“Mr Gokhale, Stop Being A Troll”, Barkha Dutt Calls Out Bullying By TMC RS MP Saket Gokhale

A video of former NDTV reporter Barkha Dutt calling TMC Rajya Sabha MP “a troll” has gone viral all over the internet. The video is a clipping from a panel discussion with her and a few others on her YouTube channel Mojo Story, where Saket Gokhale expressed his frustration with how certain media outlets have been selectively portraying events related to a case in West Bengal.

https://twitter.com/mjavinod/status/1826807599637102738

He emphasized that while selective clips and facts have been used to craft a particular narrative, this approach can be misleading. Gokhale also highlighted that the West Bengal government had acted promptly in the case, registering an Unnatural Death (UD) report immediately after receiving a call from the hospital. He pointed out that this was done even before the postmortem, as the nature of the incident—whether it involved rape or homicide—was still unknown.

Gokhale criticized a specific instance in which a news report claimed that the emergency room at the RJ Kar hospital, where the incident occurred, had been vandalized. When the Kolkata police called out this report, the reporter justified the claim by stating that there was a punctuation error in the initial statement. Gokhale alleged that careless and misleading reporting has caused significant distress over the past weeks.

The reporter in question turned out to be Barkha Dutt herself! In her further comments, Dutt dismissed the opposing argument as “pure sophistry” and reiterated her stance. She made it clear that she stands by her reporting despite the police’s statements. Dutt emphasized that the police are free to pursue legal action against her if they wish, but she remains confident in the accuracy of her story.

Gokhale repeatedly interrupted and made continuous allegations against Barkha Dutt. Despite her attempts to continue speaking, Gokhale insisted on interjecting, leading to a tense exchange. Dutt responded by asserting her right to finish her point, highlighting that his interruptions were likely due to the uncomfortable nature of the discussion for him.

Dutt then said, “I think you completely reveal your absence of priority“. Following this, Dutt asked him to make his point and that she would do after him.

During the heated exchange, Gokhale accused Dutt of being biased, questioning her priorities, and even indirectly alleging that she was a BJP stooge. He began by sarcastically asking if she was broadcasting the show from Badlapur or Gurgaon, to which Dutt retorted, questioning why her location mattered. Gokhale escalated his allegations, accusing Dutt of ignoring crimes in Maharashtra because it is BJP-ruled while focusing on incidents in TMC-governed Kolkata. He referenced her column, which implied that the Kolkata doctor who was raped and murdered might have been targeted because she knew something sensitive, a claim that visibly enraged Gokhale. He persistently questioned her on this point, accusing her of suggesting the crime was an “inside job.” She then invited him to move on from his “little rant” to the actual discussion.

Dutt attempted to calm the situation, proposing to play a whistleblower’s account of the events, but Gokhale refused to listen, continually interrupting her. As tensions rose, Dutt warned Gokhale that she would have to ask him to leave the show if he continued his behavior. Gokhale, however, persisted with his accusations, repeatedly making the same points. Dutt, remaining composed, challenged him to let her respond to his allegations but stated firmly that she would not be bullied by him or any politician. She said, “I will respond if you’re willing to listen. I have heard you politely and I will not be bullied by you or any politician of any party Mr. Gokhale, Mr. Gokhale stop being a troll

After Gokhale continued to disrupt the discussion, Dutt muted him, stating that he had an “absolute absence of integrity” and dared him to call the police to sue her. She asserted her stance, refusing to be intimidated, and maintained control over the conversation by muting his microphone.

Dutt firmly asserted her stance by stating,Mr. Gokhale, you have every right to your opinion of me, but you do not have the right to bully me or silence me, and I will not be bullied or silenced by you.” She also invited Gokhale to a one-on-one live debate to discuss this further.

After unmuting Gokhale, who complained about not getting a chance to speak, he accused her of muting him to avoid addressing his points, which he claimed showed a lack of integrity on her part. Gokhale insisted that he wasn’t there to be a spectator and criticized her for muting him, stating it was unfair.

Following this exchange, Dutt asked Gokhale to leave the show, unable to resolve it due to his continued disruptions.

Netizens praised Dutt for calmly and professionally calling out TMC’s bullying.

After ₹70 Cr Home, Virtual Signaler Suriya Allegedly Purchases ₹120 Cr Private Jet; Netizens Question Hypocrisy Over Jothika’s Previous Comments On Spending For Schools & Hospitals

The internet is abuzz with the latest news about Kollywood actor Suriya, who has reportedly purchased a lavish private jet worth an astonishing ₹120 crores. This jet is said to be outfitted with cutting-edge technology and safety features, intended to help Suriya ‘manage his schedule and travel to movie locations efficiently‘. The news quickly spread and became a topic of discussion, particularly among netizens who had previously criticized Suriya and his wife Jyothika for their public preaching on righteousness. Many are now questioning the irony of their advice and wondering whether their principles apply only to others and not to themselves.

Reports reveal that Suriya purchased the impressive Dassault Falcon 2000 private jet, allegedly costing a staggering ₹120 crores. This jet boasts state-of-the-art technology and advanced safety features. Additionally, it is reported that Suriya is now the sole owner of this exceptional aircraft, which distinguishes him from other Tamil film industry actors.

Netizens Call Out Double-Standards

The ridicule and trolling directed at actor Suriya stem from the fact that his recent ₹120 crore purchase sharply contrasts with the public statements made by his wife, Jyothika. At an awards ceremony in 2020, Jyothika had emphasized the importance of donating to schools and hospitals rather than temples. She had compared the grandeur of the Brihadeeshwara temple to Udaipur’s palaces, but her experience with a poorly maintained hospital during her filming led her to advocate for prioritizing donations to educational and healthcare institutions.

Instead of criticizing the state for its handling of health services, she subtly used the platform to urge the public to direct their charitable contributions toward schools and hospitals, asserting that these sectors are more, deserving of support.

A Virtue-Signalling Family

Suriya and his family, particularly his wife Jyothika and brother Karthi have many a time indulged in virtue-signaling to peddle DMK propaganda. He was one of the frontrunners in peddling anti-NEET rhetoric and making comments against the National Education Policy 2020. His brother Karthi had called for the boycott of the three farm laws that were implemented by the Modi Government ignorant of the fact that such laws were already in place in Tamil Nadu.

After the DMK came to power, Suriya along with his family moved to Mumbai and currently lives in a sea-view house allegedly worth ₹70 crore. Despite Suriya residing with his family in Mumbai, armed policemen continue to guard his Chennai residence, courtesy of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu.

Furthermore, Suriya runs anon-profitorganization called the Agaram Foundation and has resorted to virtue-signalling by being vocal for causes espoused by the ruling DMK. He is known for his anti-NEET stance when he claimed it filters away those aspiring to study medicine but Suriya’s hypocrisy shines through his teeth when one looks at the selection process for students seeking financial help for higher education through Agaram Foundation run by the actor. According to the Agaram Foundation’s website, they have a rigorous scoring system in place to identifydeservingstudents. This requirement contradicts the stated mission of promoting education and social equality.

While their acquisition of a new private jet is a personal decision, their public statements often project a sense of virtue that they don’t seem to uphold. This discrepancy has only heightened their hypocrisy meter to a new level.

Netizen Criticism

One netizen trolled actor Suriya, saying,Didn’t Jyothika advise you that, this money could have been used to build 50 schools?”

Another netizen asked, How many schools and hospitals can be built with this money”

Another netizen echoed the same stating, “With this money, many schools and hospitals can be constructed. Why didn’t @ActressJothika tell her husband @Suriya_offl this advice?”

TMC MP Saket Gokhale Shares Fake News Card Attempting To Fact-Check India Today; Gets Fact-Checked

On 22 August 2024, India Today reported that the CBI told the Supreme Court of a coverup in the Kolkata medical intern rape and murder case. TMC Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale dismissed the report as fake news, but it was later exposed that he used a fake fact-check card, misleadingly attributed to India Today, in his defence. The media outlet has since clarified that they did not issue the card, but Gokhale hasn’t apologised for spreading misinformation.

The India Today Report

India Today reported that CBI informed Supreme Court that the seminar hall where the Kolkata medical intern was raped and murdered had been compromised. They also noted that the CBI stated categorically that there was a coverup. This news was shared by India Today reporter Akshita Nandagopal on her social media platform X.

Saket Gokhale Misinforms

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale, who has a history of peddling fake news in his previous avatar as an activist, claimed that the news reported was fake and only forsensationalism. He wrote, Fake news for sensationalism.  I’ve been watching every minute of the proceedings & the court has NOT observed anything of this sort (no matter what CBI says). Been silent for the last 9 days but it’s time to call out the brazen fake news being run by this channel.”

He put out an image that was allegedly a fake news check by India Today. The image carddebunkeda claim that Kolkata Police had vandalised all evidences pertaining to the case. The image card, posted by India Today’s Anti-Fake News War Room, shared the truth regarding this claim. It said, CBI in its official report has stated all investigating documents and scene of crime were videographed by Kolkata Police. No evidence has been tampered.”

India Today Retorts

It appeared later that someone had been impersonating India Today’s fake news checking unit! India Today’s official handle stated, India Today Fact Check has not issued these postcards. Our old template and logo have been misused to create such posts. You can find our fact-check stories on our official websites and social media accounts.”

Akshita Nandagopal, in a post replying to Saket Gokhale, wrote, Hi @SaketGokhale, I choose to largely ignore your obviously motivated posts, but this is FAKE- it’s not India Today’s property… amazing that you don’t FACT CHECK before tweeting If only TMC MPs spent as much time ensuring justice for Abhaya as much as they’re spending on social media”

Despite learning that he had (albeit) inadvertently shared a fakefact checkcard, Gokhale has not responded or apologized for making the allegations against India Today.

This seems to be a prevalent trait among leftists, anti-nationals, and pro-Congressis who claim one thing, spread fake news, and then when exposed, do not apologize or issue a rectification or delete their post.

AP Dy CM Pawan Kalyan Launches “Swarn Gram Panchayat” Initiative To Revitalize Rural Development; To Hold 13,326 Gram Sabhas In A Single Day

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government is launching the “Swarn Gram Panchayat” program to promote sustainable village development through Gram Panchayats. This novel program will concentrate on four key areas of rural development, aiming to rejuvenate neglected village panchayats throughout the state.

On 23 August 2024, Konidala Pawan Kalyan, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Panchayat Raj, held simultaneous gram sabhas across 13,326 village panchayats. This event will mark the official launch of this ambitious Swarn Gram Panchayat program.

At a press conference at his camp office in Mangalagiri on 22 August 2024, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced that 87 projects under the MGNREGS program had been approved, totalling an investment of ₹4,500 crores. He also mentioned that the meetings will finalize the action plan for generating 9.54 crore man-days under MGNREGS.

He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is the second state to implement the Panchayat system and is now introducing second-generation reforms to enhance it. Reaffirming the state government’s pledge to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system, Pawan Kalyan noted that funding for national festival celebrations at the panchayat level has recently been increased a hundredfold. Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the Gram Sabha meetings are designed to be more than mere formalities; they will embody the essence of democracy by making collective decisions aligned with the 73rd Constitutional Amendment’s goal of self-rule and self-sufficiency.

Pawan Kalyan emphasized that “Gram Sabha is not like just any other meeting held for the sake of holding a meeting. It will reflect the true spirit of democracy, where collective decisions will be taken. They will be in tune with the objective of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, which is self-rule with the ultimate objective being self-sufficiency,” and stressed that officers must handle their responsibilities with utmost care to ensure the successful conduct of the Gram Sabha.

He criticized the previous administration led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the Panchayat Raj system was mismanaged and that MGNREGS projects were not implemented despite allocating central funds. He claimed that between 2019 and 2023, ₹40,579 crore was released under MGNREGS without yielding visible results, citing misuse during the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant drop in panchayat revenues.

Pawan Kalyan pledged to transform panchayats into wealth-generating entities by utilizing vacant village lands and promoting local specialities, such as handlooms, crafts, or food. He emphasized that women’s empowerment will be a crucial aspect of village development, and social forestry will also be explored as a source of income.

He also criticized the previous government for neglecting social audits and pointed to issues with the Jal Jeevan Mission, citing irregularities and concerns about groundwater exploitation. He stressed the importance of water recycling in addressing problems such as fluoride contamination.

Meta’s Instagram Suspends OpIndia’s Account, Reinstates Later; Congress Supporters Celebrate Suspension

Instagram OpIndia

Meta’s Instagram recently suspended the OpIndia account, citing vague policy violations related to restricted items. This sparked widespread criticism and accusations of arbitrary censorship. The account was reinstated following the backlash, but the incident has raised concerns about the platform’s commitment to free speech and fair treatment.

Reason for Suspension

The pop-up message stated that OpIndia’s handle may have violated policies related to the ‘buying, selling, or exchange of items restricted by governments’. The platform listed examples such as firearms, animal parts, tobacco, alcohol, or drugs as prohibited items. This suspension came as a surprise, especially since OpIndia is a news platform not involved in any such activities. Instagram’s reasoning was widely criticized as nonsensical, with many suggesting that the decision reflected a broader pattern of arbitrary censorship by Big Tech companies.

The suspension was met with widespread criticism, with many pointing out that the reasoning provided by Instagram was not only vague but also illogical. Some critics suggested that this incident was indicative of a broader issue where social media companies use their power to silence voices they disagree with, without offering a legitimate or coherent explanation.

Anti-national, pro-Congress, leftist handles celebrated the suspension.

OpIndia Account Re-Instated

However, after backlash and scrutiny, Instagram reinstated the OpIndia account, acknowledging that the suspension could have been a mistake.

The reinstatement was celebrated by OpIndia, with its Chief Editor, Nupur Sharma, sarcastically noting that Meta had finally realized they ‘weren’t involved in selling guns or animals’ on Instagram, calling the initial suspension decision as one made by “a bunch of noobs.”

Critics argue that such actions undermine trust in these platforms and question their commitment to free speech and fair treatment of all users.

Notably, platforms controlled by Meta—Facebook and Instagram—shadow ban pro-Hindu handles.

The Commune has faced this on Facebook. Our posts on Rahul Gandhi and Hindenburg were repeatedly taken down even though we challenged the decision. No plausible explanation has been given to date.

Madras HC Allows Hindu Munnani Protests On Bangladesh Crisis, Questions TN Govt’s Selective Permitting Of Demonstrations

Hindu Munnani gets HC nod for Bangladesh protest

On 21 August 2024, the Madras High Court delivered a significant blow to the Tamil Nadu state government by authorizing State-wide demonstrations organized by Hindu Munnani to protest against the persecution of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The court also questioned why protests in Tamil Nadu expressing solidarity with Tamils in Sri Lanka or condemning the genocide in Gaza are allowed, while similar demonstrations addressing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh are not permitted in the state.

These comments from the court come in the backdrop of a Hindu Munnani office-bearer petitioning the Madras High Court, requesting an order for the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to authorize demonstrations across the State to urge the Central government to take immediate action to halt the genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Court Slams DMK Govt

On 16 August 2024, Justice G. Jayachandran instructed a government pleader to gather instructions by 21 August 2024 and explain why the Hindu Munnani’s demonstration requests had been denied. During this period, the court also suggested that the requests be reconsidered. In a subsequent hearing, the bench headed by Justice G. Jayachandran instructed the State police to permit the organization to hold peaceful demonstrations between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on 27 August 2024, provided they do not disrupt road traffic.

Senior counsel G. Karthikeyan, representing Hindu Munnani, informed the court that while many individuals, organizations, and political parties in the country have spoken out about the victims in Gaza, there has been little support for minorities facing violence in Bangladesh. Consequently, Hindu Munnani sought to organize protest demonstrations across Tamil Nadu to urge the Central government to take immediate action to protect Hindus in Bangladesh. However, the State police had initially denied permission for these protests. The government pleader further argued that the situation in Bangladesh had improved since the interim government began addressing the violence, and thus, demonstrations were unnecessary. The advocate also expressed concerns that the protests might provoke unrelated issues.

The judge came down heavily stating, “We have seen demonstrations expressing concern over genocide in Sri Lanka. State had no difficulty in providing permission for those demonstrations,” and also the improvements by the interim government were a recent development, whereas the petitioner had applied for permission to demonstrate as early as 8 August 2024, with the initial reasons for denial being insufficient. He emphasized Hindu Munnani’s democratic right to peaceful protest. The judge ruled that the petitioner organization should proceed with their demonstration. If issues arise, the judge noted, the police could take appropriate action.

Hindu Munnani Post

Consequently, Hindu Munnani, through its official X account, has announced a State-wide demonstration on 27 August 2024, to draw the Central government’s attention to the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh. The organization questioned, “Can’t you see the suffering of Bangladeshi Hindus? nor you considered that this will not happen to us tomorrow?” They urged supporters to join the demonstration on Tuesday, 27 August 2024.

Bangladesh: Islamist Students Force Bangladeshi Hindu Professors To Resign

Islamists in Bangladesh are systematically forcing Hindu professors to resign amid escalating minority persecution. The campaign, which has led to the forced resignation of numerous Hindu educators, reflects a broader effort to marginalise and expel minority Hindus from the country. Reports highlight harrowing accounts of intimidation and coercion since the coup that ousted Sheikh Hasina.

Hindu Persecution in Bangladesh

The crisis in Bangladesh began on August 5, 2024, when a coup resulted in the ousting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the chaotic aftermath, Islamists exploited the situation to launch violent attacks against the Hindu community. Minority Hindus in Bangladesh are facing daily persecution, including numerous deaths, rapes, and the widespread destruction of Hindu homes, shops, and temples. Further complicating the situation, student vigilante groups have emerged, enforcing strict Islamic practices and delivering sermons on “rightful conduct.” These groups have taken it upon themselves to police public behaviour, including warning smokers to quit and dictating that merchants limit their profits to a mere 5 taka per sale.

Hindu Teachers Forced To Resign

In the wake of these events, a disturbing trend has emerged targeting Hindu educators across the country. The forced resignation of Sonali Rani Das, an Assistant Professor at Red Crescent Nursing College in Dhaka, exemplifies the growing persecution faced by Hindu professionals in Bangladesh.

On August 19, 2024, Sonali Rani Das was the centre of a harrowing ordeal that led to her forced resignation. In a press conference held at Dhaka’s NatiDhaka’sess Club, Das recounted her traumatic experience with tears in her eyes. She described how students cornered her in her office, presented her with a pre-printed resignation letter, and demanded immediate resignation.

She said, “Students forced me to resign. They brought a printed resignation letter, gheraoed and intimidated me to resign. They grabbed my hand and took my thumb impression on the resignation letter.”

With tears” in her eyes, she continued, “They kept me captive in my office for 4-5 hours. They didn’t even let me use the washroom. I was told I could use the washroom only if I signed the resignation letter. Yet, I didn’t sign the letter. They forcefully took my thumb impression. I was humiliated, and they threatened me with physical harassment. After taking my thumb impression forcefully, they took the letter to the board’s chairman and submitted it. They harassed me, made videos, and posted those on social media.”

Sadly, Sonali Rani Das is not the only Hindu professor in Bangladesh to face this onslaught. Reports suggest that as many as 60 Hindu teachers, professors, and government officials in Bangladesh were forced to resign in recent days. This systematic targeting of Hindu educators appears to be part of a more extensive campaign of persecution against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh.

Hindu Teachers Targeted

Gautam Chandra Pal, a chemistry teacher at Azimpur Government College, was once felicitated as the best chemistry teacher and was forced to resign by Muslim students.

Students gheraoed Khuku Rani Biswas, who was in charge of Jessore Nursing Institute, in her office for five hours as they demanded her resignation.

Mihir Ranjan Halder, the Vice Chancellor of Khulna Engineering and Technology University, was forced to resign on August 12, 2024.

Islamist groups also forced Ratan Kumar Majumdar, the principal of Puranbazar Degree College in Chandpur, to step down.

Soumitra Sekhar, the Vice Chancellor of Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Moymonsingha district, was forced to resign on August 14, 2024.

https://twitter.com/hindu8789/status/1825179028611117083

Principal Subodh Chandra Roy and staff Nirmal Chandra Roy at Setabganj Government College in Dinajpur district are facing demands to resign.

Leaked Telegram Messages Confirm Planned Hindu Genocide

A few days ago, we reported about leaked Telegram messages from private Jamaat-e-Islami and opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) groups. These messages revealed a disturbing campaign to marginalise and expel Hindus from Bangladesh following the August 5 coup. These messages outlined a strategy to remove Hindu officials, frame their persecution as a political conspiracy, and exacerbate violence against the community.

One of the messages, allegedly circulated within a pro-Jamaat group and forwarded from a private BNP channel, outlined a chilling strategy: If we want to create a Bangladesh free from Hindus, we must first force all the major Hindu government officials to resign and ensure that Muslims are recruited instead. It will weaken the resolve of ordinary Hindus, and they will be forced to leave for India. We have started our work; if you know any such Hindu public servants, please help us by providing information.”

The situation has not improved under Muhammad Yunus’s Administration. Reports indicate that 363 municipal mayors, 60 district councils (Zila Parishad), and 493 upazila chairmen were removed, further destabilising the country.

As Bangladesh grapples with this crisis, the international community is still silent. Systematic targeting of Hindu professors and professionals in Bangladesh violates fundamental human rights.

‘Monkeypox Caused By Monkeys’, Says Alleged Writer Saba Naqvi; Netizens School Her On Virus, Refuses To Accept Mistake

Alleged writer and a mouthpiece of the leftists and Islamists, Saba Naqvi, posted a series of ludicrous tweets about monkeypox, where she implied a connection between the virus and the rising monkey population in Delhi. Naqvi’s comments, which suggested that monkeypox is caused by monkeys and called for their population control plan, left netizens baffled and questioning her understanding of the virus.

Despite widespread ridicule and corrective responses from X users, Naqvi doubled down on her statements, citing the World Health Organization (WHO) to justify her erroneous claims. Her persistence in the face of factual errors raises severe concerns about the credibility of some of the voices shaping public discourse in India today.

Taking to her official X handle, she wrote a thread as if she had made a discovery that no one had done yet. She wrote, Just witnessed a monkey attack in my park. The larger question is with #monkeypox declared a global epidemic, is there any plan for India and Delhi where monkey populations are rapidly increasing? Let’s get a plan from @MoHFW_INDIA and in Delhi from @msisodia @Saurabh_MLAgk @LtGovDelhi and any authority. Over time due to deforestation, I presume the monkey population has just increased. Delhi is a city of lovely parks but in many now it’s not safe to send children out as monkeys have taken over. Anyone who rules Delhi needs to make a plan to save public spaces from monkeys. And there must be a way to keep them out for instance in Lodhi garden I never see monkeys, but all south Delhi parks are now overrun including archaeological sites.”

Yes, you read that right.

According to theillustriousSaba Naqvi, monkeys cause monkeypox. She called for controlling the monkey population. Netizens were bewildered by reading her statements and questioned her knowledge and common sense.

Netizens Ridicule Naqvi

Some trolled her by saying that because Naqvi concluded that monkeys caused monkeypox, perhaps chickens caused chicken pox and cowpox by cows. One wonders what smallpox could be caused by—dwarfs? Small children?

Here are some reactions.

Naqvi Mis-cites WHO

Despite being corrected by netizens, Naqvi stubbornly clung to her erroneous views. She even attempted to back them up with a misinterpreted WHO reference.

Even though netizens trolled her for ignorance, Naqvi did not retract her post or accept her folly.

In another post she tried to justify her statements – with proof from WHO!! She wrote,From WHO site. The monkeypox virus was discovered in Denmark (1958) in monkeys kept for research and the first reported human case of mpox was a nine-month-old boy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC, 1970). Mpox can spread from person to person or from animals to people.”

What Is Monkeypox And How Is It Caused?

Monkeypox is a disease caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), but despite its name, it doesn’t originate from monkeys. The disease is not as common as other pox infections. The virus was first identified in 1958 from a monkey in Africa, leading to its misleading name. However, researchers now believe that rodents, particularly those in Central and West Africa, serve as the primary reservoir for the virus. In addition to rodents, the virus can also infect other animals, including certain non-human primates like anteaters, hedgehogs, prairie dogs, squirrels, and shrews.

Transmission: Monkeypox can spread to humans through direct contact with the blood, bodily fluids, or skin lesions of infected animals. Human-to-human transmission occurs primarily through respiratory droplets, contact with infected body fluids or lesions, or contaminated materials like bedding.

Symptoms: Monkeypox’s symptoms are similar to but milder than smallpox’s. They include fever, headache, muscle aches, and a distinctive rash that starts on the face and spreads to other body parts. The rash progresses through several stages, from macules to pustules, before forming scabs and eventually falling off.

Incubation Period: The incubation period for monkeypox is usually 6 to 13 days but can range from 5 to 21 days. During this time, the virus replicates in the body before symptoms appear.

Treatment: There is no specific treatment for monkeypox. The management of the disease is primarily supportive, focusing on relieving symptoms. Antiviral drugs like Tecovirimat (TPOXX) have been used experimentally in some cases. Vaccination against smallpox is about 85% effective in preventing monkeypox.

Despite being corrected, Naqvi remains unwilling to step down from her high horse. She couldn’t acknowledge her lack of knowledge with humility. If this is the standard amongjournalists,‘ ‘columnists, and writers in the country, it raises concerns about the quality and accuracy of the ‘facts’ they churn out.

Hindu Munnani Thwarts Missionaries Attempting Conversion Of School Children In Perambalur

Hindu Munnani Thwarts Missionaries Attempting Conversion Of School Children In Perambalur

The Hindu Munnani has once again thwarted an attempt by Christian missionaries to distribute sweets and Bibles to schoolchildren at Perambalur Government Higher Secondary School, allegedly as an incentive for forced conversion.

Hindu Munnani Video On Missionaries

According to a statement from the Hindu Munnani on their official X account, there have been increasing incidents of forced Christian conversion in Perambalur. On 22 August 2024, near the Perambalur Government Higher Secondary School and District HQ Hospital, missionaries were reportedly conducting a religious campaign by handing out sweets and Bibles to students on their way to school. Hindu Munnani representatives who were passing by questioned the missionaries about their activities. When asked if they were attempting to convert the children, the missionaries reportedly responded with threats before leaving in their vehicle.

A Hindu Munnani functionary said, “You are going door to door distributing books, and we are continuously stopping you.” The missionary then returned to his car, opened the back door, and revealed a pile of cardboard boxes filled with Bibles. He opened one box and approached the functionary with a bible to distribute it. When confronted, the missionary tried to retreat to the car.

As the missionary attempted to retreat, another Hindu Munnani functionary said, “Sir, give us that book; it’s our evidence.” The missionary replied, “What evidence? Take my face as evidence,” and tried to push the Hindu man. The exchange of words escalated, and the missionary hastily retreated, driving off in his car.

The Hindu Munnani has criticized the police for not addressing these activities in predominantly Hindu areas. The party questioned police actions if someone were distributing books like Thiruvasakam and Shiva Purana among Muslims and Christians.

They have called for introducing the Prohibition of Compulsory Conversion Act to prevent such activities.

Missionaries in Tamil Nadu

Missionaries have recently adopted a troubling new strategy of targeting young, naive children for conversion, a tactic that follows previous interventions by The Hindu Munnani. Previously, Hindu Munnani had stepped in to halt alleged conversion efforts aimed at underprivileged children through Sunday summer classes. Now, missionaries are reportedly focusing on young children in Theni and Madurai districts in Tamil Nadu, attempting to convert them to Christianity without their parent’s knowledge by promoting the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Hindu Munnani has successfully intervened in these attempts.

The first incident took place in the Keerathurai area of Madurai city. Christian missionaries were conducting ‘Sunday classes’ for underprivileged Hindu boys and girls, during which they preached that “Jesus is good and has come to save the world.” Once locals became aware of these activities, they alerted The Hindu Munnani, who quickly intervened and stopped the classes. An FIR was filed at the Keerathurai police station, and the children were safely returned to their parents.

In another case in Chinnamanur, Theni District, missionaries held a summer class for Hindu boys at an unauthorized prayer hall near Potiyamman Temple. During this class, these missionaries attempted to convert these students to Christianity. The boys were reportedly given crowns with Jesus’ image and name badges featuring Jesus stickers. Christian missionary James Raja was identified as orchestrating this illegal conversion effort involving over 30 children. Hindu Munnani activists intervened, halted the conversion process, and alerted the parents to the potential conversion attempts.

TISS Bans “Progressive Students Forum” Amid Allegations Of Misconduct And Anti-National Activities

On August 19th, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai officially banned the Progressive Students Forum (PSF) student organisation. PSF is affiliated with the Left-leaning Students Federation of India (SFI). TISS issued a notice accusing PSF of misleading students and tarnishing the institute’s reputation. This action followed the earlier suspension of Ramadas Prini Sivanandan, a PhD student and PSF member, in April for repeated misconduct and activities deemed anti-national.

The notice, signed by Registrar Professor Anil Sutar, labelled PSF as an “unauthorised and illegal forum” on campus. It alleged that the group had been obstructing the institute’s operations, fostering division among students and faculty, and defaming the institution. The notice stated that PSF was misleading and distracting students from their academic focus and harmonious campus life.

According to a report by OpIndia, TISS warned PSF members of immediate consequences if they participated in any campus events. The institute also urged students to report any interactions with PSF members to campus security, assuring confidentiality in handling such reports. TISS emphasised its commitment to maintaining a safe and collaborative academic environment, warning that any student or faculty member found supporting or associating with PSF’s divisive ideologies would face disciplinary action.

Ramadas Prini Sivanandan

On April 18th, TISS suspended Sivanandan for two years for “repeated misconduct and anti-national activities.” His suspension followed his involvement in a protest against the Centre’s policies. The institute viewed this participation as a violation of discipline.

The suspension also barred him from TISS campuses. A show-cause notice questioned his actions, including screening controversial documentaries and organising unauthorised events. Ramadas, also an SFI member, allegedly used TISS resources for political purposes. The administration claimed such actions damaged the institution’s reputation.

PSF – A History Of Controversy

According to a report by the Indian Express, PSF members were surprised by the timing of the ban. TISS issued the ban minutes before a PSF signature campaign complaining to the TISS Chancellor regarding various issues.

PSF has been involved in several contentious events over the past few years. In January 2023, they screened the banned BBC documentary “India: The Modi Question.” They also protested outside the director’s residence in March 2023 for cancelling a lecture featuring speakers Harsh Mander and Aishe Ghosh.

PSF has also opposed changes to TISS’s admission process, specifically discontinuing its entrance test in favour of CUET results. Social media activity reviewed by OpIndia revealed that PSF has consistently supported the “Palestinian cause” and posted anti-Israel content, including the controversial slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” This post appeared five days after a terrorist attack by Hamas that killed 1,300 Israelis and foreigners.

Additionally, PSF expressed solidarity with Newsclick’s Prabir Purkayastha. Officials arrested Purkayasthan under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for allegedly receiving funds from China for anti-India activities.

PSF and five student organisations issued a statement in April 2024 against TISS’s circular on the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. PSF has been active on campus for over a decade. Several PSF members, including the outgoing vice president, hold positions in the Student Union.
