New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has opposed the upcoming Madison Square Garden event featuring RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, describing the organisation’s ideology as “exclusionary” while saying the city may not have the authority to cancel a privately organised event.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Mamdani invoked his Indian-American identity and said he had grown up with an understanding of India as a pluralistic and secular republic.
“I also stand here as the first Indian American mayor in our city’s history. My mother’s family is all still in India. The vision of India that I was taught by my family and the one that I grew up being very familiar with was of a pluralistic society, of a secular republic, that believed in the belonging of each and every person who was from India. It has been incredibly troubling to see the rise of a movement that is predicated on an exclusionary vision of any country, frankly. So it is one that I find myself in deep opposition to. Not only as an Indian-American, but also as the mayor of a city that believes deeply in the belonging of each and every person, no matter their colour, their creed, their religion, their faith, wherever they’re from… I don’t support the rally, but I don’t know if the city has any jurisdiction on canceling a private event.”

The event, scheduled for 29 August 2026, is being organised as part of Bhagwat’s US visit during the RSS centenary year and is expected to draw around 5,000 members of the Indian diaspora.
Zohran Mamdani Is An Islamist Terror Sympathizer
Ever since he started making an appearance in public, especially around the time he began his campaign to run for NYC Mayor, several instances of his statements, his backers, his links etc have come to the fore. Here is a compilation/reproduction of all the instances that prove he is linked to terror organisations and is also a terror simp.
Campaign Backed By CAIR
Mamdani’s campaign was officially backed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization with a long history of supporting terrorism.

CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing case in U.S. history, which exposed a vast network funding Hamas. The CAIR was designated a terrorist organization by the UAE in 2014 for its extremist ties. CAIR was founded by Hamas operatives, including Omar Ahmad, who declared: “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.”
CAIR’s endorsement is a stamp of approval from an Islamist network that seeks to impose Sharia law in America.
It is noteworthy that in 2023 when Hamas carried out the deadly strikes against innocent civilians of Israel on 7 October, he justified the attack.

Refusal to Condemn “Globalize the Intifada” – A Call for Jewish Genocide
Mamdani has repeatedly refused to denounce the phrase “Globalize the Intifada,” a rallying cry for global jihad against Jews. When pressed, he compared it to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, a grotesque inversion of Holocaust history. He said, “I think what’s difficult also is that the very word has been used by the Holocaust Museum when translating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising into Arabic, because it’s a word that means struggle,” and added, “And as a Muslim man who grew up post-9/11, I’m all too familiar in the way in which Arabic words can be twisted, can be distorted, can be used to justify any kind of meaning.”
Mamdani, on The Bulwark podcast, says ‘Globalize the Intifada’ chant signifies, to him, a call for Palestinian human rights.

It is noteworthy that Mamdani cheered the 2015-2016 “Stabbing Intifada” as a “Third Intifada”. He clearly knows what it means. The Stabbing Intifada, also known as the “Knife Intifada”, refers to a wave of individual stabbing, shooting, and car-ramming attacks carried out by Palestinian assailants against Israeli civilians and security forces, beginning in late 2015 and peaking during 2015–2016. These attacks were concentrated in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and other Israeli cities.
Many attackers were motivated by religious fervor, nationalist anger, or a desire for martyrdom. The attacks were often sudden, unplanned, and carried out with knives or vehicles, making them extremely difficult for Israeli authorities to predict or prevent.
Dozens of Israelis were killed and hundreds wounded in these attacks. In response, Israeli security forces implemented stricter measures, including increased checkpoints and demolitions of attackers’ family homes. Many of the Palestinian assailants were killed during or shortly after their attacks.

Muslim Democratic Club of New York – A Political Jihad Network
Mamdani is a board member of the Muslim Democratic Club of New York (MDCNY), a group tied to Linda Sarsour and other radical Islamists. MDCNY seeks to consolidate Muslim voting blocs to push far-left, anti-Israel policies. It operates under the guise of “civil rights” while advancing Islamic supremacy.

This is political jihad using democracy to dismantle democracy.
Mamdani’s Socialist Terror Network
If you thought he was just involved in anti-Hindu/Jew activities and furthering his Islamist point of view, think again. Let’s take a look at how he is embroiled with the marxists/socialists.
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) – A Marxist Terror Front
Mamdani is a key figure in the DSA, which has abolitionist agendas (defund police, open borders); ties to Antifa and far-left militants, and has pushed BDS as part of its anti-capitalist, anti-Western crusade.
His allies include Julia Salazar (BDS activist), Jabari Brisport (self-declared Marxist), and Rashida Tlaib (Hamas sympathizer).
Foreign Terror Links: Mamdani’s Global Jihad Network
New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani appeared on a Pakistani news channel allegedly known for its links to ISI-backed narratives and militant outfits like Tehrik-i-Taliban, actively campaigning for votes and showcasing his progressive credentials. Speaking in a mix of English and Urdu, Mamdani repeatedly emphasized his identity as a Muslim, a socialist, and an immigrant, framing his candidacy as a fight against systemic injustice, unaffordability, and Islamophobia in New York City. He made sweeping accusations against his rival Andrew Cuomo and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Gujarat and policies on Indian Muslims, aligning himself with anti-Modi and pro-Palestinian positions.
Mamdani also defended his controversial usage of the term “genocide” for the Israel-Gaza conflict, insisting that many Jewish New Yorkers support his stance. Notably, his appearance on a channel with a documented history of radical affiliations raises serious questions about his political judgment and the messaging he is willing to platform to court South Asian voters, especially in a global city like New York, where national security sensitivities and diaspora politics are deeply intertwined.

Married To A Pro-Hamas Activist
Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, is a Syrian artist who glorifies Hamas in her work, a pro-Palestinian activist.

The couple’s ideological alignment is rooted in radical leftist politics, anti-Israel sentiment, and identity-based activism. She is part of his ideological machine, blending Islamic extremism with socialist revolution. Duwaji’s artwork reportedly supports the Palestinian cause, including Hamas-linked narratives, amplifying Mamdani’s political agenda. Their lavish Dubai wedding, despite Mamdani’s socialist platform, exposed his hypocrisy on “class struggle.”
Zohran, who constantly rails about how NYC is a city that only works for the rich, had his wedding in Dubai, one of the only ultra-luxury cities in the world that CURRENTLY has slaves.

Mamdani Celebrates Pak Independence Day Despite His Own Religious Equality Test
The contrast has drawn further scrutiny after Mamdani publicly participated in Pakistan Independence Day celebrations in Brooklyn. On 10 August 2026, he attended the Allama Iqbal Community Center’s Mela and praised the contributions of Pakistani New Yorkers, saying the community’s “open arms, determination, and dreams for a better life” had helped shape New York.
The appearance has been questioned in light of Mamdani’s June remarks on Israel. Asked whether he supported Israel specifically as a Jewish state, he said, “I believe that any state that privileges one religion over the other is one that I can’t tell you I support, whether it be Israel or Saudi Arabia or anywhere else.”
Pakistan’s Constitution, however, explicitly declares Islam as the state religion and gives Islam a distinct constitutional position. Pakistan is also known for the terrorist organisations that have based their headquarters there.

Mamdani has therefore been accused of applying a different standard when discussing Israel and Pakistan: Israel’s Jewish character is presented as a reason to withhold support, while Pakistan’s Islamic constitutional identity has not prevented him from publicly celebrating its national day.
Mamdani’s Position On Israel
Mamdani’s comments on Israel came after a series of Democratic primary victories by candidates aligned with the Democratic socialist movement, several of whom campaigned against US military assistance to Israel and in support of Palestinian rights.
When asked about the Democratic Socialists of America’s position on the two-state solution, Mamdani said, “The way I see it is equal rights for all people. And I think that that’s the truth for Israel. It’s the truth for any country in the world.”
He subsequently said that he supported Israel as a state with equal rights but drew a distinction between that position and supporting a state that privileges one religion.
His statement explicitly included Saudi Arabia alongside Israel as examples of countries whose religious character he said he could not support.
Meets Terror Accused Umar Khalid’s Father
In January 2026, Mamdani once again proved to be a filtered terror-sympathizing Islamist by meeting with Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, the father of jailed terror accused Umar Khalid.
Mamdani, a self-identified democratic socialist and the first Muslim mayor of America’s largest city, is aligned with figures linked to radical Islamist organizations be it with Hamas or Pakistan-based terror groups.
Islamist Zohran reportedly met Ilyas on 9 December 2025, for about 25–30 minutes, during which Ilyas pressed the issue of his son’s incarceration who is in jail for terror charges.
Mamdani, reportedly following Khalid’s case closely, offered to connect the family with U.S. Congress members to advocate for Khalid’s release.
Backed By Terror-Linked Organisations
The Council on American‑Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its super-PAC arm Unity & Justice Fund are reported to have funneled substantial funds into a PAC supporting Mamdani’s campaign. One report cites a $25,000 gift on May 30 and a further $75,000 on June 16, 2025. Another source places the figure at about $100,000 in total. In addition, the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action (USCPR Action) publicly endorsed his campaign in September 2025 — their first-ever candidate endorsement.
He was seen with an Imam, who has historical ties as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

In 2023, the New York State Assembly passed a controversial bill aimed at stopping tax-exempt donations from state-registered charities that funded Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank – activities widely regarded as violations of international law.
The legislation, titled “Not on Our Dime!: Ending New York Funding of Israeli Settler Violence Act,” was introduced by the then-Assembly member Zohran Mamdani in May 2023. It sought to prohibit not-for-profit corporations registered in New York from using charitable funds to support organisations linked to Israeli settlement expansion or violence against Palestinians in the occupied territories.
HfHR – An Organization With Terror And Soros Links Behind Supported Mamdani
Sunita Vishwanath is known for her activism against the Indian government. She co-founded HfHR in 2019 alongside groups like the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI), both of which have been linked to Islamist advocacy and have actively protested Modi’s international visits.
IAMC is associated with groups like ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), known for ties to Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami and promoting anti-India propaganda.
IAMC’s Executive Director, Rasheed Ahmed, also leads IMANA (Islamic Medical Association of North America), implicated for alleged misuse of funds involving links to Pakistani officials and terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Vishwanath’s NGO, Women for Afghan Women, has received funding from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation, raising concerns about the financial backing of such initiatives.

She has also publicly supported Zohran Kwame Mamdani, the New York City mayoral candidate accused of anti-Hindu activism.

Mamdani, who recently attempted to appeal to Hindu voters through temple visits, has a record of leading protests against the Ayodhya Ram Temple, which he labeled a “fascist atrocity,” and aligning with Khalistani separatists.
Radical Faction Of Zohran Mamdani’s DSA Praised Terrorist
In October 2025, the radical faction within the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), an organisation that backed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, openly praised Elias Rodriguez, the accused killer of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., in May 2025. The DSA Liberation Caucus joined the “Free Elias Rodriguez Organizing Committee,” a coalition that described the killings as “a legitimate act of resistance” and called for Rodriguez’s release. The faction also posted a Maoist message declaring, “It is right to rebel against the enemy. This is Maoist law.”
Anti-Hindu Activism And Khalistani Ties
This outreach stands in stark contrast to Mamdani’s documented history of anti-Hindu activism. In 2020, Mamdani led a hate mob in Times Square that demonized the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, branding the project a “fascist atrocity.” The protests featured chants of “Hindus are bastards” – slurs Mamdani never disavowed – and saw him aligned with Khalistani separatists.
At the time, Mamdani declared: “I protest the demolition of the Babri masjid and the attempt to build a mandir on top of the ruins of it.” He further claimed, “As an Indian Muslim whose family is witnessing the rising tide of fascism in India, I won’t be silent,” framing Hindu nationalism as a global threat while ignoring Islamic extremism.

He called the Ram Temple reconstruction in India a “fascist atrocity” and framed Hindu nationalism as a global threat, while ignoring Islamic extremism. He allegedly declared, “As an Indian Muslim whose family is witnessing the rising tide of fascism in India, I won’t be silent.”
His hatred for PM Modi knows no bounds. In a video of a discussion/debate that went viral earlier in June 2025, Mamdani repeatedly likened Modi to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, going so far as to call him a “war criminal” during a recent public forum. He cited the 2002 Gujarat riots as justification—failing to mention that India’s Supreme Court had cleared Modi of any involvement after extensive investigations. In the video, he responds to the question “Modi is holding a rally in Madison Square Garden. He wants to hold a joint press conference with you afterwards reaffirming the strong bond between India and New York. Do you agree to the event?” with this response – “No, and I just want to say something here which is that. My father, his family comes from Gujarat in India and his family is Muslim, I am Muslim and Narendra Modi helped to orchestrate what was a mass slaughter of Muslims in Gujarat to the extent that we don’t even believe there are Gujarati Muslims anymore, and when I tell someone that I am, it’s a shock to them that that is even the case. And this is someone who we should view in the same manner that we do Benjamin Netanyahu; this is a war criminal.”

Mamdani often conflates Hindus with India’s ruling BJP, turning political dissent into religious animosity. When fellow politicians like Jennifer Rajkumar and Kevin Thomas refused to denounce Modi during his 2023 New York visit, Mamdani labeled them as complicit—again stoking intra-community rifts.
As three of the first South Asians ever elected to New York City and State government, @voteshekar, @ShahanaFromBK and I are appalled by the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to our city.⁰⁰

Attended Bakrid Prayers At Mosque That Called For Killing Of Infidels
In May 2026, during Ramadan, Mamdani attended the Al-Khoei Islamic Center in Queens. An imam recited a traditional Arabic supplication invoking the Mahdi (a messianic figure in Islamic eschatology). The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translated the prayer text as, “Through your hands comes the relief for the believers and the killing of the infidels by your sword”.

His Islamist Agenda
Mamdani’s political platform reflects what can be described as an Islamist agenda. He has proposed higher property taxes on “richer, whiter neighborhoods” – a plan that is comparable to race-based redistribution and pushes for socialist policies like free buses and city-run supermarkets.
Notably, Mamdani pushed for mandatory halal food in all NYC public schools a key legislative priority, framing it as “inclusion” while Christian and Jewish dietary laws are ignored. It is noteworthy that Halal certification is controlled by groups with ties to extremist funding networks.
It is noteworthy that in a January 2025 post on social media, Mamdani stated that he was attending Jummah prayers at the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge. He also appeared in photos standing next to Imam Muhammad Al-Barr, a religious leader known for praising Hamas and calling for divine guidance for their attacks on Israel.

— Zohran Kwame Mamdani (@ZohranKMamdani) January 17, 2025
Just five months earlier, Al-Barr had been recorded in the same mosque delivering a prayer calling for violent jihad, “Oh Allah, grant victory to all of them, and do not grant anyone victory over them. Oh Allah, lift the enemy’s hands from them. Oh Allah, protect their honor and their life. Oh Allah, annihilate those who occupied their lands, those who betrayed and deserted them and those who spilled their blood. Annihilate all of them and show us your fierce punishment and revenge upon them.”
The mosque’s former imam, Reda Shata, has previously been profiled by The New York Times and is known for spreading deeply antisemitic messages. Shata has claimed that Jews are “the biggest liars among all of God’s creation,” attributing their behavior to a so-called “lying gene,” and describing them as “masters of forgery.”
Mamdani’s Double Standard On “Pluralism”
Mamdani lectures the RSS on pluralism while himself associating with figures and organisations linked to Islamist extremism. A radical faction of the DSA, the political organisation backing him, also praised Elias Rodriguez, accused of murdering two Israeli embassy staffers.
Yet Mamdani portrays the RSS as “exclusionary” and opposes its Madison Square Garden event. The contradiction is straightforward: he demands pluralism from his political opponents while remaining associated with people and movements whose own records raise far more serious questions about religious hatred and political violence.
