Persecution Of Indigenous Faith: Mishmi Widow Faces Harassment Amidst Rising Christian Conversions In Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh’s Lohit district 65-year-old widow from the Mishmi tribe, an indigenous group mostly found in the northeastern region of the state has been persecuted by the village’s Presbyterian Christians for upholding her long-held traditional faith.

According to a report in the Goa Chronicle, Sodyanglu Polong, a resident of the Mekailiang village in the Tezu tehsil—a region famous for the Parashuram Kund, which Hindus regard as sacred—has written a letter to the pastor of the Tezu Church pleading with him to ask the Presbyterian Church members not to harass her on account of her religion and to allow her to practice her long-standing customs and faith in peace.

The elderly woman described her struggle in her letter, including the tragic occasion when her Puja room, which had been used as a prayer centre without her knowledge, was desecrated by the missionaries. In the letter, Polong added that the missionaries had disrespectfully handled the animal’s skull, which was precious in her religion.

The letter also describes how Polong’s daughter-in-law became a Christian on 17 September 2023 on the grounds of the local Presbyterian Church. However, the elderly woman has also stated that she has no objections to her daughter-in-law’s recently embraced religion; all she asks is that the missionaries respect her traditions and beliefs. In the end, the old widow in her letter urged the pastor to ensure that the missionaries do not perform any prayer ceremonies at her house without her approval.

The native tribes living in the mountainous region of Arunachal practice Animism; yet, many of these groups still trace their origins to the ancient Sanathana heritage and culture. Arunachal Pradesh is also known as the Land Of The Rising Sun and the Mishmis, who can trace their origins to King Bhismak and his daughter Rukmini, who married Bhagwan Krishna.

According to reports, brisk conversions are being carried out by Christian missionaries in Arunachal and other neighbouring regions and the area is facing a serious danger to their traditional rituals and religious beliefs. Although the majority of the clan adheres to animism and reveres animal capabilities, an increasing number of them have decided to adopt Christianity in place of their long-standing customs.

In just five decades, the situation in the lower Arunachal is specifically of concern.  Districts like Longding and Tirap have been the epicenter of conversion, and the missionary footprints are spreading in central eastern regions like Lohit where the Mishmis live in significant numbers.

In 1971, the percentage of Christians in the state was less than 1%. According to a report in the Hindu Post, the Christian population of the state rose to 5% only in a decade, registering a 600%.

Supreme Court Issues Notice To DMK Govt And Udhayanidhi Stalin For “Eradicate Sanatana Dharma” Remarks

In a major development, the Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the DMK government in Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin, in response to a plea filed by an advocate from the Madras High Court. The plea sought a CBI investigation and an inquiry into a meeting known as the ‘Sanatan Dharma Eradication Conference,’ which took place on September 2. The petitioner also requested the filing of an FIR against Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at the “Eradicate Sanatan Conclave”, DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said “The title of this conference has been excellently coined. You’ve named it as ‘Abolish Sanatanam Conference’ and not ‘Oppose Sanatanam Conference’, so my best wishes to that.

Mosquitoes, dengue, flu, malaria, corona – we should not oppose these things. They’ve to be eradicated completely. Same is the case with Santanam (Hinduism). Our first work should be to abolish/eradicate Sanatanam instead of opposing it. So, my appreciations to you all for giving an apt title to the meeting.“, DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, has firmly refused to apologize for his comment characterizing Sanatana Dharma as a disease that should be eliminated. He has reiterated his readiness to face any legal consequences for his statements.

In light of this, a petition was filed by an advocate of the Madras High Court at the Supreme Court regarding the hate speech of Udhayanidhi Stalin. The petitioner of the Case title: B Jagannath v. The State of Tamil Nadu (W.P.(C) No. 001001 – /2023, Advocate B. Jagannath, alleges that the conference was organised with the intention of eradicating a specific religion, namely Hinduism.

During the proceedings, the bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi questioned the petitioner, B Jagannath, about why he did not approach the High Court first. Jagannath’s counsel argued that the case involved more than just an individual ranting against a particular religion; it concerned a Minister and state machinery being directed against a specific religion. The bench responded by stating that they did not want to be turned into a police station.

However, as the petitioner’s counsel mentioned that similar issues related to hate speech were pending, the court decided to issue notice in the matter.

In his plea, Jagannath sought an injunction against Udhyanidhi, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, as well as Congress leader Peter Alphonse, DMK MP A Raja, and VCK MP Thol Thirumavalavan, and their followers, to prevent them from making any further hate speech against Sanatan Dharma or Hinduism.

The plea also requested a declaration that the participation of state ministers in the ‘Sanatan Dharma Eradication’ conference held on September 2, 2023, was unconstitutional and violated Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution.

Additionally, the plea sought a directive against the Tamil Nadu State Government Higher Education Department, ensuring that no conferences against any Hindu Dharma take place in secondary schools, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Karnataka Hijab case.

The petitioner urged the apex court to direct the state Director General of Police to submit a report on how the conference was granted police permission and why no action had been taken against the organizers and responsible organizations.

Furthermore, the plea requested a directive to the home secretary and the Director General of Police of Tamil Nadu to immediately appoint a nodal officer for handling hate speech, as per the Supreme Court’s 2018 judgment.

The petitioner raised concerns about whether permission was granted by the Tamil Nadu Police department for such conferences, as the conference’s title suggested it aimed to eradicate a particular religion.

The plea also questioned whether political interference played a role in granting permission for these conferences and why the organizers had not been arrested if no permission was granted.

Finally, the plea alleged that there was a state-sponsored propaganda against Sanatan Dharma in Tamil Nadu, with meetings and conferences being used to malign the religion, particularly targeting young students.

Scam 2023: Swiggy Accused Of Swindling Approx ₹3 Extra From Every Order Slyly

In a development that could be labeled as a major scam, it has emerged that the popular online food delivery app Swiggy has been surreptitiously adding an extra amount of approximately ₹3 to the bills of unsuspecting customers with each order they place.

Users noticed that all Swiggy transactions were rounded up to whole rupee amounts not to the next nearest number but close to ₹3 more.

For instance, if a transaction summed up to 271.91, instead of adding a mere 9 paisa to round it up to the whole rupee, Swiggy tacks on an extra ₹3.09, a notable difference.

Many customers find this practice unjustifiable, especially considering the scale of Swiggy’s operations. Even a minor overcharge per order could accumulate to crores of rupees annually. What further raises eyebrows is that this additional income is being collected after tax, which raises questions about how Swiggy accounts for the substantial surplus they accumulate from their customers without offering any additional service or notification.

Initially, Swiggy claimed that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has mandated this rounding-up practice. Even if one assumes that RBI did indeed issue such an order, the addition of ₹3.09 to a bill of ₹671.91 hardly seems to adhere to the principle of rounding off to the nearest whole amount. When a user pointed out the fallacies in the argument, Swiggy deleted the tweet.

Many users have expressed their concern and frustration over what appears to be a systematic attempt to overcharge customers by a seemingly trusted service.

However, it remains unclear how such a practice, which seems to deviate from common rounding norms, aligns with RBI’s regulations or objectives. Many customers are left wondering how overcharging customers without prior notice can be considered a legitimate practice.

Deepak Shenoy, Founder and CEO of Capitalmind posted on X how his actual bill amount adds up to ₹255.60 but Swiggy charged ₹259.

Another customer wrote how his actual bill was 176.04 but he was charged ₹179

https://twitter.com/jshilanjanm/status/1704882398423585053

Another user shared how his bill of ₹723.5 was rounded off to ₹727

One of the staff of The Commune who had ordered lunch through Swiggy on 21 September 2023 found that the bill amount of ₹257.9 to ₹261.

Here is another.

The issue of unexplained overcharging has caused an outcry among Swiggy users, who are now demanding transparency and clarity regarding their transactions.

The Commune reached out to a representative of Swiggy for comments. This article will be updated once we receive a response.

CAA Rules Could Be Shortly Introduced To Make Way For Persecuted Non-Muslims From Pakistan, Afghanistan, And Bangladesh

According to media reports, the Modi Government will likely shortly announce the rules of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to expedite citizenship process for persecuted non-Muslim undocumented migrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh Indian citizenship.

Despite the CAA being passed in 2019, the regulations have not yet been announced. The COVID-19 pandemic and the requirement to carry out a national census, according to the administration, are to blame for the delay in forming the rules.

The essential process of constituency delimitation is anticipated to occur concurrently with the impending notification of the CAA rules. The next delimitation process, which entails redrawing election boundaries based on population data, is scheduled before 2027. The CAA has been a contentious issue ever since it was passed, with many claiming that it discriminates against Muslims. The administration, though, has persistently argued that the law is essential for defending persecuted minorities.

The Citizenship Act of 1955 was amended by the 2019 legislation known as the Indian Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The main goal of the CAA is to hasten the citizenship-granting procedure for persecuted religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Individuals from the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, or Christian communities who experienced religious persecution in these nations and arrived in India before December 31, 2014 are specifically granted eligibility for Indian citizenship under the CAA. Notably, Muslims are not eligible under this qualification standard.

Individuals who entered India from these nations before December 31, 2014, belonged to the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian communities, and experienced religious persecution, are qualified for expedited citizenship under the CAA. For these particular categories, the CAA effectively reduces the usual residency requirement for citizenship from 11 years to 5 years.

It’s vital to remember that the CAA does not, by itself, change any Indian citizen’s current citizenship status. It offers particular religious minorities from the aforementioned nations an alternate route to citizenship.

Annamalai Schools TN Reporters On Latest PG NEET “Percentile” Qualifying Requirements Issue

Annamalai To Return Chennai On 23 November

The recent announcement by the National Medical Council regarding the PG NEET qualifying percentile has caused some confusion among parents and journalists alike. Owing to the lack of understanding the press release put out by the government, journalists at a press meet with Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party head, K Annamalai questioned the logic behind the qualifying percentile.

In the midst of his En Mann En Makkal padayatra, Annamalai in his usual calm manner welcomed the question from the journalist and asked him how many seats were left vacant from the NEET last year for which the journalist had no answer. Speaking with dignified confidence, the former IPS officer went on to school the reporter about the issue.

In reply to the journalist’s question, Annamalai asked him a counter question to gauge his knowledge of the latest developments surrounding NEET. He asked the reporter if he was aware of the number of vacant seats in PG medical. The reporter did not have an answer so Annamalai reprimanded him mildly for not having done basic research. He then went on to answer the question the reporter had put forth. He said, “Last year for NEET PG, 50% was deemed as the cutoff. Last year there were 180000 seats available under PG NEET. Of these, several were vacant especially teaching courses such as physiology. Owing to this, this year the government annoucned that in case of PG, just having attempted the exam was enough for consideration. MBBS itself is a cutoff test and that is wht they are saying as 0 percentile. The certificate that one gets after clearing their MBBS exams is itself a qualification to PG. The main aim of this move is to fill the vacant seats in the teaching courses in the medical field. PG courses are allowed admissions only by merit. The admissions are based on their NEET scores only. Why this 0 percentile is introduced is that as far as entry into PG course is concerned, a pass in MBBS is enough. Importantly, the 180000 seats have to be filled and the teaching courses have to be filled primarily.

Now many candidates choose courses like dermatology, radiology than taking up teaching courses. To encourage doctors to choose other courses is the reason why 0 percentile has been introduced and only then there will be teachers in medical colleges. The government had clearly explained what this 0 percentile concept was when they introduced it. There is no controversy regarding this.

As far as NEET is concerned, it is an extrance exam for MBBS course. The PG NEET has changed its entry criteria for those who have completed their MBBS courses but the allocation of seats is only through All India counselling based on the vacancy.”

He also quoted an example to make things clear. He said, if you have scored 20 percentile, then your turn for counselling will come only when the 80 percentile has chosen their seats and you get to choose from the available courses/seats. There is no confusion regarding this, all one needs to do is to read the press release put out by the government.

The media in Tamil Nadu as previously seen has been asking questions only to the BJP while they resort to asking lame questions of the ruling DMK. In fact, the media here has never opened its mouth where questions need to be asked. But instead, they make it a point to do that with the BJP representatives, especially Annamalai.

The NEET issue is a very contentious one, mainly in TN where the DMK had promised to remove the requirement of a NEET exam for MBBS course admissions in the state. The Governor, RN Ravi, strongly endorses the exam and had vowed that he would never clear the “Scrap NEET bill” from the ruling government.

YouTube Removes ‘String’ Channel For Violating ‘Community Guidelines’

YouTube has once again acted on String channel by deleting the entire channel from its platform. What’s particularly surprising is that String mentioned on their X handle that YouTube deleted their channel without issuing any prior warnings or “strike” or intimation of violation. Instead of issuing strikes for policy violations, YouTube apparently directly deleted the channel. According to the String team, YouTube’s explanation for this action is that they found severe or repeated violations of their Community Guidelines, which led to the removal of the channel from the platform.

In the email screenshot shared by String, it is mentioned that if YouTube thinks a channel severely violated its policies, they take it down to “protect other users” on the platform. The policy states that “Channels that violate our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service may receive a strike or be terminated. Your existing YouTube channels, new channels you create or acquire, and channels in which you repeatedly or prominently feature will be terminated if you circumvent a strike restriction or previous termination.”

In response to String’s post on X, YouTube responded by saying, “we’re going to pass this along for a closer look”.

On 19 September 2023, String made an announcement about its latest podcast with Vivek Agnihotri, the director of the film, “The Vaccine War” which is slated for release on 28 September 2023.

Following this, the news that the channel was being removed from the platform came to be known. Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, BIG NEWS: Yesterday @StringReveals announced our podcast on ‘Toolkit Gang’ which was employed by India’s enemies to sabotage Indian Vaccine Project. Fearing the exposé, Toolkit Gang went on to mass report to @YouTube and got the channel deleted without any warning. Free speech messiahs want to silence #TheVaccineWar but they can NEVER silence us. Just wait and watch.”

Agnihotri also shared a post which said, First, the ‘TOOLKIT GANG’ attacked Bharat’s own vaccine, few days ago they targeted scientists who made this vaccine and now they want to silence a podcast with @StringReveals  on our scientist’s war with ‘toolkit gang’. You decide who would win this war.”

He posted this after several journalists and leftist handles talked down the trailer, calling it a propaganda film. He said the journalists who called India-made Covaxin as substandard and defamed the vaccine during the critical period of the pandemic. A case filed against her ensured she deleted the 14 fake/defamatory articles she had written.

https://twitter.com/PriyankaPulla/status/1702638392788619347

String led by Vinodh Kumar puts videos on important issues of national and international relevance attacking leftists with their detailed exposes.

This is not the first time YouTube has acted on String for their content. In 2021, YouTube pulled down a video that exposed the content of the Greta Thunberg Toolkit and included the names of various media outlets, journalists, and ‘activists.’ The reason cited for this removal by the video-sharing platform is “harassment and bullying.”

In this video, Vinodh, the host of String, elucidated the connections between institutions funded by George Soros, specific Indian media organizations, and certain ‘activists.’ He explained how they were involved in a coordinated social media campaign related to the ‘farmers’ protest, with support both from within and outside India.

The video also shed light on DIGIPUB, an association of media entities such as The Wire, Scroll, The Quint, The News Minute, Newslaundry, Alt News, etc., and how these media organisations and their associated journalists were mentioned in Greta’s ‘tool kit,’ which aimed to conduct a questionable propaganda against India.

Furthermore, the video revealed how a foreign individual named Annalisa Merelli had endorsed these media outlets to receive funds just days before Greta Thunberg shared the toolkit. String’s exposé had garnered significant attention, amassing several hundred thousand views and gaining notice from prominent figures. However, YouTube removed the video due to “violating YouTube’s policy on harassment and bullying.” The removal appears to have occurred after numerous reports were made against it.

Last time, the video was deleted, however, this time the entire String channel has been removed from the platform.

Some YouTubers like Shambhav Sharma came out in support of String team.

It is ironical that despite numerous reports and complaints, YouTube still continues to host channels that disseminate separatist content, spread misinformation, and make derogatory remarks about the religious beliefs of the majority Hindu community. Channels like Dhruv Rathee have been known to propagate false information while channels like U2 Brutus that share videos making derogatory comments about Hindu deities and scriptures have been given a free pass.

The question now remains whether the String channel will be reinstated after an appeal or will remain permanently deleted.

Objections By Andhra Pastor Halts Ganesh Chathurthi Celebrations In Vizianagaram

A Christian pastor in Andhra Pradesh had raised objected to the celebration of Ganesh Chathurthi after which it was stopped. This incident of bigotry took place in Srinivasa Colony, Srungavarapukota, Vizianagaram where the local pastor was incensed and raised objections against the celebration of Ganesh Chathurthi.

It all started when Hindu youths in the town decided to set up a pandal so Hindus could celebrate and worship Lord Ganesha for the nine-day-long annual ritual.  It was a moment of happiness as people from the community got together to celebrate the festival with devotion, reverence, and peace in their hearts.

However, the local pastor reportedly complained to the police so they could prevent Hindus from putting up the pandal and strongly insisted that no Hindu religious rituals or ceremonies take place in that vicinity. This has left the Hindu community feeling aggrieved and helpless as they alleged that the pastor violated their fundamental rights by disrupting the annual event.

The Ganesh Chathurthi festival is a very important religious event as Lord Ganesha is considered as the god who clears obstacles and paves the way for us to move forward in life. In the Hindu Puranas, the large elephant head of Lord Ganesha symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life.

As per reports, the pastor regularly employs loudspeakers to deliver Christian sermons and religious messages on Sundays, disrupting the entire locality. However, this blatant, capricious, and malicious attempt by this Christain Pastor has left many Hindus in this area despondent. After the complaint was raised, the police took action against the youth who set up the pandal and were told to come to the police station. The situation was further exacerbated when elders from the colony intervened and approached the police station to address the issue. Seeing how the situation has now turned, the police changed their stance and said the organisers must refrain from using loudspeakers during the celebrations.

But the problem did not end there for the Hindus after the youths were once again summoned to the police station, and were told categorically not to proceed with the pandal setup. The reason given was that it was unsafe for them to continue their preparations and that left the Hindu community disheartened and disconcerted, as their religious freedom was being curtailed.

As the Hindus struggled to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, they found support from the Vizianagaram Zila Adhyaksha of Adibatla Sri Kalapeetham, Shri Prakash Sharma, who stepped in to support the Hindu youths who were under siege.

Udhayanidhi Disobeys Daddy, Says DMK Was Formed To Eradicate Sanatana Dharma

With the “eradicate Sanathana Dharma” remarks by Udhayanidhi Stalin refusing to die down, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin advised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) workers not to speak about it anywhere. However, his son and DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin seems to not want to heed his father’s advice. A video circulating on social media channels, which has gone viral, shows him reiterating that the party (DMK) was formed with the goal of eradicating Sanathana Dharma and will continue to work towards achieving it.

The video captures Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks at an undisclosed event. He is saying, “Just yesterday, another swamiji from Trichy valued my head at 50 crores. Will I succumb to such intimidation? I am Kalaignar’s grandson, Thalaivar (Stalin)’s son. I will not be deterred. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was founded to eradicate Sanathana Dharma, and we’ll persist until it is eradicated.”

These statements come in the wake of MK Stalin’s earlier advice to DMK members to refrain from making any comments about Sanathana Dharma, a request made in response to several party members making headlines for such remarks. DMK MP A Raja had likened Sanathana Dharma to HIV AIDS and leprosy at an event and in what seemed like a Zoom call with other members of the left ecosystem, he said Sanathana Dharma was a nuisance to the world. DMK Minister Ponmudi also spoke at an event where he said the I.N.D.I.Alliance was formed to oppose Sanathana Dharma

With the emergence of this video, it appears that Udhayanidhi Stalin has not learnt his lessons from the past nor does he seem to want to pay heed to his father’s advice. He continues to run his mouth speaking despicable things about Sanathana Dharma and hurting Hindu sentiments continuously.

Recently, at the Mupperum Vizha event, DMK MP TR Baalu spoke about Udhayanidhi Stalin and said, “He is scared only of his father, not anyone else. He is speaking anything, thinking he can manage it later. But, I caution him to remember that it is his duty to make sure that the object he holds in his hand should not fall down and break.”

Udhayanidhi’s speech also emerges on the sidelines of what looks like “implementation of measures to eradicate Sanathana Dharma” especially when a villagers of a village in V Kalathur in Perambalur district, Tamil Nadu, were prevented from celebrating Vinayakar Chathurthi.

The Dark History Of Hyderabad Nizam Rule & Razakars That TRS And TNM Don’t Want You To Know

After the trailer of the movie Razakar, was released there is a sense of chaos and anger in the fragile Islamo-leftist ecosystem. The movie Razakar is based on the genocide of Hindus in the erstwhile Islamic kingdom of Hyderabad and it shows how Hindus were targeted in the events preceding the accession of the state into India.

Such is the impact of this film that the ruling party in Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (sorry Bharat Rashtra Samithis) leader K Chadrasekhar Rao’s son, K. T. Rama Rao said he will raise the movie with the censor board and the Telangana Police alleging that the BJP is trying to polarize the state.

On X (formally known as Twitter) Rama Rao said, “Some intellectually bankrupt jokers of the BJP are doing their best to instigate communal violence and polarisation for their political propaganda in Telangana. We will take up the matter with the censor board and also the Telangana police to ensure that the law & order situation in Telangana is not affected.”

Dhanya Rajendran who is the Editor-in-Chief of Leftist portal The News Minute said, “After Kashmir Files and Kerala Story, this is a movie that the BJP is banking on. This time, the producer is a BJP MLA. What is the BJP’s plan? What is the real history?” deriding the movie as propaganda of the BJP trivializing the massacre that was unleashed by Razakars at the behest of the Nizam.

She then asked people to read a long-winded article written by her colleague Yunus Lasania that lacked substance and some truths that were conveniently omitted.

The News Minute in its articles have attempted to downplay the religious persecution of Hindus by bringing in the classic leftist trope of “peasant struggle”, just like how leftists have been peddling the same for Moplah Massacre in Kerala in which Moplah Muslims went on a killing spree of Hindus.

The Systemic Oppression And Persecution Of Hindus Under Nizam Rule

Hyderabad was a region with a Hindu-majority population but was under the rule of a Muslim Nizam named Mir Osman Ali Khan. A poem written by the Nizam goes like this: “I am the protector of Islam and a butcher of Kaffirs“. Kaffir is an insulting term used to refer to the people who don’t subscribe to Islam.

The Nizam had around several women as his concubines and most of these women of other religions abducted in raids. He even reportedly purchased 10-12 year old girls from Nuristan (Afghanistan) as sex slaves

The rule of the Nizam was characterized by intrigue, inequity, injustice and widespread oppression of the majority Hindu populace.

In the Hyderabad of Nizam’s era, Muslims constituted just 13% of the population, yet they held a disproportionate 77% of gazetted government positions. Among government officers, 88% at higher levels and 82% at lower levels were Muslims. Conversely, Hindus faced marginalization not only within the government but throughout Hyderabad as a whole.

In 1891, Hindus made up 90.53% of the population. By 1911, when Osman Ali Khan assumed power, the Hindu population had reduced to 86.15%. By the end of his reign, Hindus had dwindled to just under 80%. To reduce the Hindu population, the Nizam imported around 800,000 Arabs and Afghans, granting them significant state privileges. Many of these foreigners formed a substantial portion of the Nizam’s armed forces. A significant number of Yemeni Arabs, found in Barkas, Hyderabad today, are descendants of the Nizam’s armies. Even his Commander in Chief, Sayyid El Edroos, hailed from an Arab background.

Additionally, the Nizam actively encouraged forced religious conversions. One individual in his service, Siddique, played a key role in founding the Deendar movement, which remained active even after India’s independence and was eventually banned in 2007 due to its involvement in bombings in South India. Siddique, under the Nizam’s directive, conducted forced conversions, some of which took place within government offices. Criminals in prisons were given the option to convert in exchange for their release, and many of these converted individuals later joined the ranks of the Razakars.

KM Munshi, the Agent General of India, in his autobiography “Hyderabad Memoirs: The End of An Era“, Hindus faced official pressure, private harassment, and threats of violence. He writes “Under official pressure, private harassment and threats of violence, Hindus were… prevented from building or repairing a temple in any locality where Muslims resided. Hindu temples were often desecrated but the culprits were rarely traced, never punished. Hindu religious teachers were prohibited from delivering discourses, while the Muslim divines, the members of Ittehad and the Deendars carried on a vigorous campaign of proselytising the Hindus.

Under the Nizam’s rule, the educational policy aimed to supplant Telugu with Urdu. State-supported education was exclusively delivered in either Urdu or English. In 1915, even the option of English was replaced by Urdu in the state’s schools. At Osmania University, established by the Nizam, Hindu students were required to dress according to Muslim standards and were prohibited from wearing dhotis and kurtas. They were also not allowed to observe Hindu festivals such as Janmashtami. Singing Vande Mataram was forbidden for students, and those who did so were compelled to issue apologies or faced expulsion. This policy was enforced in schools as well, resulting in the expulsion of approximately 1,200 students from colleges and schools. In contrast, festivals like Eid and Milad-un-Nabi were celebrated with great enthusiasm.

How The Nizam Unleashed The Razakars To Massacre Hindus

The Nizam faced a challenging decision, torn between the options of joining India or remaining an independent entity. The Nizam ultimately chose to resist merging with India and, with the backing of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, opposed becoming part of the Indian Union.

Qasim Rizvi, who led the Majlis-e-Itihadul Muslimeen (MIM, a precursor to today’s AIMIM), staunchly advocated for the Nizam’s alignment with Pakistan. However, the majority of Hyderabad’s residents expressed a desire to unite with India. Civil movements, spearheaded by Arya Samaj, Hindu Mahasabha, and Hyderabad State Congress, emerged to champion the rights of Hindus in Hyderabad and advocate for the state’s integration into the Indian Union.

In anticipation of potential unrest, the Nizam authorized the establishment of the Razakars, led by Kasim Razvi, which functioned as a paramilitary wing of the MIM.

The Nizam had become a puppet in the hands of Rizvi who mobilized a fanatic Razakar militia. The Razakars, at the behest of the Nizam, went on a rampage going village after village plundering, kidnapping and murdering people. The Nizam virtually presided over a large scale massacres of Hindus.

During the Vijayadashami celebration in 1947, as women observed the Bathukamma festival and boarded a train at Wadi station, they were forcibly removed at Gandalpur and loaded onto trucks to be taken to a nearby police station. At the police station, these women were subjected to cruel treatment, including disrobing, repeated beatings, and being forced to dance.

On the fateful days of May 9-10, 1948, approximately 2000 Razakaars descended upon the Hindu village of Gorta. They desecrated temples, forcibly removed residents from their homes, and began a ruthless slaughter that spared no one, not even children or pregnant women.

The Bhairanpally Massacre

While many are familiar with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre where General Dyer fired upon a peaceful crowd, resulting in hundreds of casualties, including children, fewer are aware of the wall in Bhairanpally, Telangana, which bears witness to the tyranny of the Razakars. The Razakars had been attempting to enter Bhairanpally since June 1948 but were repelled by villagers using traditional weapons.

However, in August 1948, during the Telugu folk festival of Bathukamma, the barbaric Razakars managed to infiltrate the village with the assistance of the Hyderabad State police. Villagers sought refuge in the village fortress and managed to eliminate some Razakars. Nevertheless, the overwhelming number of Razakars overpowered them. They proceeded to massacre unarmed villagers, shooting all guards at point-blank range and committing heinous acts.

On the dreadful day of August 27, 1948, armed Razakars set homes ablaze, murdered men, assaulted women, killed children and the elderly in a cowardly manner. The reason for this brutality? The villagers’ refusal to pay the jizyah tax imposed by the Nizam. Men were executed, women were subjected to rape, homes were looted, and the entire village was set on fire. To conserve ammunition, 2-3 men were lined up and shot simultaneously. Women were stripped, violated, and forced to dance in front of the lifeless bodies of their loved ones. Many residents died by leaping into open wells in agricultural fields. According to historians and village elders, approximately 118 people lost their lives.

Despite putting up a staunch resistance against the Razakars, the villagers of Bhairanpally were mercilessly slaughtered.

These accounts offer only a glimpse of the atrocities endured by Hindus in the state of Hyderabad under the Nizam’s rule.

The tyranny of the Razakars persisted until the Indian army routed them during Operation Polo in 1948. This operation led to the liberation of Hyderabad from Nizam’s control and its accession to the Indian Union.

Whitewashing Of The Dark History

In 2018, the ruling TRS (sorry BRS) unveiled a portrait of the Nizam adorning the pillars of the Hyderabad metro. The last time the Nizam was praised in public was when he died in 1967. Since then, he was not even mentioned let alone be celebrated by the state government. Such has been the dreaded history of the bigot. Such a character who was relegated to the annals of history being given a new leash of life by the KCR government tells much about the direction in which the party is heading – minority appeasement and galvanizing Muslim votes. Yet KCR’s son KTR and the leftist media ecosystem have the galls to accuse the BJP of indulging in polarization through the Razakar movie.

The Nizam rule in Hyderabad remains one of the darkest chapter in history of Deccan with targeted killings and persecution of Hindu subjects. It is this dark chapter that is being hidden by the likes of TRS aided by TNM.
