Russia Rubbishes ‘Fake Reports’ On Enhanced Ties With Pakistan, Slams Attempts To Derail Relationship With India

Russia on Friday rubbished “fake reports” which cited that it is broadening economic ties with Pakistan, especially by jointly setting up steel mills in Karachi. Pakistani media recently reported that Moscow and Islamabad are working on expanding industrial collaboration by establishing new steel mills in the country in a bid to revive the cooperation witnessed between the two countries in the 1970s when the Soviet Union designed and funded Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).

The idea, reported Pakistani media, was discussed during a meeting between Haroon Akhtar Khan, a Special Assistant to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, and Moscow’s representative Denis Nazaroof held in Islamabad on May 13. “The two officials engaged in extensive talks on the prospect of collaboration and agreed to form a joint working group to facilitate the establishment of a steel mill in Karachi,” The Express Tribune reported after the meeting.

“Pakistan is a secure and thriving hub for investment and the international community has recognised its potential,” Khan was quoted as saying during the interaction. The reports triggered concerns and also raised doubts considering that cash-strapped Pakistan’s economy continues to survive on bailout packages provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Sources in Moscow admitted negotiations taking place on the issue but slammed reports which claimed that a “multibillion dollar contract” has been signed between the two countries.

They reckoned that by manufacturing fake and “completely fabricated” reports, Pakistan has made yet another failed attempt to dent the time-tested India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership which has grown even stronger during Operation Sindoor targetting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), earlier this month.

“An exaggerated news from someone who wants to derail the relationship for a sensational reason,” said a senior Russian government official on Friday when asked about his response to Pakistani media reports. As the Indian Armed Forces successfully retaliated and also inflicted significant losses on Pakistan, the Russian-made air defence missile system S-400 was credited with shooting down several incoming missiles from across the border.

At the same time, jointly developed with Russia and now largely manufactured in India, the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles were used to strike high-value targets in Pakistan. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov had lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership while also praising New Delhi for identifying, tracking and punishing the culprits behind the heinous April 22 Pahalgam terror attack which resulted in the death of 26 innocent civilians.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who stated in his phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this month that Moscow expects that the culprits behind the Pahalgam attack “will be identified, tracked and punished”, is also slated to visit India, this year. “I don’t think there is anybody, anywhere in the world that doubts the credentials of Prime Minister Modi. His strong leadership is steering the country to global prominence. Both India and Russia stand for a multipolar world order without any global power or a group of countries dominating that order. They stand for an equal international relationship. This has been reinstated in the conversation President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Modi had on May 5,” Alipov told IANS on Wednesday.

HAL Receives First Centre Fuselage For LCA Tejas Mk 1A

The first centre fuselage assembly for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A was handed over to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) by M/s VEM Technologies in Hyderabad on Friday. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said that this is the first time a major sub-assembly for the LCA Tejas has been handed over by a private Indian company.

The MoD believes that it is a significant boost to India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. According to the Ministry of Defence, the LCA Tejas Division has already received structural modules of air intake assemblies, rear fuselage assemblies, loom assemblies, and fin and rudder assemblies in the Mk1A configuration. HAL plans to extend this outsourcing model to future projects, reinforcing its in-house capacity with the expertise of Indian industry.

On the occasion of receiving the first centre fuselage assembly for the LCA Tejas Mk1A, by HAL, Secretary (Defence Production), Sanjeev Kumar hailed the partnership between HAL and VEM Technologies in accelerating the production of LCA Mk 1A. He said that there is a significant growth in defence production at a rate of about 10 per cent annually, as well as in defence exports. “This would not have been possible without the support of industries and public sector units like HAL. Security and sovereignty of the country are paramount and cannot be achieved without own manufacturing and supply of spare parts, which could meet the requirements of the Armed Forces,” he added.

The handover on Friday took place in the presence of Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar and Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of HAL, D.K. Sunil. The event marks, for the first time, a major sub-assembly for the LCA Tejas by a private Indian company. CMD, HAL, acknowledged the rapid growth of Tier 1 and MSME suppliers in the production of the LCA Tejas. He said that the handover marked a significant milestone in establishing a fourth production line for the LCA Mk1A, in addition to the two existing lines in HAL-Bengaluru and one in HAL-Nashik.

He assured that with major sub-assemblies underway, HAL will increase the production of the LCA aircraft and ensure timely deliveries to the Indian Air Force. HAL has built a national aerospace ecosystem by closely supporting private partners and providing critical inputs such as jigs, fixtures, tools, and technical know-how. This has enabled companies like L&T, Alpha Tocol, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), VEM Technologies, and Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) to produce complex sub-assemblies such as centre fuselages, fuel drop tanks, pylons, rear fuselages, wings, fins, rudders, and air intakes, the official added. In line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, HAL continues to drive indigenisation efforts in the aerospace and defence sector.

MoD said that HAL has partnered with over 6,300 Indian vendors, including 2,448 MSMEs, supporting thousands of skilled jobs and contributing to a robust domestic supply chain. In the last three years, HAL has placed orders worth Rs 13,763 crore with Indian vendors and is actively pursuing the indigenisation of complex aircraft systems and critical components across platforms.

Delhi HC Orders Removal Of Fake AI-Doctored Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Content Used For Promotions

Protecting Sadhguru’s personality rights, the Delhi High Court on Friday issued an interim order directing various online platforms to remove content misusing the name, image, and personality of Sadhguru.

Many social media users have been flagging the scams of how Sadhguru’s fake AI-doctored audios, videos and images have been circulating with the intent to sell products and gain subscribers using his goodwill and popularity.

In view of this, the Personality Rights case filed by Sadhguru and Isha Foundation came up for hearing before the Delhi High Court on Friday. The Court issued an interim order directing various online platforms to remove content misusing the name, image, and personality of Sadhguru.

Welcoming the Court order, the Foundation posted on X, “These scams include fake AI-generated videos, morphed images depicting false events, such as Sadhguru’s arrest, and misleading advertisements promoting financial investments. Isha Foundation has been proactively working to remove such fake content and prevent individuals from falling prey to these scams.”

“Do Not Come To Madurai”: MK Stalin Faces Boycott In Madurai Over Unfulfilled Promise Of Unified Caste Certificate

Ahead of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s roadshow scheduled in Madurai on 31 May 2025, the DNT Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam has launched a protest campaign in the city. Posters have been put up across various areas in Madurai, warning Stalin not to enter the city, citing betrayal of electoral promises.

The posters read, “Condemnation to the Chief Minister – DNT. The Chief Minister, who made a false promise during the 2021 elections to issue a unified caste certificate to 68 communities, and claimed to have passed a government order on 16.03.2024, is now exposed. Do not come to Madurai.”

In an official statement, the DNT Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam highlighted the long-standing issue concerning caste classification for 68 backward communities. They stated that these communities are currently issued two separate caste certificates: one as DNC for availing benefits under the state government and another as DNT for central schemes. The organization has been protesting this dual classification since 2014.

The party emphasized that Stalin’s 2021 poll promise and the GO issued on 16 March 2024, both claimed to resolve the issue by issuing a unified certificate. However, instead of correcting the classification, the government simply merged the terms, issuing a combined certificate labeled DNC/DNT, which the party calls a continuation of the same flawed system.

The DNT Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam demands that caste certificates be issued under a single name—DNT—to truly represent the community, arguing that this would not affect the state’s 69% reservation limit or cost the government anything extra. Despite several petitions and legal clarifications, no meaningful action has been taken by the DMK government.

As a mark of protest, the organization announced that on 3 June 2025, marking the birth anniversary of former CM Karunanidhi, they would intensify their demand by calling for the amendment of the government order. They further declared that if their demand is not met, the party will shift its support to the BJP in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

NEET Isn’t The End Of The World, There Are Other Avenues For Success: Vijay’s Advice To Students And Parents

vijay neet exam

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay emphasized that NEET is not the only path to success, encouraging students and parents to look beyond the high-stakes exam and support children in pursuing their individual dreams.

Speaking at a grand felicitation event in Mahabalipuram, where he honored Class 10 and 12 toppers from 88 assembly constituencies, Vijay addressed both students and their families. He distributed certificates and cash prizes, using the occasion to deliver a broader message about education, democracy, and societal unity.

While applauding the academic achievements of students, Vijay emphasized that stress should not overwhelm them. “Academic success matters, but it’s not everything. Don’t allow stress to take over,” he told the young attendees.

Questioning the narrative that NEET is the only route to a successful future, Vijay said, “Is NEET the only thing in the world? The world is much, much bigger than NEET. There are many things beyond it in which you have to succeed. So, from now on, keep your mind strong. Learn to keep it democratic.” His remarks aimed to reassure students facing immense pressure over competitive exams.

He also spoke directly to parents, urging them to nurture their children’s aspirations with empathy and guidance rather than pushing them into narrow definitions of success.

Previously, Vijay had strongly voiced his opposition to the NEET examination, arguing that it unfairly impacts students from Tamil Nadu, particularly those from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. On 3 July 2024, while felicitating high-achieving Class 10 and 12 students, Vijay aligned with the DMK’s stance by criticizing NEET. Speaking at the event, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief said, If you look at this NEET, it is a fact that the students in our Tamil Nadu, especially the rural areas, where the poor, the backward, the most backward, and the lower class, are all affected.”  Therefore, the exam discriminates against state students and should be eliminated.

Junior Vikatan Mocks Chief Minister MK Stalin’s Delhi Visit For NITI Aayog Meeting With Imaginary WhatsApp Chat On Protecting ‘Nidhi’ In Tamil Nadu

junior vikatan niti aayog meeting

In a sharp and sarcastic post, Junior Vikatan took a dig at Chief Minister and DMK chief M.K. Stalin over his sudden decision to attend the 10th NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi on 24 May 2025. For years, since the DMK came to power in 2021, Stalin avoided these meetings, always coming up with excuses. But this time, he not only showed up, he even praised the Modi government.

What changed? The backdrop speaks for itself: the massive ₹1000 crore TASMAC scam exposed by the ED, with the key figures Ratheesh and Aakash Bhaskaran still on the run. These two are believed to have close links to Deputy CM and Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi. With the heat mounting and the opposition especially AIADMK’s Edappadi Palaniswami going all out against him, Stalin’s sudden presence at the meeting raised eyebrows. Many see it as a damage-control move or worse, an attempt at compromise.

Picking up on this, Junior Vikatan released a mock “screenshot” — a satirical WhatsApp group chat from Stalin’s phone. The conversation involves several DMK ministers, poking fun at the CM’s Delhi visit including S. Regupathy (Law), Duraimurugan (Water Resources), Thangam Thennarasu (Finance), P.K. Sekar Babu (Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments), Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi (School Education), and Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister and DMK scion. Also appearing were former ministers Ponmudi and Senthil Balaji, both currently out of the cabinet. The central theme? The word “Nidhi” — cleverly playing on both “funds” and “Udhayanidhi”.

Here’s how the fictional chat unfolds:

Imaginary Screenshot From Stalin’s Phone – “Niti (Nidhi) is important Bigilu!” (Here Nidhi refers to funds)

Thangam Thennarasu, Sekar Babu, Raghupathi, Duraimurugan, Stalin, Ponmudi, Senthil Balaji…

Thangam Thennarasu: Everyone’s teasing that you went to Delhi just for the “Nidhi”, Thalaivare… 7:19 AM

Sekar Babu: Didn’t Thalaivar go there to warn the PM to release the Nidhi?! 7:23 AM

Raghupathi: Just call it “Kalvi Nidhi” (Education Fund)! 7:26 AM

Duraimurugan: From what I know, there’s only one Nidhi… Who is this “Kalvi Nidhi”?! 7:30 AM

Stalin: Both sides of the drum are being beaten… Even you guys are chanting “Nidhi, Nidhi” like the opposition? 7:36 AM

Ponmudi: I’m chilling with ‘OC’ (free) A/C breeze at home, Thalaivare… better leave this issue to me! 7:36 AM

Stalin: I’ve had enough of this headache… I’m handing over the Nidhi issue to Udhay. Ready, son? 7:40 AM

Senthil Balaji: We’re all talking here… but where’s Chinnavar (the young one)? 7:44 AM

Duraimurugan: Yeah… the whole town lovingly calls you Appa. But when Appa calls his son with love… looks like even he’s not listening! 7:45 AM

Anbil Mahesh:He must have gone to bed late after wrapping up his late-night official duties! 7:47 am

Udhayanidhi: Good morning, Pa… is there some issue? 1:18 PM

Duraimurugan: Laughs mockingly.”

The post has since gone viral.

DMK Stooge Kamal Haasan Runs Away When Reporter Questions His Hypocrisy

kamal haasan rajya sabha dmk stooge kamal haasan hypocrisy

Days after getting the nominated for a Rajya Sabha seat he was promised by his former-enemy-now-ally, the DMK, full-time actor/part-time politician and founder of the nearly invisible party in TN – Makkal Needhi Maiam, DMK stooge Kamal Haasan, was on a promotion spree for his upcoming film Thug Life.

During the promotion, he resorted to indulge in language politics, claiming Kannada was born out of Tamil and that he hated Sanskrit, and all that in what seems to be an effort to create controversy and buzz around the film.

As the comments on Kannada sparked backlash, he claimed he said it “out of love”. He also urged that complex and sensitive issues such as language origins should be left to experts in the field.

“What I said was out of love, and a lot of historians have taught me language history. I didn’t mean anything,” Haasan explained. He acknowledged that political figures, including himself, lack the academic background to make authoritative statements on linguistic history and should defer to scholars, archaeologists, and linguists for such discussions.

He added, “So the people will take care of Thug Life, Kamal Haasan and all these controversies. Politicians are not qualified to talk about language, they don’t have the education enough to talk about it, that includes me. So let’s leave all these very in-depth discussions to historians, archaeologists and language experts. Both those who criticize me for this statement of love, I spoke to Mr Shivanna, his father is like my father, elder brother, whatever you call it, we are a family, and so are the languages. If you look at it from the northern point of view, yes what they say, according to them is right. If you look at it from ‘then-Kumari’, then what I said is right. There is a third angle to it, that is what I said, the scholars and language experts, they will say both are right, but they must decide where they want to belong, with their family or the languages that came from the north. That’s up to you; it’s a democratic country. This is not an answer, this is an explanation. Love will never apologize, thank you.”

No matter what he says, Kamal Haasan has been receiving more and more backlash wherever he goes. Speaking to the press outside the DMK headquarters in Chennai on 30 May 2025, Kamal Haasan firmly stated, “If I’m wrong, I’ll apologise. If I’m not, I won’t. This is my lifestyle, please don’t tamper with it.” Reaffirming his commitment to democratic principles, he added, “India is a democratic country, and I believe in law and justice.”

At this point, a reporter questioned his hypocrisy with respect to the DMK. He asked, “When you began the Makkal Needhi Maiam party, you objected to the dynastic politics which was destroying the state of Tamil Nadu, you started your party against them. But today you are their ally. What is your answer?”

Kamal began to run away from this question but turned back only to give a vague answer. He said, “The country needs me, that is why I have come.”

“One Nation, One Husband”: Congress Derogates Indian Women To Take A Jibe At Modi Govt’s Operation Sindoor

congress operation sindoor modi

The Congress party has strongly criticized the “Ghar Ghar Sindoor Abhiyan”, calling it a political publicity stunt ahead of elections. The campaign, set to begin on June 9, aims to spread awareness of “Operation Sindoor”—India’s military response after 26 Hindu tourists were killed in Pahalgam, where terrorists forcibly removed women’s sindoor. Congress accused BJP of exploiting religious symbols for electoral gains.

In yet another instance of perversion and derogatory behaviour, the Kerala Congress X handle has mocked and defamed the Indian woman just to take a swipe at PM Modi and the central government’s successful anti-terror Operation Sindoor.

In a post on their X handle on 30 May 2025, quoting a news report stating “Modi govt to deliver sindoor to every household: Month-long campaign from June 9; MPs to walk 15-20km daily.” and their post was captioned, “One Nation, One Husband”.

This isn’t the first time the handle is indulging in such below-the-belt behaviour on social media.

Dubbed NSA Ajit Doval As ‘Desi 007’

In June 2024, the handle compared the re-appointment of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval to James Bond’s character, known for his womanizing tendencies. They dubbed Doval as ‘Desi 007’. This derogatory comparison, accompanied by a picture of actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, has been widely condemned. Netizens expressed strong disapproval, leading to the deletion of the Kerala Congress’s post.

In its now-deleted post, the Kerala Congress in its official X handle wrote, “With his re-appointment at 79, ‘Desi 007’ Ajit Doval extends his record of being the oldest Bond ever. Roger Moore was the second oldest at 57 (A View to Kill-‘85)”

In Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels, Bond’s treatment of women is portrayed as purely recreational. He sees them primarily as sexual partners with little intrinsic value beyond that. Bond tends to eschew anything traditionally associated with femininity and is reluctant to collaborate with women, fearing they might complicate matters. He holds the belief that women belong in domestic spheres rather than professional environments. Bond embodies a patriarchal mindset and exhibits traits of toxic masculinity. His negative attributes align with what is termed the “dark triad“: narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. These traits are termed “dark” due to their malevolent nature, which paradoxically attracts some women to him.

The Kerala Congress drew a specific parallel to Roger Moore’s “A View to a Kill” movie. In this film, an intimate scene featuring James Bond is followed by the fact that he’s aging. The Congress likened this sequence to Ajit Doval’s situation, accompanied by Kangana Ranaut’s image. It marked Roger Moore’s final portrayal of the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Even in an interview, James Bond actor Roger Moore commented on his personal success with women compared to the fictional 007 spy. Roger Moore stated, “I’ve always had a way with women. Throughout my life, I’ve had my fair share of beautiful companions. I couldn’t give you an exact count because I consider myself a gentleman. But more importantly, I’ve never felt the need to keep track. I’ve had more romantic encounters than James Bond,” In the 22 Bond films, where Bond is famously depicted as a womanizer, he has had 51 lovers, among whom 16 met tragic ends.

The same handle is also known to peddle fake news on derailments (when none occurred), on passenger death on the train, only to get fact checked by the authorities.

Part-Time Politician Vijay Condemns UPSC For Mentioning EV Ramasamy Naicker’s Original Name In Prelims Question Paper, Dravidar Kazhagam’s Official Website Itself Uses Original Name

vijay upsc ev ramasamy naicker

At a recent event hosted by his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), actor-turned-part-time politician Vijay criticized the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for including a question in a civil services exam that referred to E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (EVR) by his full name, including the caste-indicative suffix “Naicker.” Vijay described the inclusion as offensive and deeply condemnable.

However, his outrage seems very hypocritic. The Dravidar Kazhagam (DK), the organization founded by EVR and currently run by his ideological successors, continues to publish his full name, including the caste suffix, in their official publication Viduthalai. Notably, as recently as 17 May, the magazine featured an editorial titled “Engum Ramasamy Naicker” (“Ramasamy Naicker Everywhere”).

It’s not just recent incidents — the Dravidar Kazhagam itself often appears to highlight caste identities. For instance, a 2023 article openly celebrated “Naidu–Naicker–Nadar unity,” despite the organization’s frequent claims of being anti-caste and its portrayal of E.V. Ramasamy Naicker as the one who abolished caste in Tamil Nadu. Now, Vijay has emerged as the latest voice buttressing this carefully constructed narrative.

Vijay’s criticism appears inconsistent, as he targets the use of a caste-based suffix by India’s premiere institutions while remaining ignorant about its continued use within ideologically aligned circles.

The irony died a thousand deaths when the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) — EVR’s own ideological heirs — joined in condemning the UPSC on 26 May, despite having recently published content using the same caste-linked title.

This glaring contradiction has reignited debates around selective outrage and the lack of consistency in upholding anti-caste principles.

Speaking at the Chennai event honoring top-performing students from Classes 10 and 12, Vijay appealed to the youth to uphold democratic principles and reject societal divisions. “Democracy gives everyone equal opportunity,” he said. “Tell your families to vote responsibly—choose trustworthy, corruption-free leaders. Don’t allow caste or religion to influence your thinking.”

Drawing a parallel to nature, he said, “The sun and rain don’t discriminate by caste or religion. We must reject such divisions the same way we reject harmful substances.”

Vijay emphasized that democracy thrives on equality and freedom. “A democratic mindset is essential for true liberty in all aspects of life. Caste, religion, and creed should be shunned just like addictive drugs.”

On the UPSC controversy, he reiterated his disapproval, “Even in recent times, attempts are being made to associate casteist labels with Periyar. In the latest UPSC exam, a question was asked that framed him along caste lines. We strongly condemn this.”
