Hindu Munnani Alleges DMK Govt Planning To Close Down 33 Temple-Run Orphanages In TN

Hindu Munnani State President Gadeshwara Subramaniam reported that the DMK government plans to close down the 33 orphanages run by temples in a phased manner.

He said, “It appears that the DMK government is attempting to close the 33 orphanages operated by the temple. This administration is trying to permanently shut down many Anbu Illams that were temporarily closed for security reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He said in his statement, “Temples have traditionally been charitable institutions, built with the aim of fostering arts, preserving culture, prioritizing public service, and protecting people during wars and natural disasters. Despite having assets and incomes worth thousands of crores, temples under government control are losing their prestige one by one. The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department managed 33 orphanages on behalf of 30 temples but failed to maintain them properly, leading to financial mismanagement. Consequently, needy students are being denied admission to Anbu Illams. This issue is reportedly similar in homes managed by the state social welfare department, where hostels designed for 250 students have fewer than 30 occupants.”

His statement further stated, “The Bishop of Kanyakumari claimed that the DMK rule is a gift from Christians, which the DMK endorsed. This has sparked suspicions that the closure of orphanages by the Church and Social Welfare Department aims to redirect destitute individuals to Christian-run service homes, as part of a strategy to convert Hindus. There are also allegations that funds designated for these orphanages are being diverted for other purposes.”

He accused the ruling party of Tamil Nadu, “Nevertheless, the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and the Social Welfare Department should ensure the continued operation of the temple orphanages. Many social services have been disrupted by changes in the ruling parties, DMK and AIADMK.”

He also urged the government to take action regarding this, “The orphanages in temples represent a noble service. On behalf of Hindu Munnani, we urge the Tamil Nadu government to take the necessary steps to ensure their continuation.”

Intersex Activist Gopi Shankar Madurai Among Invitees For Narendra Modi’s Swearing-In Ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for a historic third time on the evening of 9 June 2024. The list of invitees to the swearing-in ceremony had been very inclusive. Alongside political figures, representatives from the film and sports industries, business leaders, and other notable individuals, Modi has invited several special guests. These include beneficiaries of central government schemes, members of the transgender community, labourers from the Central Vista project, sanitation workers, and railway employees involved in key projects like the Vande Bharat trains and the Metro.

Additionally, members of the diverse SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Expression, and Sex Characteristics) community, including intersex individuals, were invited to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marked the first time in Indian political history that the most marginalized group from this community was extended such an invitation.

Among those invited was intersex activist Gopi Shankar Madurai, who had previously been appointed as the first intersex statutory authority by the Modi-led government. Expressing his excitement, Gopi, speaking to The New Indian Express, stated “I feel great; I feel delighted to be a part of the historical event. I really have no words to describe it. So far no PM, after independence has invited an Intersex person like me to attend a swearing-in ceremony. This is for the first time, history will be made. I feel blessed; I also feel blessed to have Modi as PM of India,”

Gopi expressed hope that during Modi’s upcoming tenure, the government would officially recognize the existence of intersex individuals in India by including them in the census and regulate medical interventions performed on intersex infants to align their bodies with binary gender norms.

The swearing-in ceremony witnessed over 8,000 invitees attending it at Rashtrapathi Bhavan This also marked a significant step towards inclusivity and representation for the diverse SOGIESC community in India.

Modi’s Third Term: A Chance For Course Correction And Regaining Lost Ground

On 4 June 2024, like crores of Indians, I was also upset that NDA couldn’t cross 400 as that was a high milestone that everyone had in their minds due to very high expectations set. After a few days now, the realization has dawned on everyone that Narendra Modi is doing a hattrick by again forming the government and is set to become the Prime Minister of India for a historic third consecutive term which has happened only once earlier in history of independent India. This is no mean feat, and one has to give it to this great leader, Narendra Damodardas Modi, who led from the front and won the war albeit with a few setbacks in some regional battles with some wily enemies who did not care about the rules of the battlefield and BJP was caught off-guard and couldn’t counter well promptly. As they say, Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar! As the dust settled, it was clear Modi still has emerged the winner leaving the opposition clueless as to what to do next as they couldn’t stop him from forming the government even after using whatever cards they had up their sleeves.

In one way, the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are a blessing in disguise for the BJP and have given them the opportunity to introspect, understand their fault lines and mistakes committed, clean out some pests within, re-unite with some estranged friends and well-wishers, plan better to counter the opposition forces which has exposed everything that they could do and how, understand how some disillusioned segments of society can be taken back into their fold to create a strong consolidation and come back really hard in 2029 to completely rout the opposition, winning every single regional battle on the way.

Let us briefly delve into some key causes of setbacks the BJP saw in this election. Clearly, they lost the plot in UP, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. Internal politics in UP, not understanding the public sentiments well around their breaking parties and allying with some visibly corrupt individuals in Maharashtra, losing the ground connect with public at large in West Bengal and not being able to project a much stronger image than the ruling party there and finally, alienating in some ways their long-time friends on the ground, the RSS, and being a bit overconfident based on past success have all resulted in some dents in their armory which have to be repaired immediately. Another very important area of improvement is to develop a foolproof sound mechanism to counter fake narratives that the opposition peddled and will continue to peddle. I am sure Modi, and his close lieutenants are already working on all of these.

Once Modi 3.0 starts, there are a few areas where Narendra Modi has to focus immediately. In order to reassure the public, he has to take immediate legal measures against some very key political figures in the opposition party who have been out on bail for several years now. It is understandable that for some political reasons, the BJP had gone slow on them but enough is enough now. It is definitely not going to be easy as there will be a lot of Western interventions to save them, but it is time this is done as they have started damaging the society now and Modi can’t take them lightly anymore. There have to be big outreach programs for the Dalits and backward classes albeit some of them might sound populist which is totally fine. Modi must further strengthen the hands of trustworthy local leaders like Yogi Adityanath in UP, K. Annamalai in TN, and Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra which will shut down the internal malicious forces working against them.

A bit of decentralization will help with more nimble decision-making. Having been brought up in Kolkata, I strongly believe that the BJP needs a home-grown strong Bengali CM face like an Annamalai to lead there. A strong social media regulation should be brought under which handles spreading fake and anti-India narratives should be booked immediately. Electoral reforms must be done which provide for politicians found giving money and people found taking money for votes to be booked. A big outreach should be done to that segment of Hindus who felt that Modi was doing soft Hindutva and didn’t stand strong for the Hindu cause, especially in cases where Hindu sentiments got hurt. The secularism narrative should not be seen to be deterring the BJP from taking fair steps anymore. Apprehension of Western media narratives shouldn’t seem to make Modi’s BJP hesitant.

The BJP communication apparatus must be doubly strengthened in order to counter opposition narratives and set impactful ones to help the BJP not look reactive but proactive at all times. Finally, succession planning is a big focus area, if not a burning one like others above, for Modi as grooming his successor has to happen in parallel for him to hand over the baton to safe and strong hands whenever he plans to move on. All these have to be done apart from the current very good government initiatives which have to be continued with same vigour with enhanced focus on unemployment and rural distress.

The recent Lok Sabha elections have added more work for Narendra Modi and his BJP which I think they will happily take on and aggressively complete with double the rigor and passion than the last 10 years. I strongly feel that Narendra Damodardas Modi who the opposition felt was dangerous for their existence will be more dangerous for them than ever in the next five years leading up to the 2029 Lok Sabha elections which will see 400 paar actually happening and some opposition forces totally getting routed if all the right steps and measures are taken on time, aggressively and effectively. Jai Hind!!

CBE Police Cracks Nationwide Drug Syndicate Targeting College Students; Ugandan Inmate In Bengaluru Jail Suspected As Mastermind Operating Via WhatsApp Groups

Three weeks after Coimbatore police apprehended six youths in possession of 102 grams of methamphetamine powder and 1.2 kg of ganja, investigators have homed in on the alleged mastermind, Aivan Gabonge, a Ugandan national serving a jail sentence in a drug-related case at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. It is reported that Gabonge, purportedly the partner of a Kenyan woman previously arrested by the investigating team in Bengaluru, is believed to be orchestrating a nationwide drug network through WhatsApp groups.

Sources indicate that Coimbatore police intend to request the Karnataka Government to detain Gabonge for questioning in order to dismantle the extensive network he is alleged to be operating.

Following statements provided by the six detained individuals, investigators apprehended Vinoth, who confessed to obtaining the narcotics from Praveen Kumar, a Bengaluru-based call taxi driver. It was revealed that Praveen sourced the drugs via a WhatsApp group, facilitating transactions through UPI payments. The narcotics procured through this avenue were predominantly distributed to college students, as per investigative findings.

Utilizing Praveen as a covert operative, law enforcement tracked the transactions to Ivy Bonuke (26), a Kenyan law student enrolled in a Dharwad-based college. Allegedly acting at the direction of Aivan Gabonge, Ivy was arrested by authorities at a Bengaluru shopping mall while conducting transactions using the bank account of another Ugandan national who had departed India in December after completing studies at Delhi University. Transactions totaling ₹45 lakh were recorded between December 2023 and May 2024.

Earlier this week, Vinoth, Praveen, and Ivy were remanded to judicial custody by city police. Ivy is currently detained at Puzhal Prison in Chennai.

BJP Member Arrested Over Alleged Tiger Claw Possession By Forest Dept After His Tonsure Video Goes Viral

Following the defeat of Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party leader K Annamalai’s defeat in the Coimbatore constituency, a BJP member, Jayashankar, in Paramankurichi, Thoothukudi district, made headlines by tonsuring his head in a symbolic gesture after he lost a bet with members of another party. The video of this tonsuring quickly spread across social media platforms. This surprisingly led to his arrest  by forest department police over alleged possession of tiger claws. The officials initiated an investigation into the matter.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the DMK alliance secured victory in all 40 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, defeating both the AIADMK alliance and the BJP alliance across the board. Notably, Annamalai, who contested in the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat, suffered a defeat, losing by a margin of 1,17,561 votes to Ganapati Rajkumar, the DMK candidate. Annamalai came in second securing over 4.5 lakh votes.

Despite high expectancy and support from the populace, Annamalai’s defeat by such a margin of votes left his supporters and BJP affiliates dismayed. In response, a BJP executive from Paramankurichi, Thoothukudi district, made a bold wager with members of an opposing party, vowing to tonsure his head and moustache if Annamalai lost in Coimbatore.

The viral footage of the tonsuring incident drew further attention to Jayashankar, the BJP executive, who was seen wearing a distinctive chain around his neck resembling a tiger claw. This raised suspicions among forest officials, prompting an investigation into Jayashankar’s possessions. However, it was discovered that the “tiger claw” was merely a decorative item purchased from street vendors at the Tiruchendur temple a decade ago, and not an actual tiger claw. Following this revelation, the forest department concluded their investigation.

In this regard, the Hindu Makkal Katchi vehemently condemned the action taken by the forest officials, denouncing as hypocrisy. In an official statement posted on its X account, the party ridiculed the perceived inconsistency, stating, “This karyakarta shaved his head in public losing a bet on Annamalai’s loss which became news. TN Forest department promptly arrested him, to check if he was wearing real tiger claws in his chain or any prohibited animal. Remember the goat slaughter. Unbelievable…!!!”

“Indian State Wants To Erase Sikhs”, Say Khalistani Protestors As They Vandalise Indian Flag, Celebrate Indira Gandhi Assassins, Raise Pro-Khalistani Slogans On 40th Anniversary Of Operation Blue Star

Tensions flared this week after a group of around 30 Khalistani protesters gathered in front of the Indian Consulate in Vancouver, vandalizing the Indian flag and celebrating the assassins of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The disturbing display, which included effigies of Gandhi with bullet holes and her Sikh bodyguards depicted with weapons, drew swift condemnation from Canadian politicians. In the video, one of the protestors is heard (speaking to an audience) saying, “It is important for us to come together and understand that the Indian state hates the Sikhs and there is no other story but that the Indian state wants to erase Sikhs.”

Posters captioned “Assassination of Shaheed Nijjar” and “Kill Modi” were seen at the protest amid chants of “No Hindi Na Hindustan, Banke Rahega Khalistan.”

Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc stated, “The promotion of violence is never acceptable in Canada.”

LeBlanc’s firm stance against glorifying violence marked a rare move by the Canadian government regarding such anti-India protests. In the past, similar events raised pro-Khalistan slogans, prompting India to summon the Canadian Deputy High Commissioner earlier this year to express “deep concern and strong protest.”

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs criticized Canada for allowing “separatism, extremism, and violence” political space, referring to the Khalistani movement seeking an independent Sikh homeland. This statement marks a notable and firm stance by the Canadian government against such actions.

Organizers glorified Air India bombing mastermind Talwinder Singh Parmar as a “martyr.” Demonstrators also burned the Indian constitution and a Russian flag.

This demonstration follows a series of similar anti-India protests in Canada, which have repeatedly drawn strong responses from the Indian government. Earlier this year, India summoned the Canadian Deputy High Commissioner after an event in Toronto, attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, where pro-Khalistan slogans were raised.

The India-Canada relationship has been strained recently, particularly over allegations of Indian involvement in the killing of separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, though no evidence has been provided. It is noteworthy that the genocide carried out in 1984 following Indira Gandhi’s assassination did not have any connection with Modi or the BJP.

Tamil Nadu Students Shine In NEET Exam Disproving DMK’s Propaganda; Middle Class & Downtrodden Students Welcome NEET

Year after year, the NEET exam results have been foreboding for the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu, as they remain staunch opponents of these exams nationwide. The latest revelation from the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 4 June 2024, brought surprising news after eight students from Tamil Nadu clinched top ranks in the NEET exams despite the DMK’s persistent criticism of the tests. These students have consistently displayed outstanding performance through sheer dedication and a fervent desire to pursue medical careers.

Tamil Nadu witnessed a notable increase in its NEET pass percentage, reaching 58.4% compared to last year’s 54.4%. Moreover, the state surpassed the national average of 56.4%. Notably, a significant number of Tamil Nadu students secured positions within the top 100 ranks, with eight individuals from the state claiming the coveted All India Rank 1 in the NEET UG 2024 examination. This accomplishment reaffirms Tamil Nadu students’ exceptional academic prowess. In the previous year, Prabanjan J from Tamil Nadu emerged as a national joint topper, attaining a remarkable percentile of 99.99 alongside Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh.

In the current year, eight students—Syed Aarifin Yusuf M, Shailaja S, Aditya Kumar Panda, Sriram P, Rajaneesh P, Jayathi Poorvaja M, Rohith R, and Sabareesan S—from Tamil Nadu achieved a flawless 99.99 percentile, securing the topmost ranks. Notably, Syed Aarifin Yusuf M leads among male candidates, while Shailaja stands out as the top performer in the female category.

This year saw a notable rise in the number of NEET candidates, totalling 1,52,920—an increase of 8,404 from the previous year. Out of these, 89,426 candidates qualified in the NEET, marking an increase of 10,000 from the previous year. Additionally, 36,333 students took the exam in Tamil, showcasing the language’s popularity as a medium for examination.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, and his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, who serves as the Youth Welfare and Sports Development minister, have taken a firm stance against the recent achievements and acceptance of the state’s students. They have embarked on a new approach to address this issue.

CM MK Stalin, through his official handle on social media platform X, expressed his views, stating,Trends emerging from the latest #NEET results have once again vindicated our principled opposition to the exam. Issues such as question paper leaks, clustering of toppers at specific centres, and award of marks, which are mathematically impossible, under the guise of grace marks highlight the pitfalls of the current Union Government’s centralisation. These events emphasise the need to restore the preeminence of State governments’ and school education system’s role in determining criteria for professional course selection. We reiterate: * NEET and other entrance examinations are anti-poor. * They undermine federal polity. * They are against social justice. * They impact the availability of doctors in deserving areas. Let’s join hands to eradicate this malady. That day is not far!”

Udhayanidhi Stalin echoed his father’s sentiments through his official X account, affirming, The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam led by leader @mkstalin will not rest without putting an end to the fraudulent exam called NEET which is against social justice, the progress of grassroots people and state rights. #BanNEET”

Contrary to claims that NEET is discriminatory and against social justice, numerous success stories from economically disadvantaged backgrounds refute such assertions. Each result day brings forth tales of perseverance and triumph from students hailing from underprivileged households, showcasing their resilience and determination. Two such instances from this year serve as compelling examples.

Subalakshmi, a student from Mayiladuthurai, soared in the NEET 2024 exam with an impressive score of 639 out of 720. Her achievement stands as a beacon of hope for aspiring students, as she emphasizes the importance of self-study over costly coaching centers. Despite facing financial constraints—her father works as a flower seller—Subalakshmi’s unwavering dedication led her to secure a seat in a government college. This success came after a previous attempt where she fell short and had to forego a private college due to exorbitant fees. Subalakshmi’s message resonates with many, affirming that NEET provides an equal opportunity for middle-class students like herself to pursue a career in medicine.

Similarly, Mamatha from Villupuran, whose parents work as an auto driver and a coolie, pursued her dream of becoming a doctor despite facing initial setbacks. With a one-year break dedicated to preparation, Mamatha’s persistence paid off as she achieved a score of 558 on her first attempt. Her journey is a testament to the notion that NEET, often perceived as daunting, is indeed conquerable. Hailing from a lower-middle-class background, Mamatha’s story inspires others to persevere, regardless of their economic status.

These individual triumphs amidst challenges reflect a larger trend of increasing participation in the NEET exam from Tamil Nadu. Despite economic hurdles, more students are attempting the exam, driven by awareness and determination.

Parents, such as Kavitha from Madurai, voice support for NEET, recognizing its significance for economically disadvantaged families. They view NEET as a fair opportunity for their children to pursue higher education without the burden of exorbitant fees. Similarly, students like Sandhiya from Trichy emphasize the importance of reservation policies in leveling the playing field for underprivileged students.

Kavitha said,This is our daughter’s second attempt. She didn’t clear the exam in her first attempt due to low marks. A girl from a village has come once again saying that she will study and pass it. She has come for her second attempt and studied in a government school. As far as I’m concerned, it’s good to have NEET because we are poor and can’t afford to pay heavy sums and enroll. NEET is common for all, if we pass we’ll get a seat, otherwise not. If there is no NEET, those of us who do not have ten lakhs, what shall we do? We are farmers. Instead, we will arrange a wedding for our daughter. She took pride in her daughter’s resilience as she embarked on her second attempt, despite studying in Tamil medium. She was content with the fact that NEET allowed her daughter to take the exam in her preferred language. Additionally, she emphasized that NEET was advantageous for the economically disadvantaged, while only the affluent tend to oppose it.

Another student, identifying herself as Sandhiya from Mannachanallur, Trichy, conveyed to the reporters,Last year I gave my first attempt and this is my second attempt. After a year of self-study and coaching by myself, I’m attempting for the second time. Botany and Zoology were easy and like last year, Physics was a little tough, but Chemistry was a bit better. What I am trying to say is that some are saying now that NEET should be done with, (with hesitation). It is unnecessary because there is 7.5% reservation for government school students, right, and because of that even poor people are becoming doctors, so NEET is very important.”

Afterward, she recommended that students focus on the NCERT syllabus for their studies. She shared her own experience of attending a government school and highlighted the challenges her family faced in securing a private seat. With a score of 380 marks and the benefit of reservation, she emphasized how crucial it is for individuals to capitalize on reservation opportunities, as it could secure admission into government colleges.

Another student observed that the NEET exam has leveled the playing field for government school students aspiring to become doctors, Because of NEET, government school students are able to become doctors or else only private school (students) alone were becoming doctors because it was based on marks, with the help of NEET many government schools students are entering into medical schools, this is a happy development.”

https://twitter.com/Abitha96960262/status/1787134063398318427

These narratives highlight the positive impact of NEET in providing equal opportunities for all aspiring doctors. Despite political rhetoric and attempts to sow fear and uncertainty, students remain focused on their goals, determined to overcome obstacles and fulfill their dreams. Ultimately, the success stories emerging from NEET serve as a testament to the resilience and tenacity of Tamil Nadu’s aspiring medical professionals.

Busting Another Dravidian Claim Of Mandatory Sanskrit Knowledge For Medical Seat In TN

A few months ago, Dravidianists were sharing memes, cartoons, and caricatures claiming that knowledge of Sanskrit was a requirement for securing a medical seat in Tamil Nadu.

Here, I bust this Dravidian lie.

Medical education in Madras Presidency in Tamil (vernacular language) was made possible with significant efforts of Vaidyaratna Dr G Srinivasamurti. His expertise was lauded by both Indian and Western medical practitioners, as he presented a scientific approach to the indigenous medicine system to the then government.

Dr. G Srinivasamurti was secretary of the Usman Committee set up in the Madras Presidency in the first regime under diarchy rule.  Based on its recommendation, Indian medical schools and hospitals were started in 1925. The school had three sections – Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani.
Going back further in history under British rule, education in India was neglected for a considerable period. Macaulay’s minute on Indian education paved the way for introducing Western education to India with English as a medium of instruction.

To serve the British Empire’s military, medical education was institutionalised, with the establishment of a medical school in 1835. The colonial state was apathetic to indigenous medical practitioners.

Members of Madras LC moved resolutions (Narasimha Ayyar in 1913 & 1916, AS Krishna Rao Pantulu in 1914, 1915 & 1917, TR Ramachandra Ayyar in 1920) for the development of indigenous medicines for betterment of the health of the local population. (Incidentally, one of Justice Party founders, TM Nair, a practitioner of Western medicine resisted this while AS Krishna Rao proposed a resolution in 1915).
The colonial government had first appointed Dr MC Koman (another Western medicine practitioner) Committee, which failed with severe criticism from practitioners of indigenous medicines and native newspapers.

1918 and 1920 Congress resolutions also called for the establishment of an indigenous medical system.  With the Swadeshi and Swaraj movements, there were growing demands for indigenous medical treatment by educated and politically active Indians.
All of these events, culminated in 1921 with Madras Presidency appointing Usman committee with Mohd. Usman as chairman and G Srinivasamurti as secretary. Dr Srinivasamurti’s work is considered a magnum opus of the science and art of Indian medicine.

The committee recommended the government immediately establish colleges & schools, hospitals & dispensaries for Indian systems of medicine.  Vernacular to be the medium of instruction in all lower grades; in higher grades, it was left to be settled by teaching staff.

After much debate, a government-funded School of Indian Medicine in Madras was formally sanctioned, with three sections in Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani.  The School of Indian Medicine was thus founded in 1925 in Kilpauk with Dr. Srinivasa Murthy as its first Principal and in charge of the hospital attached to it. After careful study and practice, he evolved a system containing the best of both Ayurveda and Allopathy and named it an integral system. He stood for all that is best in any system. He is also the founder President of IMPCOPS.

As regards K A P Viswanathan Pillai’s statement “they removed the need to know Sanskrit to be eligible for medical degree”, there is no such evidence found to substantiate such a claim. This is one of the many Dravidian lies that was spread to castigate Brahmins in the state.

In fact, proof of the outcome of Dr G. Srinivasamurti’s work lies in the government publication shown below confirms the school being able to teach medical education in Tamil, Telugu, or Urdu.

The contributions of Vaidyaratna Captain G Srinivasamurti were recognised during the college’s silver jubilee celebrations. The event was presided over by the first CM of TN, PS Kumaraswami Raja. His bronze statue was unveiled by Sir CP Ramaswamy Iyer and his speech during the unveiling as given below.

NIA Seizes Assets Of PFI Member Involved In 2016 Murder Of Hindu Munnani Leader In Coimbatore

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized the assets of Popular Front of India (PFI) member implicated in the 2016 murder of a Hindu Munnani leader in Coimbatore.

The property belonging to the accused, Subair, was confiscated under the directive of the NIA Special Court in Poonamallee, Chennai. Subair, along with other accomplices, all affiliated with the banned PFI, participated in the brutal assassination of C Sasikumar, a spokesperson for the Hindu Munnani in Coimbatore. The perpetrators—Saddam Hussain, Subair, Mubarak, and Rafiqul Hassan—ambushed Sasikumar with deadly weapons while he was returning home from his party office on his motorcycle on 22 September 2016. Sasikumar suffered severe injuries and later died from them.

The NIA took over the investigation from the Coimbatore police and discovered that the accused members of the PFI had conspired to sow terror within a specific community without any provocation or prior animosity.

During their inquiry, the NIA unearthed that Subair had transferred his property, acquired in 2012, to his mother through a gift settlement deed in 2020. This transfer occurred after the crime was committed and after the chargesheet was filed, suggesting an attempt by Subair to evade legal repercussions. In 2023, the NIA petitioned for the attachment and forfeiture of Subair’s property. The special court, recognizing the validity of the request, ordered the attachment. The trial for this case began in 2022 and is currently ongoing.

Regarding this matter, the NIA issued a press release through its official X handle on 7th June 2024, ” The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the property of a Popular Front of India (PFI) member involved in the 2016 murder of a Hindu Front leader in Coimbatore. The property of accused Subair has been attached on orders of the NIA Special Court, Poonamallee, Chennai.”

“Subair, along with other co-accused, all members of the proscribed PFI, were involved in the gruesome killing of C. Sasikumar, Spokesperson, Hindu Front, Coimbatore. Sasikumar was brutally hacked with lethal weapons while he was returning home from his party office on his two-wheeler on 22nd September 2016. The accused, Saddam Hussain, Subair, Mubarak and Rafiqul Hassan, had attacked the victim in front of Chakra Vinayaka Temple, under Thudiyalur Police Station limit, Coimbatore. Sasikumar sustained grievous injuries, and later succumbed to the same. NIA took up the case from Coimbatore police and re-registered it as RC-03/2018/NIA/DLI. The agency found that the conspiracy was hatched by accused PFI members with the aim of creating terror among a particular community and without any provocation or enmity. NIA, which has already chargesheeted all five accused in the case, found during investigation that Subair had, in 2020, transferred his property, purchased in 2012, to his mother via a gift settlement deed. Since the transfer took place after the commission of the crime and post filing of the charge sheet, it was seen by NIA as an attempt to thwart legal action against Subair. In 2023, NIA filed a petition seeking attachment and forfeiture of the said property u/s 33 of UA(P) Act. The special court, seeing merit in the application, ordered the attachment.” added.

Tamil Nadu Congress Social Media Handle Posts Derogatory Cartoon On Modi, Deletes It Later

The social media handle on the X platform of Tamil Nadu Congress was under fire for posting a derogatory cartoon on soon-to-be sworn-in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to the press, Congress leader Pawan Khera called the NDA as “Nitish/Naidu Dependent Alliance”. Immediately, the Congress party in Tamil Nadu posted a derogatory cartoon portraying Modi as a differently abled person with crutches meant to imply that the Modi 3.0 government will be formed with the support of Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu.
