman was revered and considered a protector, and chanting his name was believed to keep harm at bay.

However, the shift towards modernity missed the “Ramayana,” “Little Krishna,” and tales of Hanuman offered children moral lessons wrapped in cultural narratives. These programs, rich in spiritual and ethical teachings, provided a foundation of values and cultural heritage. However, the emphasis on cultural stories and moral education began to wane.

Today, parenting has become increasingly challenging with foreign influences impacting children’s behavious. For instance, a new episode of a Netflix Jr. cartoon for preschoolers faced backlash for introducing concepts like “nonbinary” and “they/them” pronouns. Meanwhile, Indian cartoons often revolve around monotonous 3D characters with repetitive/No plots. There is no difference between “Oogy and the Cockroaches” or “Rat-a-Tat” and Japanese manga like “Shinchan” teaches children how not to behave? And all other non sense.

Punyakoti – First Animated Sansrit Film

Amid these changes, the “Prachyam” team has embarked on a mission to revitalize Indian cultural narratives for today’s children. Their groundbreaking project, “Punyakoti,” marks the world’s first animated Sanskrit film, reminiscent of Disney’s storytelling approach. It is the tale of Punyakoti, a truthful cow whose commitment to her word transforms her fate and the heart of a tiger. Through lush animation and a stirring soundtrack, “Punyakoti” revives timeless values of integrity and morality.

But this is not all; the platform has also introduced other captivating storytelling videos. For instance, it narrates the enduring saga of Bhakt Prahlad and his divine triumph over the evil demon king Hiranyakashyap. The narrative unfolds with Prahlad’s unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu. This tale exemplifies the enduring power of faith, righteousness, and divine intervention. It offers a profound message of courage and dedication within Hindu mythology.

“Eye of the Parrot: Arjuna’s Singular Focus on the Parrot’s Eye” recounts the legendary tale of Arjuna’s extraordinary archery skills. These efforts to reignite ancient glory and instil confidence in children about their cultural roots are truly commendable.

Annamalai Suspects Foul Play In Death Of Fake NCC Camp Rape Accused And Father

Sivaraman, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl at a fake NCC Camp, has died under mysterious circumstances. After allegedly consuming poison and being treated for liver damage, Sivaraman died on 23 August 2024

His death coincided with the road accident death of his father.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai raised concerns about potential cover-ups. He questioned whether the deaths are linked to fears of exposing further details in the ongoing investigation.

Fake NCC Camp

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) functionary named Sivaraman during a fake National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp at a private school near Bargur in  Krishnagiri district.

On the night of August 8, Sivaraman, who was a trainer at the fake camp, allegedly coerced the girl to come out of her accommodation and assaulted her. He was the NTK district youth wing secretary, which expelled him after this incident.

Investigations revealed that Sivaraman also allegedly sexually harassed 13 other girls during the camp.

Additionally, a second POCSO case was filed against Sivaraman on Wednesday (21 August 2024) following allegations from the parents of a 14-year-old girl, who claimed he had sexually assaulted their daughter during a fake NCC Camp in January at a private school near Krishnagiri. On the same day, he was also charged with fraud in connection with a land dispute involving ₹36.20 lakh.

The State government formed two teams: a Special Investigation Team to investigate the fake NCC camps held at various schools and colleges in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri, and a Multi-Disciplinary Team to recommend measures for preventing future child abuse. Both teams began their inquiries in Krishnagiri on Thursday (22 August 2024).

Sivaraman Death

However, during his arrest, Sivaraman allegedly “attempted to flee”, resulting in a “leg fracture” and his subsequent admission to Government Krishnagiri Medical College Hospital. Later on 23 August 2024, reports stated that he died after allegedly after consuming rat poison.

He was transferred to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital in Salem on Wednesday, where he succumbed to death due to liver damage in the early hours of Friday. According to police, he had “consumed poison” two days before his arrest.

Police also reportedly disclosed that Sivaraman had previously ingested poison last month due to a family dispute and had been treated at a private hospital in Krishnagiri for nearly ten days.

Sivaraman’s body will be released to his family after a postmortem is conducted on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Sivaraman’s father, S. Ashok Kumar, 61, of Gandhi Nagar near Kaveripattinam, died in a road accident on Thursday night. Kumar reportedly fell from his two-wheeler while riding home. His body was sent to Government Krishnagiri Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

The deaths of both Sivaraman and his father has raised eyebrows leading to speculations of a cover-up.

BJP TN Chief Suspects Foul Play

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai said “Both the deaths are suspicious. Sivaraman may have been killed for fear that he might reveal the names of other key figures involved in the sex crime during the investigation by the Special Investigation Team. A strong doubt arises whether all those involved in the case have been arrested or whether the deaths of both the father and son have taken place in an attempt to save someone.”

Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat Alleges Police Withdrew Security For Women Wrestlers Testifying Against Fmr WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh; Delhi Police Refutes Allegations

The Delhi Police has denied the allegation made by Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who had accused the police of withdrawing security for women wrestlers who are preparing to testify against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

On 22 August 2024, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat took to the social media platform X to accuse the Delhi Police, stating that, “Delhi Police has withdrawn the security of the women wrestlers who are going to testify against Brij Bhushan in the court. @DelhiPolice @DCWDelhi @NCWIndia.”

Promptly, the Delhi Police have refuted claims that they did not remove any security for women wrestlers and explained that the security personnel were temporarily reassigned for routine drills and training.

In a rebuttal issued via its official X account, the Delhi Police stated, “The security provided to the wrestlers hasn’t been withdrawn; it was decided to request Haryana Police to takeover the responsibility in future, since the protectees normally reside there. The assigned Delhi Police PSOs misunderstood this decision and got delayed in reporting today. The situation has been rectified. Security cover continues.”

Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla clarified that the security coverage was never withdrawn but instead, it was decided that the Haryana Police would take over, given that the wrestlers usually reside in Haryana. He noted that this is a standard procedure, and some security officers have already returned, while others will arrive later in the day. Mahla also mentioned that the wrestlers were being informed of the change. He attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding by the Delhi Police PSOs, who were delayed in reporting. “The situation has been resolved, and security cover remains in place,” Mahla confirmed.

In related legal developments, the Rouse Avenue Court had summoned a survivor and witness in July to give evidence in a sexual harassment case against Singh. The court aimed to expedite the proceedings initiated by the women wrestlers against Singh and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar. Charges were formally framed against Singh on 21 May 2024, which he and Tomar denied, requesting a trial. The court had earlier ordered the framing of charges on 10 May 2024, based on sufficient evidence of sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of five women wrestlers.

Singh faces charges under Sections 354 and 354A of the IPC, as well as Section 506 (1) based on the allegations of two women. Tomar faces a charge under Section 506 (1) but has been discharged from other allegations.

In the most recent hearing on 6th August, Sub-Inspector Rashmi, who played a key role in the investigation, testified about collecting photographic evidence from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre in Lucknow and Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium in Rohtak, provided by one of the victims. An Additional Public Prosecutor conducted her testimony under the supervision of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot.

Another key prosecution witness and victim could not attend the hearing due to medical issues. Her testimony has been rescheduled for 23 August 2024.

“Mr Gokhale, Stop Being A Troll”, Barkha Dutt Calls Out Bullying By TMC RS MP Saket Gokhale

A video of former NDTV reporter Barkha Dutt calling TMC Rajya Sabha MP “a troll” has gone viral all over the internet. The video is a clipping from a panel discussion with her and a few others on her YouTube channel Mojo Story, where Saket Gokhale expressed his frustration with how certain media outlets have been selectively portraying events related to a case in West Bengal.

https://twitter.com/mjavinod/status/1826807599637102738

He emphasized that while selective clips and facts have been used to craft a particular narrative, this approach can be misleading. Gokhale also highlighted that the West Bengal government had acted promptly in the case, registering an Unnatural Death (UD) report immediately after receiving a call from the hospital. He pointed out that this was done even before the postmortem, as the nature of the incident—whether it involved rape or homicide—was still unknown.

Gokhale criticized a specific instance in which a news report claimed that the emergency room at the RJ Kar hospital, where the incident occurred, had been vandalized. When the Kolkata police called out this report, the reporter justified the claim by stating that there was a punctuation error in the initial statement. Gokhale alleged that careless and misleading reporting has caused significant distress over the past weeks.

The reporter in question turned out to be Barkha Dutt herself! In her further comments, Dutt dismissed the opposing argument as “pure sophistry” and reiterated her stance. She made it clear that she stands by her reporting despite the police’s statements. Dutt emphasized that the police are free to pursue legal action against her if they wish, but she remains confident in the accuracy of her story.

Gokhale repeatedly interrupted and made continuous allegations against Barkha Dutt. Despite her attempts to continue speaking, Gokhale insisted on interjecting, leading to a tense exchange. Dutt responded by asserting her right to finish her point, highlighting that his interruptions were likely due to the uncomfortable nature of the discussion for him.

Dutt then said, “I think you completely reveal your absence of priority“. Following this, Dutt asked him to make his point and that she would do after him.

During the heated exchange, Gokhale accused Dutt of being biased, questioning her priorities, and even indirectly alleging that she was a BJP stooge. He began by sarcastically asking if she was broadcasting the show from Badlapur or Gurgaon, to which Dutt retorted, questioning why her location mattered. Gokhale escalated his allegations, accusing Dutt of ignoring crimes in Maharashtra because it is BJP-ruled while focusing on incidents in TMC-governed Kolkata. He referenced her column, which implied that the Kolkata doctor who was raped and murdered might have been targeted because she knew something sensitive, a claim that visibly enraged Gokhale. He persistently questioned her on this point, accusing her of suggesting the crime was an “inside job.” She then invited him to move on from his “little rant” to the actual discussion.

Dutt attempted to calm the situation, proposing to play a whistleblower’s account of the events, but Gokhale refused to listen, continually interrupting her. As tensions rose, Dutt warned Gokhale that she would have to ask him to leave the show if he continued his behavior. Gokhale, however, persisted with his accusations, repeatedly making the same points. Dutt, remaining composed, challenged him to let her respond to his allegations but stated firmly that she would not be bullied by him or any politician. She said, “I will respond if you’re willing to listen. I have heard you politely and I will not be bullied by you or any politician of any party Mr. Gokhale, Mr. Gokhale stop being a troll

After Gokhale continued to disrupt the discussion, Dutt muted him, stating that he had an “absolute absence of integrity” and dared him to call the police to sue her. She asserted her stance, refusing to be intimidated, and maintained control over the conversation by muting his microphone.

Dutt firmly asserted her stance by stating,Mr. Gokhale, you have every right to your opinion of me, but you do not have the right to bully me or silence me, and I will not be bullied or silenced by you.” She also invited Gokhale to a one-on-one live debate to discuss this further.

After unmuting Gokhale, who complained about not getting a chance to speak, he accused her of muting him to avoid addressing his points, which he claimed showed a lack of integrity on her part. Gokhale insisted that he wasn’t there to be a spectator and criticized her for muting him, stating it was unfair.

Following this exchange, Dutt asked Gokhale to leave the show, unable to resolve it due to his continued disruptions.

Netizens praised Dutt for calmly and professionally calling out TMC’s bullying.

After ₹70 Cr Home, Virtual Signaler Suriya Allegedly Purchases ₹120 Cr Private Jet; Netizens Question Hypocrisy Over Jothika’s Previous Comments On Spending For Schools & Hospitals

The internet is abuzz with the latest news about Kollywood actor Suriya, who has reportedly purchased a lavish private jet worth an astonishing ₹120 crores. This jet is said to be outfitted with cutting-edge technology and safety features, intended to help Suriya ‘manage his schedule and travel to movie locations efficiently‘. The news quickly spread and became a topic of discussion, particularly among netizens who had previously criticized Suriya and his wife Jyothika for their public preaching on righteousness. Many are now questioning the irony of their advice and wondering whether their principles apply only to others and not to themselves.

Reports reveal that Suriya purchased the impressive Dassault Falcon 2000 private jet, allegedly costing a staggering ₹120 crores. This jet boasts state-of-the-art technology and advanced safety features. Additionally, it is reported that Suriya is now the sole owner of this exceptional aircraft, which distinguishes him from other Tamil film industry actors.

Netizens Call Out Double-Standards

The ridicule and trolling directed at actor Suriya stem from the fact that his recent ₹120 crore purchase sharply contrasts with the public statements made by his wife, Jyothika. At an awards ceremony in 2020, Jyothika had emphasized the importance of donating to schools and hospitals rather than temples. She had compared the grandeur of the Brihadeeshwara temple to Udaipur’s palaces, but her experience with a poorly maintained hospital during her filming led her to advocate for prioritizing donations to educational and healthcare institutions.

Instead of criticizing the state for its handling of health services, she subtly used the platform to urge the public to direct their charitable contributions toward schools and hospitals, asserting that these sectors are more, deserving of support.

A Virtue-Signalling Family

Suriya and his family, particularly his wife Jyothika and brother Karthi have many a time indulged in virtue-signaling to peddle DMK propaganda. He was one of the frontrunners in peddling anti-NEET rhetoric and making comments against the National Education Policy 2020. His brother Karthi had called for the boycott of the three farm laws that were implemented by the Modi Government ignorant of the fact that such laws were already in place in Tamil Nadu.

After the DMK came to power, Suriya along with his family moved to Mumbai and currently lives in a sea-view house allegedly worth ₹70 crore. Despite Suriya residing with his family in Mumbai, armed policemen continue to guard his Chennai residence, courtesy of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu.

Furthermore, Suriya runs anon-profitorganization called the Agaram Foundation and has resorted to virtue-signalling by being vocal for causes espoused by the ruling DMK. He is known for his anti-NEET stance when he claimed it filters away those aspiring to study medicine but Suriya’s hypocrisy shines through his teeth when one looks at the selection process for students seeking financial help for higher education through Agaram Foundation run by the actor. According to the Agaram Foundation’s website, they have a rigorous scoring system in place to identifydeservingstudents. This requirement contradicts the stated mission of promoting education and social equality.

While their acquisition of a new private jet is a personal decision, their public statements often project a sense of virtue that they don’t seem to uphold. This discrepancy has only heightened their hypocrisy meter to a new level.

Netizen Criticism

One netizen trolled actor Suriya, saying,Didn’t Jyothika advise you that, this money could have been used to build 50 schools?”

Another netizen asked, How many schools and hospitals can be built with this money”

Another netizen echoed the same stating, “With this money, many schools and hospitals can be constructed. Why didn’t @ActressJothika tell her husband @Suriya_offl this advice?”

TMC MP Saket Gokhale Shares Fake News Card Attempting To Fact-Check India Today; Gets Fact-Checked

On 22 August 2024, India Today reported that the CBI told the Supreme Court of a coverup in the Kolkata medical intern rape and murder case. TMC Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale dismissed the report as fake news, but it was later exposed that he used a fake fact-check card, misleadingly attributed to India Today, in his defence. The media outlet has since clarified that they did not issue the card, but Gokhale hasn’t apologised for spreading misinformation.

The India Today Report

India Today reported that CBI informed Supreme Court that the seminar hall where the Kolkata medical intern was raped and murdered had been compromised. They also noted that the CBI stated categorically that there was a coverup. This news was shared by India Today reporter Akshita Nandagopal on her social media platform X.

Saket Gokhale Misinforms

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale, who has a history of peddling fake news in his previous avatar as an activist, claimed that the news reported was fake and only forsensationalism. He wrote, Fake news for sensationalism.  I’ve been watching every minute of the proceedings & the court has NOT observed anything of this sort (no matter what CBI says). Been silent for the last 9 days but it’s time to call out the brazen fake news being run by this channel.”

He put out an image that was allegedly a fake news check by India Today. The image carddebunkeda claim that Kolkata Police had vandalised all evidences pertaining to the case. The image card, posted by India Today’s Anti-Fake News War Room, shared the truth regarding this claim. It said, CBI in its official report has stated all investigating documents and scene of crime were videographed by Kolkata Police. No evidence has been tampered.”

India Today Retorts

It appeared later that someone had been impersonating India Today’s fake news checking unit! India Today’s official handle stated, India Today Fact Check has not issued these postcards. Our old template and logo have been misused to create such posts. You can find our fact-check stories on our official websites and social media accounts.”

Akshita Nandagopal, in a post replying to Saket Gokhale, wrote, Hi @SaketGokhale, I choose to largely ignore your obviously motivated posts, but this is FAKE- it’s not India Today’s property… amazing that you don’t FACT CHECK before tweeting If only TMC MPs spent as much time ensuring justice for Abhaya as much as they’re spending on social media”

Despite learning that he had (albeit) inadvertently shared a fakefact checkcard, Gokhale has not responded or apologized for making the allegations against India Today.

This seems to be a prevalent trait among leftists, anti-nationals, and pro-Congressis who claim one thing, spread fake news, and then when exposed, do not apologize or issue a rectification or delete their post.

AP Dy CM Pawan Kalyan Launches “Swarn Gram Panchayat” Initiative To Revitalize Rural Development; To Hold 13,326 Gram Sabhas In A Single Day

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government is launching the “Swarn Gram Panchayat” program to promote sustainable village development through Gram Panchayats. This novel program will concentrate on four key areas of rural development, aiming to rejuvenate neglected village panchayats throughout the state.

On 23 August 2024, Konidala Pawan Kalyan, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Panchayat Raj, held simultaneous gram sabhas across 13,326 village panchayats. This event will mark the official launch of this ambitious Swarn Gram Panchayat program.

At a press conference at his camp office in Mangalagiri on 22 August 2024, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced that 87 projects under the MGNREGS program had been approved, totalling an investment of ₹4,500 crores. He also mentioned that the meetings will finalize the action plan for generating 9.54 crore man-days under MGNREGS.

He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is the second state to implement the Panchayat system and is now introducing second-generation reforms to enhance it. Reaffirming the state government’s pledge to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system, Pawan Kalyan noted that funding for national festival celebrations at the panchayat level has recently been increased a hundredfold. Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the Gram Sabha meetings are designed to be more than mere formalities; they will embody the essence of democracy by making collective decisions aligned with the 73rd Constitutional Amendment’s goal of self-rule and self-sufficiency.

Pawan Kalyan emphasized that “Gram Sabha is not like just any other meeting held for the sake of holding a meeting. It will reflect the true spirit of democracy, where collective decisions will be taken. They will be in tune with the objective of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, which is self-rule with the ultimate objective being self-sufficiency,” and stressed that officers must handle their responsibilities with utmost care to ensure the successful conduct of the Gram Sabha.

He criticized the previous administration led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the Panchayat Raj system was mismanaged and that MGNREGS projects were not implemented despite allocating central funds. He claimed that between 2019 and 2023, ₹40,579 crore was released under MGNREGS without yielding visible results, citing misuse during the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant drop in panchayat revenues.

Pawan Kalyan pledged to transform panchayats into wealth-generating entities by utilizing vacant village lands and promoting local specialities, such as handlooms, crafts, or food. He emphasized that women’s empowerment will be a crucial aspect of village development, and social forestry will also be explored as a source of income.

He also criticized the previous government for neglecting social audits and pointed to issues with the Jal Jeevan Mission, citing irregularities and concerns about groundwater exploitation. He stressed the importance of water recycling in addressing problems such as fluoride contamination.

Meta’s Instagram Suspends OpIndia’s Account, Reinstates Later; Congress Supporters Celebrate Suspension

Instagram OpIndia

Meta’s Instagram recently suspended the OpIndia account, citing vague policy violations related to restricted items. This sparked widespread criticism and accusations of arbitrary censorship. The account was reinstated following the backlash, but the incident has raised concerns about the platform’s commitment to free speech and fair treatment.

Reason for Suspension

The pop-up message stated that OpIndia’s handle may have violated policies related to the ‘buying, selling, or exchange of items restricted by governments’. The platform listed examples such as firearms, animal parts, tobacco, alcohol, or drugs as prohibited items. This suspension came as a surprise, especially since OpIndia is a news platform not involved in any such activities. Instagram’s reasoning was widely criticized as nonsensical, with many suggesting that the decision reflected a broader pattern of arbitrary censorship by Big Tech companies.

The suspension was met with widespread criticism, with many pointing out that the reasoning provided by Instagram was not only vague but also illogical. Some critics suggested that this incident was indicative of a broader issue where social media companies use their power to silence voices they disagree with, without offering a legitimate or coherent explanation.

Anti-national, pro-Congress, leftist handles celebrated the suspension.

OpIndia Account Re-Instated

However, after backlash and scrutiny, Instagram reinstated the OpIndia account, acknowledging that the suspension could have been a mistake.

The reinstatement was celebrated by OpIndia, with its Chief Editor, Nupur Sharma, sarcastically noting that Meta had finally realized they ‘weren’t involved in selling guns or animals’ on Instagram, calling the initial suspension decision as one made by “a bunch of noobs.”

Critics argue that such actions undermine trust in these platforms and question their commitment to free speech and fair treatment of all users.

Notably, platforms controlled by Meta—Facebook and Instagram—shadow ban pro-Hindu handles.

The Commune has faced this on Facebook. Our posts on Rahul Gandhi and Hindenburg were repeatedly taken down even though we challenged the decision. No plausible explanation has been given to date.

Madras HC Allows Hindu Munnani Protests On Bangladesh Crisis, Questions TN Govt’s Selective Permitting Of Demonstrations

Hindu Munnani gets HC nod for Bangladesh protest

On 21 August 2024, the Madras High Court delivered a significant blow to the Tamil Nadu state government by authorizing State-wide demonstrations organized by Hindu Munnani to protest against the persecution of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The court also questioned why protests in Tamil Nadu expressing solidarity with Tamils in Sri Lanka or condemning the genocide in Gaza are allowed, while similar demonstrations addressing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh are not permitted in the state.

These comments from the court come in the backdrop of a Hindu Munnani office-bearer petitioning the Madras High Court, requesting an order for the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to authorize demonstrations across the State to urge the Central government to take immediate action to halt the genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Court Slams DMK Govt

On 16 August 2024, Justice G. Jayachandran instructed a government pleader to gather instructions by 21 August 2024 and explain why the Hindu Munnani’s demonstration requests had been denied. During this period, the court also suggested that the requests be reconsidered. In a subsequent hearing, the bench headed by Justice G. Jayachandran instructed the State police to permit the organization to hold peaceful demonstrations between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on 27 August 2024, provided they do not disrupt road traffic.

Senior counsel G. Karthikeyan, representing Hindu Munnani, informed the court that while many individuals, organizations, and political parties in the country have spoken out about the victims in Gaza, there has been little support for minorities facing violence in Bangladesh. Consequently, Hindu Munnani sought to organize protest demonstrations across Tamil Nadu to urge the Central government to take immediate action to protect Hindus in Bangladesh. However, the State police had initially denied permission for these protests. The government pleader further argued that the situation in Bangladesh had improved since the interim government began addressing the violence, and thus, demonstrations were unnecessary. The advocate also expressed concerns that the protests might provoke unrelated issues.

The judge came down heavily stating, “We have seen demonstrations expressing concern over genocide in Sri Lanka. State had no difficulty in providing permission for those demonstrations,” and also the improvements by the interim government were a recent development, whereas the petitioner had applied for permission to demonstrate as early as 8 August 2024, with the initial reasons for denial being insufficient. He emphasized Hindu Munnani’s democratic right to peaceful protest. The judge ruled that the petitioner organization should proceed with their demonstration. If issues arise, the judge noted, the police could take appropriate action.

Hindu Munnani Post

Consequently, Hindu Munnani, through its official X account, has announced a State-wide demonstration on 27 August 2024, to draw the Central government’s attention to the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh. The organization questioned, “Can’t you see the suffering of Bangladeshi Hindus? nor you considered that this will not happen to us tomorrow?” They urged supporters to join the demonstration on Tuesday, 27 August 2024.
