Madras High Court Allows Plea Urging Formation Of SIT To Investigate Misuse Of Temple Funds In Tamil Nadu

hr & ce

In a significant development concerning the management of temples in Tamil Nadu, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed at the Madras High Court by Advocate B. Jagannath, a practicing advocate in the Madras High Court representing the petitioner has urged the court to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into allegations of misappropriation of temple funds by officials from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Department without proper authorization and adherence to legal procedures.

Advocate P. Jeganathan, renowned for his expertise in temple and endowment cases, presented detailed arguments shedding light on the irregularities in temple fund management.

During the proceedings, Senior Advocate Shri. Ravi Seshadri, representing the petitioner’s counsel R. Kannan, presented extensive arguments highlighting the irregularities and financial misappropriation concerning temple funds. The court took note of these submissions, and after consultation with the First Bench, the Senior Advocate agreed to include the HR & CE Department as respondents and served the necessary papers to Arun Natrajan, Special Government Pleader for the HR & CE Department. The petitioner was granted permission to file a request with the registry to have the matter heard before a Special Bench of the RMDJ & PDAJ. The next hearing is scheduled for July 6th, 2023.

It is worth mentioning that Advocate Jeganathan previously succeeded in establishing the Anti-Terror Squad in Tamil Nadu through his public interest litigation.

This development marks a significant step towards addressing the concerns surrounding the management of temple funds and ensuring transparency and accountability in their usage.

Schooling Richard Dawkins On Indian Textbook Rationalization And Hindu Rationalism

Noted biologist and an atheist Richard Dawkins has peddled fake news that topics on periodic table were removed from school textbooks in India based on the misleading title of the science journal ‘Nature’.

The fact of the matter is that the periodic table topic has been moved to class 11 rather than class 9 as part of NCERT’s syllabus rationalization.

The Covid-19 pandemic caused unprecedented disruptions in education, prompting the NCERT to carry out a syllabus rationalization exercise from December 2021 to June 2022. Accordingly NCERT has been deleting overlapping and repeating syllabus for different classes of students in order to reduce the work load of students post COVID. Following rationalization, the periodic table topic was moved to class 11 rather than class 9.

However, quoting the misleading article from ‘Nature’, Richard Dawkins not just targeted the Narendra Modi government but also took to abusing Hinduism by comparing it with Islam.

I must begin by quoting Carl Sagan, the great scientist, who says: “The Hindu religion is the only one of the world’s great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond, no doubt by accident, to those of modern scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma, 8.64 billion years long. Longer than the age of the Earth or the Sun and about half the time since the Big Bang. And there are much longer time scales still.”

And you say so, Mr Richard? A rationalist doesn’t concludes without observing subject at his own. You have got it all wrong based on a “belief” that “Hinduism = Islam” and you have become a believer.

The truth is below that the periodic table is moved to class 11 curriculum while evolution to class 12 and neither is erased.

The concern rightly should be that evolution is something which must be kept at lower grade. Government didn’t erase it but placed it at wrong level. That apart how naive it is compare Hinduism with Islam when truth is diverse traditions like Buddhism, Jainism, and other Hindu schools existed together which is evident from one of the largest university India gave to world, Nalanda.

When west was gagging freedom of expression we were epitome of same. Islam and Christianity crossed swords against each other while in Indic systems did Shastrarth.

Do you have any idea that “Charvakas” sang anti theistic songs within temple premises and no one brought violence upon them? Take some time to read this.

West in the rob of Christianity ravaged wherever they went. Age of exploration was very ugly, whether it was Vasco or Columbus, they all slaughtered in mass, raped and so on.

In name of colonisation, Christianity destroyed ecosystems so bad and today’s climate change is result of that.

Have you cared to look at what colonialists did to our forests? How they killed the all indigenous practices that was deemed idolatry actually hit the environment.

The truth is very well reflected by below words of Eduardo Galeano as below in Mundo: “Cuatro frases que hacen crecer la nariz de Pinocho” (English Translation): “The invading civilization[s] confused ecology with idolatry. Communion with nature was a sin worthy of punishment (…) Nature was a fierce beast that had to be tamed and punished so that it could work as a machine, placed at our service for ever and ever. Nature, which was eternal, owed us slavery.” Read this piece.

It was only Hindu civilisation that didn’t go on kiling people to spread or to destroy environment. It flourished through soft power and that’s the reason why Voltaire whom every secular liberal likes to talk of had to say: “I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganges, — astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis, etc. It is very important to note that some 2,500 years ago at the least Pythagoras went from Samos to the Ganges to learn geometry…But he would certainly not have undertaken such a strange journey had the reputation of the Brahmins’ science not been long established in Europe.”

But for Islam (by talking of Muhammad) he says: “But that a camel-merchant should stir up insurrection in his village; that in league with some miserable followers he persuades them that he talks with the angel Gabriel; that he boasts of having been carried to heaven, where he received in part this unintelligible book, each page of which makes common sense shudder; that, to pay homage to this book, he delivers his country to iron and flame; that he cuts the throats of fathers and kidnaps daughters; that he gives to the defeated the choice of his religion or death: this is assuredly nothing any man can excuse, at least if he was not born a Turk, or if superstition has not extinguished all natural light in him.”

Hope this makes it clear.

“Chairman Of DMK Dimwits”: Annamalai Schools DMK Min TRB Rajaa On Ministerial Jurisdiction Of Amul Issue

On 25 May 2023, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah after reports emerged about Amul setting up processing plants in Krishnagiri district and procuring milk from cooperatives in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Ranipet, and Thirupathur, areas.

In his letter CM Stalin petitioned Home Minister Amit Shah to desist Amul from procuring milk from Tamil Nadu dairy farmers.

Many saw this as the DMK taking a leaf out of their ally Congress’s playbook, trying to pit state-owned Aavin issue with Amul like how Congress pitted Karnataka brand Nandini against Amul in the run up to the Assembly elections.

But that wasn’t the only angle in which the letter was criticized.

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai roasted MK Stalin for addressing the letter to Amit Shah instead of the respective body which resolves issues between different milk cooperatives.

While speaking at a BJP meeting organized in Chennai on 29 May 2023, Annamalai said “Supposing a school child gets fever, and he/she writes a leave letter saying ‘Miss miss, Please give me one day leave’, whom will the letter be addressed to? To the school teacher. Have you ever seen anyone write it to the school owner?”

He further said “Where is Amul? Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (Amul) is headquartered in Gujarat. Our leader (referring to Stalin) is directly writing the letter to Amit Shah ji. In his 9 years of service, Amit Shah ji would not have encountered such a wrong letter addressed to him. Thank god he didn’t write to Modi ji.” to a jubilant audience.

After this video went viral on social media, DMK MP TR Baalu’s son, the party’s IT wing head and currently a Minister in Stalin’s cabinet TRB Rajaa put a tweet justifying CM Stalin addressing the letter to Home Minister Amit Shah who also handles the portfolio of cooperatives.

“#Amul is a cooperative and the Union Minister for Cooperation, which oversees policies for cooperatives, is Honourable Thiru #AmitShah. TN BJP seems to have zero knowledge about their own #government and of #governance too.”, TRB Rajaa said.

Responding to the tweet, Annamalai slammed TRB Rajaa calling him a product of nepotism and the “chairman of DMK dimwits”.

He clarified that the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), which operates under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, is responsible for resolving the cross-border marketing issues involving prominent dairy brands such as Amul, Nandini, and Milma.

The Issue

Amul has reportedly set up chilling centres and processing plant Krishnagiri district with plans to procure milk from cooperatives in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Ranipet, and Thirupathur, areas which the DMK government has opposed saying it will lead to “unhealthy competition”.

Howvever, Aavin’s daily procurement of milk from farmers is a small share, 35 LLPD (Lakh Litres Per Day), compared to the state’s total production of 244 LLPD which amounts to just 14%. Aavin’s average milk procurement from farmers has dropped to 32 LLPD since May 2021, when the DMK took power in the state.

Aavin purchases milk from farmers at a rate of Rs 32-34 per litre, whereas Amul purchases at a rate of Rs 34-38 per liter, which benefits milk farmers. This has made people wonder whether MK Stalin is speaking on behalf of private dairy companies in Tamil Nadu who are concerned that Amul will reduce their market share.

On the other hand, Amul is one of the sponsors of SunRisers Hyderabad IPL team which is owned by Kalanithi Maran, brother of DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran and a member of Stalin’s family.

Many on social media had said that while the DMK-family has made money from Amul by having the company sponsor their team, the DMK government is denying Tamil Nadu farmers to make money from Amul.

Richard Dawkins Peddles Fake News About Exclusion Of Period Table In Indian Textbooks, Abuses Hinduism

Alleged Biologist Richard Dawkins peddles fake news that topics on periodic table were removed from school textbooks in India based on the misleading title of the science journal ‘Nature’.

On May 31, the science journal ‘Nature’ has published an article titled “India cuts periodic table and evolution from school textbooks — experts are baffled”

The article was misleading because it portrayed “rationalization of syllabus” as the complete removal of topics from textbooks.

“Due to Covid-19, rationalisation of courses was going on, to reduce the burden of studies on the child. If a child wants to study, Darwin’s Theory is available on all websites. In Class 12, there is already Darwin’s Theory in the syllabus so there should not be such false propaganda,” Minister of State (MoS) for Education Subhas Sarkar said.

Instead of reporting that the periodic table has been moved to class 11, the science journal has attempted to conceal this fact by stating that students aged 15-16 (typical of class 10 students) will not be studying the periodic table.

The article written by ‘Nature’ reads, “A chapter on the periodic table of elements has been removed from the syllabus for class-10 students, who are typically 15–16 years old.”

This deceptive article from the science journal ‘Nature’ was later picked up by mainstream news outlets such as NDTV, India Today, Livemint, and many others. Though the articles in these mainstream news outlets stated that the topics had been moved to class 11, the titles were all misleading, giving the impression that the periodic table had been completely removed from Indian textbooks.

Quoting this misleading article from ‘Nature’, alleged Biologist and Writer Richard Dawkins said, “Modi’s BJP is a tragic affront to India’s secular beginnings. Hinduism is at least as ridiculous as Islam. Between them, these two idiotic religions have betrayed the ideals of Nehru and Gandhi.” Several people on social media, however, countered his fake news with facts and questioned his hatred for the Hindu religion, which he blamed for the alleged removal of the periodic table syllabus.

Many on social media lashed out Richard Dawkins for peddling fake news and unwarrantedly abusing a faith.

How Dravidianists Peddle Nazi-Style Propaganda Against Tamil Brahmins

Special thanks to Reality Check India

While researching this vast topic, I came across this short video where Aravind Neelakantan says

Remember the Dravidian movement ideologically is a clone of the Nazi movement. The Nazis have their Jews, the Dravidianists have their Brahmins. The Nazis guide their Master Aryan theory the Dravidianists have their Master Dravidian theory. The Nazis saw Jews as the reason for all the problems in Germany, the Dravidianists see Brahmins as the cause of all the problems in Tamil Nadu. In fact, their ideologue, CN Annadurai, said this after the Nazi horror was exposed, sometime in the 1950s. CN Annadurai said, if we could follow the strategy of Adolf Hitler and eliminate Brahmins and if that would solve our problems, we could do that. But the real social reality is stopping us because the Aryan concepts are already there in all communities.

Let us have a look at how Brahmins are depicted across Dravidian literature and “pop culture”. A Twitter handle @realitycheckind has been tracking this peddling of hate through Nazi-style propaganda for quite some time and we have been able to collate most of such depictions from their handle.

Basically, the caricatures of Tamil Brahmins are based on 3 points:

  • They are fat, unshapely, and ugly
  • They are scary
  • They are “powerful” yet harmless but evil in nature

So, pushing the point that if there is a Brahmin around you, look at them with fear in your eyes because they are going to devour you. If we compare this with the Nazi propaganda, Jews were also described as ugly, evil, money-minded, powerful, and scary, not to forget their flowing beards – they stereotyped Brahmins as those with Shikha (tuft). This ultimately goes on to underscore what TN BJP President, K Annamalai had said in the ANI Podcast with Smitha Prakash – that Tamil Brahmins are comparable to Jews.

Nazi-Style Propaganda

The Dravidianists have made use of what is known as the Picture Superiority Effect – a phenomenon in which imagery/pictures are remembered more than text or words.

Most of the Dravidian literature about Brahmins has a few things in common, especially on their cover images.

  • The brahmin has a near-tonsured head with a tuft of hair at the back.
  • He is fat, has a paunch, wears the dhoti, and of course, the janeu/sacred thread.
  • In some cases, depending on the title and the type of content, the Brahmin is shown just next to Satan in terms of being evil.

Some other methodologies used include zoomorphism – depicting brahmins as animals. In this case, the brahmin is depicted as the 8-legged octopus. The inspiration seems to have come from (no prizes for guessing) the Nazi propaganda – as seen in the adjoining image.

In a more recent instance, a Dravidian outfit named Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam shared this poster with the words:

Do not take away the priestly right of all Hindus!

Don’t claim that the temple and God belong to the Brahmins!

Tamil Nadu government must intervene immediately!

In this the Brahmin is seen climbing and standing atop a temple, with the key at his hip, indicating that Brahmins control temple wealth, yet another stereotype shown here is the Brahmin is holding Darbai grass in his hand. The Brahmin is shown to be fat and ugly, with a hateful expression on the face – Typical Nazi stereotyping model.

In this cartoon image shared by the handle which is said to be of someone named Kabilan,

https://twitter.com/realitycheckind/status/1633040329812377603

the same stereotypes and depicting of physical features come through – the brahmin is shown as “blobs with zero musculature”. As per Reality Check India, this ‘picture superiority effect’ drills the fact into the heads of Tamilians that Brahmins are parasites that do not work, they just eat, and pile on the kilos.

https://twitter.com/realitycheckind/status/1633044875427065858

And this is not seen in just one cartoon, but plenty of them and for a very long time thereby conditioning unaware Tamilians that Brahmins are indeed ugly and fat and keep consuming others’ resources.

Here are another set of tweets, do you notice how  the Brahmin’s tuft is shown to be like a chameleon? (Zoomorphism)

https://twitter.com/realitycheckind/status/1633041959723089921

The Dravidian-Tamil propaganda toons are extraordinarily detailed, observes Reality Check India. Most TamBrahms have no choice but to be repelled and aghast.

In this set of images shared by Suren, you can notice that in the left image, the brahmin’s tuft is morphed into a snake that will “kill” the poor non-brahmin.

Again, you can notice the big fat stomach, ugly Brahmin who supposedly holds control over the Vedas, Manu Smriti, etc. On the right is a Nazi-era anti semitic propaganda poster which also shows the Jews as money-minded, and controlling (see the whip in hand).

Coming to the next creative, in this tweet we can see the clear similarities between how Nazis and Dravidianists would like to treat Jews and Brahmins.

https://twitter.com/zeneraalstuff/status/910798649013051392

On the left, Jews are punched whereas on the right Brahmins are kicked, the sentiments are the same.

Moving on to books i,e Propaganda Literature,

This book “Aariya maayai” (Aryan mAyA/Aryan illusions) was written by the very 1st Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C. N. Annadurai. The cover image shows a Brahmin with an evil smile, reiterating the stereotyping and staying true to the Nazi propaganda by depicting TamBrahms as evil.

In this thread by GhorAngirasa, also covered by OpIndia, book covers of many Dravidian literature have been covered and they all have one thing in common – vilify Tamil Brahmins.

The book titles in the thread read as follows:

  • The Brahmins who snatched money
  • Bitter truths/religious Scandals of Brahmins – depicting Vamana on the cover as the Brahmin
  • Aryan Rule – where a Brahmin is depicted with a big tummy, the conspicuous sacred thread (janeu), holding the trident (trishul)which is a Hindu symbol, and the head of the Brahmin is shown as a snake.
  • Brahmin’s Theism that destroyed Tamil Nadu – the cover image shows a Brahmin with a big fat tummy, and his tuft of hair (Shikha/kudumi) wrapped around the TN state like a snake
  • Are Brahmins Tamils? – Cover image shows a few Vaishnavite men and a woman wearing traditional clothes
  • Why did Brahmins oppose the British – this depicts Brahmins in the same oft-repeated fashion – pot belly, long Shikha, skinny hands, and another one with a turban and pot belly.
  • Brahmin Nuisance – Depicts a weird-looking Brahmin – pointy Shikha, scary face, pot belly, skinny hands as if he is in control of the High Court
  • A resounding answer/retaliation to the Brahmin fraud – a blobby-looking Brahmin with the usual marks is shown running away – ugly facial features, lack of musculature
  • Brahmins didn’t change, will not change, shudras and ashudras have changed – the brahmin in this cover pic is shown to have a huge belly, a serpentine janeu strangling the non-brahmin, holding the trishul and has a Satan-type face.
  • Brahmins’ plots and the downfall of Kings – The cover image shows a Brahmin with an evil smile and shows a king-like figure in his palm indicating that Brahmins controlled the kings and kingdoms
  • Why I am not a Hindu by Kancha Iliah (Tamil version) shows a pot-bellied Brahmin with an evil smile, an ugly face, and the sacred thread (janeu)shown to strangle the non-brahmin.
  • A cartoon from an online essay titled Shankara Matham – Den for terrorism – the cover pic insults the then Math head, Shri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal depicting him with weapons.
  • Brahmin gang entering the battlefield as a group. We will reclaim Thillai, we will dismantle Brahmin hegemony – the image shows prominent personalities from VHP – Ashok Singhal, Hindu Munnani head, Rama Gopalan, and other political personalities such as Cho, Jayalalithaa, Subramaniam Swamy, and the brahmin is shown as Lucifer and wears a janeu, has a key indicating temple control.
  • Purohitas’ reign – Shows a Brahmin (3%) standing on a non-brahmin (97%) and using the whip on him and indicates that even when Brahmins are at 3%, they can subjugate the rest of the population.

Some book titles without demeaning images include:

  • If Englishmen are strangers, who or what are brahmins (parpans)?
  • Was Raja Raja Chozhan a slave of the Brahmins?
  • Brahmins who raised a commotion against social revolution
  • Aryan-Brahmin plot to usurp temple administration

Going over a few other tweets on this propaganda which relies on imagery to drive the so-called “evilness” of Brahmins into other Tamilians’ heads, we see this:

A Brahmin priest’s (purohit) tuft of hair/Shikha, the tuft morphs into the words NEET and ends with a stethoscope indicating that Brahmins are the ones for whom NEET was made and ensures they get their degrees.

You can see creative re-use of Brahmin stereotypical caricatures by Tamilian (Dravidian) high-frequency propaganda accounts.

Compare these Dravidian propaganda toons with this image above. Look at how well-produced DMK(Dravidian) hate propaganda is. This cartoon is hastily done, feels amateurish, and leaves very little impact on the brain, it is available freely (has no form of funding).

When we say this kind of peddling of hate is institutionalised and well-funded, we mean it. Here is a verified DMK IT Wing official handle shares a cartoon similar to Amar Chitra Katha

Vicious propaganda demonising the Tamizh Brahmins.

The next one shows VCK chief Thirumavalavan pulling the Shikha of a Brahmin – that he is superior to the Brahmin.

Some more hate propaganda material you ask, here you go!

Brahmins are shown as discriminatory and they rise to the top by stamping and climbing on non-brahmins.

In this tweet, we see Nattu aka Natarajan the cricketer is seen to be “dismantling Brahminism” in the cricket world.

The stumps are marked “The parochial Sanatana Dharma social structure” and an ugly obese Brahmin in the image who has been “dismantled”.

Here’s how they show that Brahmins are cunning and the Dravidians propagate the fact that EWS quota was created so Brahmins will have a chance at beating reservation.

Want something more on the Supreme Court being occupied by Brahmins, here you go!

In this image, they use the Brahmin’s head to morph the Supreme Court claiming

that it is the Brahmins who are occupying the highest posts and are influencing judgements. If only that were to happen!

This image claims that the Supreme Court judges are all Brahmins. Says there are 26 judges in India’s top court of which 23 are Brahmins and 2 OBCs and only 1 from the SC/ST category. Here again, there is a use of Zoomorphism – the brahmin is morphed into a horse with an ugly face.

Some more Supreme Court based propaganda material for you:

This image depicts the Supreme Court in the form of the Shikha of a Brahmin with Vaishnavite symbols. The text written reads, it is not the Supreme Court, it is Tuft/Shikha (Uchikudumi Mandram) court indicating Brahmins are controlling the courts and interfering with justice.

Check out this collection of tweets indicating how the Supreme Court is run by Brahmins.

The same typical imagery all across the pictures.

Zoomorphism, you ask, here you go!

Dravidian-Tamil organisation says in this anti-brahmin caricature poster which again uses zoomorphism, “Brahmins Octopus encroached govt depts we condemn. Nov 7 Siege of Shastri Bhavan octopus tentacles features SBI, Indian Army, UPSC, SC.”

Some more…

Depicts Brahmins as worms (Zoomorphism)– showcasing Brahmins as animals/insects is one popular way of propagating hate and a favourite of the Nazi propagandists. The image on the left titled, “What can be done of this germ”, depicts Sadagopan Jeeyar as a worm/centipede and he says, “Chant Om Namo Narayana 108 times, Corona will disappear” On the right, you can see the Nazi propaganda against Jews depicting them as worms in a similar fashion.

EVR in Dravidian hate propaganda

One such imagery shows EVR holding Brahmin by the ear – a Dravidian wet dream.

Next up, Pondicherry State President of Dravidar Kazhagam (ideological parent of DMK) explaining Dravidianism in actual form. In this tweet, we see a brahmin (on the left) shown to be a “pest” while EVR is shown as the “pesticide”. That is how deep-seated the hatred is among Dravidianists.

And some more…

This one shows a Brahmin whose legs are tied to a walking stick indicative of EVR and the Shikha/tuft is also in the control of EVR signalling that Brahmins can no longer do what they wish and Dravidian ideology has curbed their freedom, the image wants to communicate the point “EVR’s walking stick keeps the Brahmin under control”.

How can we forget Manu Smriti!

A repeat of the tuft strangling the non-brahmins is used here. The cartoon mentions A Raja’s speech where he says Manu Smriti says Shudras are children of prostitutes. The Brahmin here is shown to repeat that to the non-brahmin and is tightening his grip on him with the tuft. This is very similar to the saturation canards of blood libel – a canard that Jews used the blood of Christian children for Passover rituals, a canard that could not be shaken off for centuries similar to Tamil Brahmins poured lead into ears of Dravidians’ ears if they asked for ‘education’.

In this tweet, we can see 2 similar images, the Dravidians just borrowed the content and replaced the Capitalist oppressor with a Tamil Brahmin; this cartoon is used in the context of EWS pretty recently.

Inspiration from Fips

Jews were shown to be obese, money-minded, stomping on others, and dangerous by Fips (Ruprecht cartoonist for Der Sturmer), they were never shown with musculature, the same propaganda style is used for Tamil Brahmins too – very chubby, harmless yet capable of violence.

In this tweet, the vivid characterisation, and clear images like in Amar Chitra Katha comics is to ensure it gets ingrained in the readers’ brains about the vile character of Brahmins. The language used is the typical Brahmin slang that is spoken in TN by Tamil Brahmins. And the characters are saying “Our kids were beaten by the SC(Panchama) kids”, and the other says, “Yes, that’s how it was posted in our newspaper”.

The handle says that propaganda caricatures have to be **vivid** sensational and shocking, they need to arouse inner disgust and physically do something – this is something 21st century Dravidians (Tamils) have become adept at after Fips (cartoonist of Der Sturmer).

The image on the left is by Philipp Ruprecht (Fips) , prolific cartoonist of Der Sturmer and the one on the right is by a Dravidian. The pattern is similar – a fat man escorting a nubile woman, in the second image. Such is the imagery that has been created not now, but for a very long time and it makes it easy for Dravidian loyalists to badmouth and abuse Tamil Brahmins.

This artwork is a straight lift from Nazi anti-semitic propaganda.

Next we will see how they like to sexualize our Gods and Goddesses in such ways in an attempt to pull Brahmins down.

Moving on, check out how Dravidian pop culture depicts Brahmins and Baniyas from UP in their content. Here we see a Brahmin/Baniya taking the lion’s share of govt job opportunities (the pipe) while the oppressed get only what trickles down.

And in this bottom tweet, compare the scary Brahmin and the scary Jew from 1940s The Eternal Jew.

Here comes Ambedkar!

Cartoon published in Shankar’s Weekly in December 1949. Dr. Ambedkar holds the hand of a little girl named Hindu code bill and leads her towards the Parliament and a Brahmin holding an axe in hand hiding behind a wall, while women from the terrace try to save the girl. You can notice that the Brahmin is once again unshapely, ugly, half-clothed, and violent or evil.

In this tweet, Reality Check India talks about the caricature artist, Shankar Pillai. In this image, the Brahmin is shown to be patriarchal, and you see the same stereotypes – blob (no muscles, fat, ugly). This cartoon also indicates how Sanatana Dharma, controlled by Brahmins, is dictating the terms for women especially.

Shankar Pillai is said to be among the “pioneers” of grotesque caricatures of Brahmins via cartoons.

Sengol, Aadeenams and Brahmins (How could anyone make a connection?)

In the wake of the Sengol installation in the new Parliament (and subsequent controversy with regard to Modi’s sashtanga namaskar to the Sengol and the Aadeenams, a tweet was shared by the followers of Dravidian ideology (which was removed after massive reporting)

This image seems to have crossed all levels of decency in depicting Brahmins/Hindus.

Tamil society exhibits unique hate targeting “Tamizh Brahmins,” akin to anti-Semitism. Non-Brahmins distance themselves from this hate, while the state fails to protect against hate speech. The power of Dravidian ideology lies in unchecked hate propagated by a few venomous accounts and the crowd, amplified and encouraged by the state apparatus.

What more proof does one need to show that Tamil Brahmins were and are being subjected to the same type of treatment by the Dravidianists that Nazis accorded to the Jews? Does it require putting them in the gas chamber to prove that a genocide occurred? A sustained propaganda aided and funded to the hilt by the state machinery (political parties in TN) and propagated by their ilk has caused a continuous exodus of Tamil Brahmins from TN to other states and other countries for decades. This peddling of vicious propaganda against the Tamil Brahmins of all ages and sizes, right from school up until one joins college and much worse, at the workplace too, has resulted in the community having to live in a society that incessantly hounds them for being part of a particular lineage.

Kalakshetra Row: Police Close Case Against Leela Samson Who Called A Girl Student ‘Mistress’, Claims She Meant ‘Leader’

leela samson kalakshetra

The controversy surrounding Kalakshetra Foundation about alleged sexual harassment in the institution started when its former director Leela Samson made damning accusation in her Facebook post.

In her now-deleted Facebook post, Leela had accused a teacher (who she did not name) of sexual harassment and even linked him with another girl student calling her his ‘mistress’.

She had claimed that because of the said teacher, one of the alleged victims had an abortion and that she wanted to marry him.

In the next line, Leela Samson alleged that the teacher has an intern as a “mistress” and publicly shamed her by naming her . The context, tone and tenor of Leela Samson’s post gives away that she had used the word “mistress” with a sexual connotation.

The aggrieved intern who goes by the handle Believeinkarma (@karmayogi_06) on Twitter had registered a complaint against Leela Samson for unwarrantedly tarnishing her and outraging her modesty in public forum.

The Adyar All Women Police Station which is investigating the allegations against Kalakshetra Foundation and Haripadman, is also probing the complaint against Leela Samson.

According to journalist Sandhya Ravishankar, the police closed the complaint against Samson and when the complainant had asked the reason, she was told that “mistress” means “ejamaani” (in Tamil ejamaani means a feudal landlady).

Apparently when Leela Samson was questioned, the explanation she offered was that she meant the word Mistress to be “leader” since the intern took tuitions for Haripadman’s son.

The police were reportedly satisfied with this explanation and closed the case as Leela Samson had already took down her post.

The aggrieved student has alleged that Leela Samson has been made to go scot free despite it being a clear case of cyber bullying, harassment, and defamation.

“Take it to the court”, Leela Samson had apparently told the student victim.

It must be noted that Leela Samson’s Facebook posts along with articles published by the likes of The News Minute had snowballed into a controversy with full fledged protests by students with the institution closing down temporarily. Dance teacher Haripadman, who became the main target of the protest is now in Puzhal jail with his bail application being rejected by the Saidapet court.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) which had taken cognizance of the case has so far found no evidence to support the allegations.

The NCW has been asking concerned persons to appear before them to take necessary action.

The NCW had asked Leela Samson to present herself before the commission on 11 April 2023.

However, Leela Samson through her lawyer Vrinda Grover had e-mailed the commission on 7 April 2023 that she was in Australia and that she is due for travel to India adding that for the next two weeks or so, Leela would not be able to present herself physically before the commission due to her engagements and restrictions in travel due to COVID vulnerability.

If one had to go by her claims in the email, Leela Samson was supposed to be quarantining in Delhi but she was found loitering around in Mumbai to participate in the cultural programmes at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

“Sceptre Thing, Lying Down And All That”: Rahul Gandhi Insults Historic Sengol During US Trip

During his ongoing visit to the United States, Rahul Gandhi, a disqualified Member of Parliament from the Congress party, not only made derogatory remarks about Sengol and Hindu culture but also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using the New Parliament building as a means to divert the public’s attention from real issues. He made these statements while addressing a gathering of Congress supporters in San Francisco during his week-long visit.

Gandhi’s remarks came in response to a question from a member of the Silicon Valley Christian Community, identified as Mr. Jay.

Jay asked for Gandhi’s views on the increase in Lok Sabha seats to 888, suggesting that Prime Minister Modi’s plan for delimitation based solely on population would favor highly populous states, leading to a disproportionate allocation of resources and benefits. He expressed concern about the vulnerability of minorities in such a scenario.

Gandhi responded by saying that he was not aware of how the BJP arrived at the number 800 and the criteria used for it. He emphasized that such decisions should not be taken lightly and that India is a country of diverse languages, people, histories, and cultures. He stressed the importance of a fair negotiation among all states.

When informed that the allocation is based on population, Gandhi commented that it depends on how the ratios change. However, he seemed visibly uncomfortable with the question and chose to mock Sengol, the New Parliament Building, and Prime Minister Modi simultaneously. He dismissed them as distractions from the real issues in India, such as unemployment, rising prices, growing anger and hatred, a deteriorating education system, and the high cost of education and healthcare. Gandhi suggested that the BJP avoids discussing these pressing concerns and resorts to theatrics instead. He humorously mentioned the “skepta” (Sceptre or Sengol) gesture associated with lying down and expressed satisfaction that he was not engaging in such theatrics, which garnered applause from the audience.

The Sengol was given to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru moments before Indian independence by the Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam as a symbol of transfer of power.

This historic Sengol was languishing hitherto as Nehru’s “golden walking stick” in Anand Bhavan, the house museum in Prayagraj, which belongs to the Nehru family.

Rahul Gandhi is currently undertaking a 10-day trip to the United States, with San Francisco being his initial destination, followed by Washington DC and New York. It is noteworthy that his previous visit abroad, specifically to the UK, caused a significant controversy in India. During that visit, as a Member of Parliament, he faced accusations of disrespecting Indian democracy while speaking on foreign soil.

Alt News Journo & Serial Fake News Peddler Zubair Peddle Half-Truths About BJP TN Head Annamalai

On May 30, Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of AltNews and a propagandist posing as a fact-checker, once again shared a manipulated video to serve his own agenda. The video featured K Annamalai, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, and was initially posted by AltNews journalist Abhishek. In the video, Annamalai is heard saying, “Who made CSK win is a BJP Karyakarta. Jadeja is a BJP Karyakarta, his wife is a BJP MLA, and he is from Gujarat.” The video was shared without any context or the background of the entire conversation.

Mohammed Zubair and his fellow colleague, insinuated that Annamalai was attributing the victory of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in cricket to the BJP. The intention was to make it seem like Annamalai was crediting a political party for a sporting win. However, the truth behind the video, which is often the case with Zubair and his team, was quite different. A longer version of the video shared by netizens reveals that Annamalai was not claiming credit for CSK’s win but was responding to the politicization of the victory by the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, DMK.

The Truth

CSK led by captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the match against Gujarat Titans by five wickets after Ravindra Jadeja hit a last-ball four to successfully chase down the revised target of 171 in a rain affected match.

During a discussion on News18, the anchor asked Annamalai about DMK’s claim that CSK’s win was a victory of the Dravidian model over the Gujarat model, aiming to bring politics into the cricket match. Annamalai’s response was to counter this narrative by mentioning that the player who hit the winning runs for CSK, Ravindra Jadeja, is a BJP Karyakarta, and his wife is a BJP MLA. He expressed pride in both the achievements of Tamil individuals and the BJP’s involvement in the victory. Annamalai clarified that he gave a political response because he was asked a political question.

Annamalai’s counter to the DMK and Dravidian media ecosystem propaganda was quoted by BJP Tamil Nadu’s official social media pages which Zubair used to justify his half-truths.

AltNews and other news portals, such as The News Minute, The Indian Express, Financial Express, and The Lallantop, spread misinformation about Annamalai’s statement by publishing misleading headlines that misrepresented the true context and explanation of the interview.

From Sengol To Chanakya And Samudra Manthana, The New Parliament Boasts The Epic Journey Of Indian Civilization

On 28 May 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building and placed the historic and sacred golden sceptre ‘Sengol’ near the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chair.

When compared to the former Parliament building, the new complex is significantly larger with magnificent features.

The new Parliament building, which replaced the old circular structure, is triangular in design and stands directly opposite the 90-year-old complex that housed both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

The new Parliament building not only fits modern standards, but also demonstrates the breadth and depth of Indian culture and civilisation.

As India transitions from the darkness of the colonial past to the light of Sanatana Dharma, here’s the civilizational importance of the new Indian Parliament.

The Vaastu Shastra Behind The Design

The guiding concepts for the roughly 5,000 works of art (paintings, ornamental art, wall panels, stone sculptures, and metal objects) displayed across 65,000 metres of space at the new Parliament building are Sanatana Parampara and Vaastu Shastra.

If the previous Parliament House guided post-independence India, the new structure would bear testimony to the birth of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’

Credits to the Ahmedabad-based HCP Designs, this modern temple of democracy incorporates Indian elements and showcases India as a rising power.

The new Parliament building is triangular in shape and is built right next to the existing Parliament House.

The triangular (actually hexagonal) shape was chosen because of the “sacred geometrics” of the shape.

The head of HCP Designs Bimal Patel had said that, “Many sacred geometrics celebrate ‘triangles’ and ‘trinities – The Sri Yantra uses a triangle, the three Gods or the Trinities are a triangle and therefore the triangle is sacred.”

Besides these, the new building’s six entrances exhibit guardian statues showing auspicious animals.

These “auspicious animals” have been chosen based on their importance in Indian culture, Vaastu shastra and traits such as wisdom, victory, power, and success.

Each animal chosen to be installed in the building possesses a set of affirmations, spreading well-being and harmony.

Guarding the ceremonial entrance to the north is the gaja (elephant), which represents wisdom, wealth, intellect, and memory.

According to Vaastu Shastra, the northern direction is associated with Mercury, which is the source of higher intellect.

Standing alert and ready at the southern entrance is the ashva (horse), which is symbolic of endurance, strength, power, and speed, describing the quality of governance.

Soaring at the eastern entrance is the garuda (eagle), which symbolises the aspirations of the people.

In Vaastu shastra, the east is associated with the rising sun, representing victory.

The north-eastern entrance has hamsa (swan), which represents discernment and wisdom.

The remaining entrances showcase the makara (a mythical aquatic creature that is a combination of the body parts of different animals), which represents unity in diversity, and the shardula (a mythical animal that is said to be the most powerful of all living beings), which symbolises the power of the people of the country.

The underlying narrative is to highlight “5,000 years of Indian civilisation”.

An official vision document entailing the objectives of artwork at the building, that was reviewed by The Indian Express, states: “The artworks and its installation represent sanatan parampara that continued over thousands of years. Along with that, the overall theme is designed keeping in mind the study of Vaastu shastra and maintaining the character of the building.” While sanatan parampara broadly refers to Hindu culture, which is believed to have been in continuity for centuries, Vaastu shastra is the traditional Indian system of architecture based on ancient texts that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, space arrangement and spatial geometry.

Celebrating Civilizational Ethos

The sacred Sengol was installed next to the Speaker’s chair at the Lok Sabha House on the day of the inauguration. PM Modi entered the Lok Sabha house while carrying the Sengol, amid Vedic chants by high priests of several devotees (maths) in Tamil Nadu and sounds from ‘nadaswaram.’ PM Modi began the event by offering Sengol, a Sashtang Pranam. Every Indian will remember the video of him entering the house and then installing Sengol for the rest of their lives. It represents the rich culture of India. Sengol was regarded as a symbol of the road of service, loyalty, and nation in different ancient Hindu kingdoms. The Sengol became the sacred emblem of power transfer under the direction of Rajaji and Adheenam. This Sengol will continue to inspire us during the House procedures.

Another feature of the new Parliament House that has been a talking point is the Samudra Manthan sculpture, which is situated along one of the building’s walls. Created by Murtikar Naresh Kumawat, the sculpture depicts the historic story of churning the milk sea. As the story goes, thousands of years ago, Devtas and Daanavs joined hands to churn the sea with the hope to get Amrit and other precious items. The scene depicts how the event took place.

A dedicated display depicting the ‘Akhand Bharat’ in its true form is also present inside the New Parliament Building. The display has an old sculpture, a stone with ancient scriptures, and an old map of Bharat with regions mentioned by their historic names. You can see Kurukshetra, Hastinapur, Sindhu, Sauveer, Saurashtra, Dakshinapath, Amravati, Sidhpur, Chol, Kanchipuram, Keralputr and other regions written in Devnagri script. Along with the above mentioned, other sculptures in the new Parliament includes Chanakya- The father of political science, Hand Mudras- Representing the depth of Indian , and more.

The new Parliament also serves as a symbol of Aatmanirbharata (self-reliance). India’s ‘Temple of Democracy’, the building is constructed using materials from all over the country, representing the diversity of India. The teak wood for the building was sourced from Nagpur, Maharashtra. The sandstone was procured from Sarmathura, Rajasthan. The carpets were imported from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The bamboo wood flooring was from Agartala, Tripura. The stone jali works were obtained from Rajnagar, Rajasthan and Noida. The Ashoka Emblem was sourced from Aurangabad and Jaipur, while   Ashok Chakra was from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. Some furniture was procured from Mumbai. The Lakha Red was got from Lakha in Jaisalmer, while the Ambaji White Marble was from Ambaji, Rajasthan. The Kesharia Green Stone was procured from Udaipur. The stone carving work was obtained from Abu Road and Udaipur, and the stone aggregate from Kotputali, Rajasthan.

The new Parliament building is thus not only a testament to India’s unity and diversity but also a symbol of the country’s commitment to democracy and its vision for the future.
