A TVK functionary has been temporarily removed from his party post after an alleged audio clip, in which he was purportedly heard negotiating a ₹15 lakh payment from a woman advocate in connection with the appointment of a government advocate in Kanniyakumari, went viral on social media.
The controversy erupted after the audio recording, which allegedly features TVK Central District Executive Committee member Aneesh Kumar, was widely circulated online, triggering political attention and criticism.
In response, TVK Central District Secretary Krishnakumar announced that Aneesh Kumar had been temporarily relieved of his party responsibilities.
According to the statement, the disciplinary action was taken on the grounds that Aneesh Kumar had acted in a manner that brought disrepute to the party.
