CAM Basheer: A Career Terrorist & Face Of Islamic Radicalism In Kerala, A Reminder Against Appeasement Politics Of Pinarayi Government

C A M Basheer, one of the most searched-for terror operators in the country and one of the first extremist leaders of the proscribed Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was recently caught by airport police just before his flight out of Canada. Chaneparambil Mohammad Basheer, aka CAM Basheer, was apprehended in Canada after being wanted in the 2002-03 Mumbai explosions conspiracy case. Senior police sources in Mumbai claimed attempts are being made for the extradition of Basheer, who is wanted for his suspected participation in the 2002-03 Mumbai explosions, which killed 12 people. Interpol charged him with murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, destroying public property with explosives, possessing forbidden weapons, and performing a terrorist act. One of the group’s early leaders is now one of the country’s most sought terrorists. He is said to be influencing the terrorists within India from outside. Considering these incidents, we will investigate CAM Basheer, Kerala’s face of Islamic extremism, and why it is important in avoiding further radicalization in the state.

Who Is CAM Basheer?

Basheer, the youngest child of the deceased Chaneparambil Abdulkhadar and Beeyathu, was born in 1961 and climbed to SIMI’s position of leadership from Aluva, an area near the village of Kaprassery, where the organisation had a significant foothold before its prohibition in 2001. He rose through the ranks of SIMI until he became the all-India head in the latter part of the 1980s. At the time, extreme forces within SIMI were gaining power, causing its parent organisation, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), to gradually distance itself from the organisation. Basheer was reported to be a major figure in SIMI’s radical stream. The Afghan-Soviet conflict of the early 1980s encouraged many SIMI members to promote the notion of armed jihad. While Basheer’s latest imprisonment in Canada is related to his suspected participation in the 2002-03 serial bombing cases, he has had multiple prior run-ins with the government.

A Career Terrorist

Basheer reportedly brainwashed Muslim teenagers as the leader of SIMI during the 1980s. According to court records from the 2002-03 explosions trial, Basheer made a controversial speech about crimes against Kashmiri Muslims in 1991 during a SIMI conference held at Bandra Reclamation. According to law enforcement records, the gathering was attended by several radicals from Bangladesh, Iran, and Palestine. In mid-1992, he went underground and departed the country. Former companions of Basheer claim that in the mid-1980s, Basheer travelled to Pakistan with a few extremist SIMI members and was trained in the North West Frontier region, which borders Afghanistan. Some members of the gang are also said to have travelled into Afghanistan and met with persons including Abdul Rasul Sayyaf, the Afghan terrorist widely rumoured to have welcomed Osama Bin Laden to Afghanistan. According to court documents, Basheer was urged by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to transfer additional recruits to Pakistan, but his former companions claim he was unable to persuade too many to do so. Basheer was recognised by the Indian government as a member of the ISI’s K2, an ambitious scheme to develop a uniform nationwide network supporting Khalistani and Kashmiri radicals across the nation. Basheer was allegedly tasked with finding safehouses wherein these violent extremists might conceal and store weapon stockpiles transported through the Gujarat border. In mid-1992, two individuals were detained for reportedly protecting Khalistani terrorists: Saquib Nachan, a close acquaintance of Basheer, and Lal Singh, a Khalistani terrorist. A TADA court in Gujarat eventually condemned them to life in jail. Basheer was identified in the proceedings as an absconder. Basheer’s name appeared on a list of India’s 50 most wanted offenders who were believed to be sheltering in Pakistan in 2011. Basheer, now 62, has kept a low profile over the previous decade while remaining on the intelligence scanner. Security officials assumed he was acting from West Asia and funding SIMI and Indian Mujahideen terror activities. Basheer was supposedly in charge of numerous other extremist individuals, notably Sarfaraz Nawaz, a SIMI leader from Kerala accused of involvement in multiple terror incidents. Nawaz was arrested in Oman in 2009 and extradited to India on suspicion of participation in the 2008 Bengaluru bombing. The 2002-2003 Mumbai bombings case, for which Basheer received an RCN warning, was a series of explosions that occurred between 2002 and 2003. The bombings resulted in the arrest of 16 people, with Basheer being one of the five fugitives in the case. An explosion occurred in the main lobby section of Mumbai Central train station in 2002. In 2003, another bomb occurred in a marketplace in the western part of Vile Parle. The third explosion occurred on 13 March 2003, in a local railway cabin in Mulund. These explosions claimed the lives of twelve people. Police used the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) to arrest 13 people. Bashir was designated as a ‘wanted suspect,’ with authorities alleging that his involvement was to supply finance for the scheme.

A Gentle Reminder To Pinarayi Government

We can all hope that the arrest of CAM Basheer, one of the faces of Islamic radicalism in Kerala will stroke a debate in the state which will provoke the state government into action. But this scenario is unlikely due to the appeasement nature of the Pinarayi Vijayan government.

Kerala is a state afflicted by extreme Islamic impulses, and it is becoming an Islamist haven. The government CPI(M)’s minority appeasement tactics and strategy have also exacerbated the problem. The CPI(M)’s appeasement tactics may be traced back to the period when the present CM was in office. For many years, the CPI(M) has been accused of shutting its eyes or even discreetly backing the extreme actions of the PFI (Successor of SIMI) and its linked organisations. The CPI(M) lacks meaningful ground support from Islamic parties in Kerala and lacks allies to march into a significant Islamic voting base in Kerala. Because of these extreme forces, Kerala is on the verge of collapse. In recent years, many men and women from Kerala are said to have joined the ISKP (Islamic State of Khorasan Province). In its 2020 terrorism assessment, the United Nations warned that there was a significant number of ISIS terrorists in the Indian states of Kerala and Karnataka. The ISIL Indian branch (Hind Wilayah), which was declared on May 10, 2019, has between 180 and 200 members, with significant ISIL operators in Kerala and Karnataka, according to the source. The threat of extremism and terrorism is one of the world’s biggest issues today, posing a significant risk to the stability and peace of our society. Terrorism, whether in the form of violence or love, surely creates significant issues in our society.  For the sake of India’s national security, it is past time for the Kerala government to take the problem seriously, without being misled by vote banks or appeasement, and to take severe action against fringe groups on the ground.

#GoBackStalin Trends Ahead Of Stalin’s Bihar Visit, DMK Leaders Peddling Hate Speech Against North Indians Comes To The Fore

The Twitterverse has been buzzing with the hashtag #GoBackStalin following the announcement of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s participation in an upcoming opposition parties meeting in Bihar’s Patna on Friday, 23 June 2023.

The opposition parties meeting, convened by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, aims to mobilize opposition forces against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Originally scheduled for 12 June, the meeting seeks to lay the groundwork for a united front of like-minded opposition parties against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government. Prominent leaders such as Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee are expected to attend the meeting.

As soon as Stalin’s Bihar visit hit the news, many north Indians particularly those from Bihar started trending the hashtag #GoBackStalin.

As of Thursday, 22 June 2023, the hashtag has gained significant traction, highlighting public opposition to Stalin’s visit.

In what seems to have originated in Bihar, this trending hashtag reflects the displeasure of internet users towards MK Stalin’s scheduled appearance, mainly due to the DMK often derogating those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The arrest and detention of Manish Kashyap under the National Security Act (NSA) has also added fuel to the fire. Manish Kashyap, a Bihar-based YouTuber, was arrested in Tamil Nadu on allegations of spreading fake news through videos on his channel. He faced charges related to the purported circulation of visuals depicting attacks on Bihari migrant workers in Tamil Nadu.

The arrest of Manish Kashyap prompted widespread debate and disagreement. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had previously denied allegations of harassment against migrant workers in the state. The incident remains under investigation, and the resentment towards Stalin’s visit stems from the perception that a wrong has been done to Manish Kashyap. A Twitter page called EWS Community has announced a vigorous protest, led by Ashutosh Kumar, in every district of Bihar, particularly in Patna, on the same day.

The DMK and other Dravidian Stockists often peddle that north Indians from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are stealing jobs of Tamil Nadu and are often derogated as ‘Vadakkans’, ‘Panipuri Vaayan’, ‘Beeda Vaayan’, etc.

Ironically, the DMK and its members who have been accused of harbouring anti-Bihar/anti-Hindi sentiments, is now getting a taste of its own medicine as their leader MK Stalin, heads to Bihar for the opposition parties meeting.

DMK Ministers, including EV Velu, Ponmudi, KN Nehru and TRB Rajaa, have been accused of consistently making derogatory remarks against Hindi speakers and Biharis. Several tweets exemplifying this sentiment have surfaced on social media, highlighting the perceived hypocrisy of DMK’s presence at the Bihar gathering.

Here are a few examples:

TRB Rajaa, the IT Wing Secretary of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) govt, who is also the Minister of Industries, Tamil Nadu, has a history of abusing Hindus and Hindi-speaking north Indians.

https://twitter.com/TRBRajaa/status/326924215389401089

Read more about how TRB Rajaa abused Hindu BJP supporters here.

As the controversy surrounding MK Stalin’s Bihar visit intensifies, it remains to be seen how this public sentiment will impact the Chief Minister’s reception and the opposition parties meeting agenda.

PoliTalk’s YouTube Channel Taken Down After Video Exposing Dravidoid Karu Palaniappan Goes Viral

The popular YouTube channel PoliTalk’s has been taken down by YouTube after a copyright complaint was filed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. The complaint was registered by AiPlex, a company known for its online reputation management, content protection, and digital marketing solutions.

PoliTalk’s gained significant popularity for its content that aimed to debunk lies and hypocrisies of Dravidianists, garnering a large following of viewers.

The channel recently faced targeted harassment due to its criticism of a Tamil talk show on Zee TV, specifically the show Tamizha Tamizha, hosted by leftist and Dravidian Stockist cinema director Karu Palaniappan.

The controversial episodes of the show covered topics such as “Marriage vs. Living Together” and “Traditional Women vs. Feminists,” sparking heated debates and discussions.

In the name of women empowerment, the show’s anchor was allegedly propagating Dravidian ideologies and influencing women to take the wrong path.

PoliTalk’s openly criticised several of these episodes, which went viral and amassed over a million views each. The public outcry resulting from these videos compelled Zee TV to replace the anchor and address the content-related concerns raised by viewers in March 2023.

In May 2023, AiPlex, on behalf of Zee TV, shared a deletion request with PoliTalk’s.

However, as YouTube permits criticism and review of content shown elsewhere, the videos were not removed.

Frustrated by this, AiPlex then went on to report specific videos on PoliTalk’s’ YouTube channel. Under YouTube’s policies, if a channel receives a minimum of three copyright strikes, it is disabled or shut down unless the infringing content is removed.

In this case, six videos featuring Karu Palaniappan’s content from the talk show were marked for copyright claims, ultimately leading to the channel’s disabling.

Who Is Karu Palaniappan?

Karu Palaniappan was formerly a Tamil cinema director and is the son of politician Pala Karuppaiah who is known for hopping from one party to another (AIADMK, DMK, Kamal Haasan’s MNM, to name a few). He is Dravidian Stockist and identifies himself as a ‘Periyarist’, a follower of rabid anti-Hindu demogogue EV Ramasamy Naicker.

Palaniappan is known for peddling canards against Hindus especially Tamil Brahmins.

In the above speech, Karu Palaniappan says “First let us drive them (Brahmins) out of our state to other states and then we will drive them out of the country.”

Karu Palaniappan has been in the news every now and then for his remarks on Savarkar. When quitting the show, Karu Palaniappan shared a Facebook post where he mentioned that “…if the words social justice, self-respect, Dravidam are bitter, it is better to end the journey!”

After he quit (a few sources say he was made to) Zee Tamil, he joined DMK-owned Kalaignar TV to host the show “Va Tamizha Va”.

Politically Motivated?

It is unclear whether this is a politically motivated move or if Zee TV is solely operating on legal grounds.

Over the past year, PoliTalk’s has tackled various issues and amassed a significant following, making its sudden takedown a matter of public concern.

The case sparks a broader conversation on the balance between copyright protection and freedom of speech in the digital realm.

The PoliTalks community, along with their dedicated followers, eagerly awaits further developments in this matter, hoping for a fair resolution that upholds the principles of transparency and open dialogue.

Why Opposition Unity Remains An Illusion: A Detailed Analysis

In the realm of Indian politics, the concept of opposition unity has often been discussed and debated. The idea of various opposition parties coming together to form a formidable front against the ruling party seems enticing, but is it truly feasible? In this article, we delve into the numbers and statistics to shed light on why opposition unity may simply be a mirage.

One cannot ignore the strikingly low strike rate of the Congress party, which stands at a meager 12.29%. In contrast, several other parties within the opposition have achieved much higher strike rates, with some even commanding over 90%. In light of this, it becomes questionable whether the Congress party can demand the largest share of the opposition space when there are other parties that have performed significantly better in recent elections.

However, the big question remains – Is the Congress Party even willing to listen? It appears that even divine intervention might not be enough to bring about a change in their approach.

With this in mind, we will present a series of research-based data analytics that will illustrate the impossibility for the Congress party to compete in 423 seats, as they did in the 2019 elections.

To begin with, let’s categorize the seats based on regions to gain a broader understanding before delving into the specifics. Here is how we would split India into regions:

South of Vindhyas: 130 seats
Western Region: 78 seats
Eastern Region: 63 seats
North East Region: 25 seats
Northern Region: 46 seats
Hindi Heartland: 199 seats
Islands of Andaman & Lakshadweep: 2 seats
Total: 543 seats

Next, let’s focus on sequencing based on the nature of the contests. We will consider the following:

  1. Direct Fight Seats (DF): These are seats in states or regions where there is a direct contest between the Congress and BJP, with marginal presence of other parties. Total: 137 seats (BJP won 125 seats, Congress won 8 seats)
  2. BJP vs. Regional Parties (BJP vs. RP): Seats where Congress is a peripheral player but still involved in the electoral battle. Total: 143 seats
  3. BJP-led alliance vs. Regional Parties-led alliance (part of UPA with Congress as a junior partner). Total: 142 seats
  4. Tri-Polar Contests: Seats where both the BJP and Congress are still significant players, although these contests could potentially become bipolar in the future. Total: 65 seats
  5. Contests between Regional Parties: Seats where neither the BJP nor Congress holds a significant stake. Total: 28 seats
  6. Congress Fights its National Allies: Seats where Congress competes against its own national allies, while the BJP remains a peripheral player. Total: 20 seats
  7. Other Fights: Remaining seats that do not fit into the above categories. Total: 8 seats

By conducting diligent research based on the parties contesting, their winning margins, and other relevant factors, we can gain a better understanding of the overall political landscape.

In the 2019 elections, the Congress party contested in 423 seats but managed to win only 52 seats, resulting in a strike rate of 12.29%. On the other hand, the BJP contested in 437 seats, achieving a significantly higher strike rate of 69.33%.

These figures clearly highlight the challenges the Congress Party faces in securing a substantial presence in Indian politics. While opposition unity might seem like an appealing idea, it is crucial to analyze the ground realities and understand the strengths and weaknesses of each party.

In conclusion, the illusion of opposition unity becomes apparent when examining the strike rates, contesting patterns, and electoral dynamics of various parties. The Congress Party’s struggle to maintain a significant presence coupled with the stronger performances of other opposition parties raises questions about the feasibility of a united opposition front. It is imperative for political observers, analysts, and party strategists to critically assess the numbers and make informed decisions based on empirical evidence rather than wishful thinking.

Exposing US Rep Pramila Jayapal’s Anti-India Agenda

US Congress Representative Pramila Jayapal has written a letter to President Joe Biden garnering support from over 70 US politicians, to express concerns about “human rights” in India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States.

In her letter to President Biden criticizing the Indian government, she relies on the dubious Democracy Index, Press Freedom Index, and the USCIRF Report to support her tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, a detailed investigative thread by DisInfo Lab has raised eyebrows about Pramila Jayapal’s letter peddling anti-India rhetoric. It is alleged that Pramila Jayapal’s ulterior motive may not be just “human rights” but purely financial gain. Previously, she expressed similar concerns about the situation in Kashmir in 2019. She poked her nose in India’s internal matters like the abrogation of Article 370 and the National Register for Citizens (NRC).

Coincidentally, during that time, the Pakistani government hired the US-based lobbying firm Holland & Knight. According to their own documents, Jayapal was one of the individuals approached by Holland & Knight.

Between August and December 2019, Jayapal spoke extensively about Kashmir, including writing a letter to the US Congress and supporting a resolution on the matter in December 2019. Interestingly, her focus on “human rights” in Kashmir abruptly ended in January 2020, coinciding with the conclusion of Holland & Knight’s contract with Pakistan. Since 2019, Jayapal has not tweeted about Kashmir.

There might be a lack of awareness among certain Indians regarding the intricacies of lobbying in the United States, as well as the limited scope of knowledge that US politicians sometimes possess beyond their own borders. There are dedicated firms in the US that are hired by vested political interests to peddle their agenda.

Jayapal’s connections with Islamists run deeper. She received approximately $20,000 in political campaign funding between 2014 and 2018 from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and implicated in a 2007 terror-funding case in the US.

In February 2023, Jayapal also expressed concern about the caste issue and supported Seattle’s “Anti-Caste Legislation”, which is backed by the Soros-funded organization Equality Labs.

Interestingly, between 2018 and 2022, Jayapal received $19,900 from Soros Fund Management.

Notably, Jayapal’s letter has been used as a tool by Jamaat-related Islamist groups like the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC), Hindus For Human Rights (HfHR), and the Polis Project.

HfHR was established in 2019 by two Islamist advocacy groups known as the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI). It is worth recalling that Sunita Vishwanath, co-founder of “Hindus for Human Rights,” was seated alongside Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit to the US.

The Polis Project is an organization that consistently advocates for the separation of Kashmir from India. They consistently refer to Kashmir as “Indian-administered” and label India as a “settler-colonialist” entity.

Furthermore, The Polis Project has extensively disseminated content alleging that Muslims in India are subjected to severe atrocities.

How US Outfits With Ties To Congress & Pak Terror Groups Are Campaigning Against PM Modi’s US Visit

A US-based organisation, “Hindus for Human Rights” has created a controversial toolkit intending to spread negative information about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a state visit to the United States. This toolkit, which is openly accessible on the organisation’s website, forms a part of their campaign against Modi and is titled “Modi Protest Toolkit.” As expected, this organisation is proudly promoting this document, which appears to contain propaganda material.

Upon having a closer look at the document, it can be seen that it provides details about the upcoming state visit on 22 June 2023.

The document accuses Prime Minister Modi of consolidating power for himself and encourages people to engage in protests while ensuring their own safety. The document states, “With the potential protests in DC and New York City, it is important to exercise our first amendment rights, and do so safely. Here is a protest toolkit for all your protest needs.”

The toolkit emphasized the importance of protesters being well-informed about the “cause” or issue they were protesting for and being prepared accordingly. This may be attributed to the observation that in many protests, individuals who have little knowledge about the purpose of the protest often end up being prominently featured in media coverage. However, it is worth noting that the concerns raised by Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR) and other organizations lack substantive evidence or support on the ground.

Interestingly, the document provided guidelines that suggested disabling biometric features on devices as a means to safeguard privacy. It also advised against sharing identifying information with fellow protesters. The actual content of the toolkit followed the introductory guidelines and provided pre-drafted tweet formats intended to target both President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The document included several examples of these tweets, such as:

1. “Dear @POTUS, as you meet with PM Modi, we urge you to prioritize human rights and democracy. Stand up for the people of India and ensure accountability for any authoritarian actions. #BidenHoldModiAccountable #HumanRightsMatter”

2. “As President Biden meets PM Modi, we must not forget the importance of holding leaders accountable. Democracy is under threat, and it’s time to speak up. We demand transparency, justice, and respect for human rights. #AccountabilityNow #IndiaVisit”

3. “The erosion of democracy is alarming. It’s time to speak up against authoritarianism in India. We stand against any restrictions on free speech, press freedom, and minority rights. #DefendDemocracy #ModiAuthoritarianism”

4. “As citizens, we have the right to question those in power. We demand transparency, accountability, and respect for human rights in India. Let’s unite to protect our democratic values. #IndiaAgainstAuthoritarianism #StandAgainstModi”

The document also provided a list of hashtags to be used in tweets directed at President Biden, including #BidenHoldModiAccountable, #HumanRightsMatter, #AccountabilityNow, #IndiaVisit, #DefendDemocracy, #ModiAccountability, #BidenSpeakUp, and #HoldModiAccountable.

The hashtags recommended for tweets directed at PM Modi were #DefendDemocracy, #ModiAuthoritarianism, #IndiaAgainstAuthoritarianism, #StandAgainstModi, #ProtectDemocracy, #NoToAuthoritarianism, #StandUpForDemocracy, #ModiAuthoritarianMoves, and #IndiaDeservesBetter.

Additionally, the document provided suggested the below chants for protesters to vocalize, including:

The document also had posters such as the ones below to be shared on social media.

Rahul Gandhi recently went on a 10-day tour of the United States, during which he delivered speeches at prominent venues such as the National Press Club and Stanford University. He also engaged in discussions with various “think tanks” regarding the relationship between India and the United States. These images were shared on Twitter that show Rahul Gandhi engaged in deep conversations with these think tanks. One of the notable people he met includes, Sunita Vishwanath, co-founder of “Hindus for Human Rights,” who was seated alongside Rahul Gandhi during an event at the Hudson Institute.

It appears that the organization has been actively preparing to oppose Prime Minister Modi’s visit for some time. In a tweet on 5 June 2023, they expressed disappointment with Senators Schumer and Speaker McCarthy inviting Modi to a Joint Meeting of Congress. They stated, “Extremely disappointed to see Sen Schumer Speaker McCarthy invite Modi to a Joint Meeting of Congress. The friendship between the US and India has long been bound by shared values of secular democracy and freedom. In India, those values are dissolving before our very eyes.”

https://twitter.com/Hindus4HR/status/1665756623795519492?s=20

According to Disinfo Lab, an OSINT that specialises in investigating information warfare and psychological warfare, an investigation revealed that “Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR)” had been promoting a misleading narrative of “Hindu vs. Hindutva.” Just to jog our readers’ memory, this same organisation had endorsed the “Dismantling Global Hindutva” event.

According to Disinfo Lab, HfHR was established in 2019 by two Islamist advocacy groups known as the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI). Interestingly, these three organizations formed another entity called the Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA).

As reported by The Hindu, the Alliance for Justice and Accountability had been at the forefront of leading demonstrations against Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Houston on September 22, 2019.

Disinfo Lab also revealed that Sunita Vishwanath, the co-founder of Hindus for Human Rights, is also associated with an organization called “Women for Afghan Women,” which receives funding from the Soros Open Society Foundation.

It is noteworthy that Sunita Vishwanath, pictured alongside Rahul Gandhi, had attempted to create fear and panic among Indian Muslims regarding the National Register of Citizens (NRC). She stated, “We are especially appalled by the most recent nightmare of the Kashmiri people and the situation of 1.9 million people in India who are rendered stateless due to the imposition of the travesty called the National Register of Citizens.” It is important to note that even during Rahul Gandhi’s USA trip, he endorsed dangerous falsehoods and propaganda against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC, which led to anti-Hindu riots in India in 2020. In the recent US trip, Rahul Gandhi met with people at events arranged by co-ordinators associated with Pak Jamaat-e-Islami & Muslim Brotherhood-linked fronts.

Our readers will remember that Sunita Vishwanath, the co-founder of HfHR, also has close connections with George Soros and the Islamist-linked IAMC.

“People Who Build Temples, Believe In BJP-RSS Are Undemocratic”, Says Congress Leader Sam Pitroda

In a video that has been going viral on Twitter, Sam Pitroda, former advisor of former PM, Rajiv Gandhi and the chief of the Indian Overseas Congress has made some alarming statements.

In the video which seems to be a portion of a longer interaction, Sam Pitroda explains that there are 2 types of NRIs.

One group he says, builds temples, believes in God, believes in the BJP and the RSS. He says that no one can change them. He also mentions that this group of NRIs constitutes only 30% but is very vocal and visible. He claims that this group put in extra time, money, and effort to get the point across.

He continues by saying that there is another group, the remaining 70% of people who believe in democracy, freedom. human rights, justice, equality, and diversity and these are professionals, academicians, scientists, engineers, and businessmen who are busy and they are not temple-going mostly.

It is noteworthy that it was Sam Pitroda that helped arrange the meetings that Rahul Gandhi attended during his US tour. In this tweet, we can see Sunita Vishwanath associated with Muslim Jihadi organizations and was the one behind the Dismantling Hindutva Conference.

In his recent speech in New York during Rahul Gandhi’s US tour, Sam Pitroda stated that while India faces unemployment and high inflation, the focus remains on temples, which he believes won’t create jobs. Pitroda insisted that issues such as unemployment, inflation, education, and health need attention.

During an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai, when questioned about Rahul Gandhi’s controversial remarks about India on foreign soil, Sam Pitroda defended Rahul Gandhi’s right to express his opinions and questioned the notion that one cannot criticize their own country while abroad.

He dismissed the demand for Gandhi to apologize, stating that Gandhi had not said anything that warranted an apology in a democracy. Pitroda denied allegations that Gandhi sought foreign intervention in India’s affairs, emphasizing that India’s democracy is a global concern.

BJP Leader SG Suryah Granted Bail, DMK Govt Left Embarrassed Again

Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary SG Suryah who was arrested for his statement against Madurai Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP Su Venkatesan has been granted bail.

In a scathing letter addressed to Madurai MP Su Venkatesan, SG Suryah had alleged that a hygiene worker died due to allergies in the body after a Communist party ward member named Viswanathan forced him to clean the drain.

SG Suryah was arrested on frivolous charges as he had mentioned Madurai instead of Cuddalore district while lambasting Communist MP Su Venkatesan.

He was placed under judicial remand till 1 July 2023 and a bail plea was moved in the Madurai court. The court heard the bail plea on 20 June 2023 following which the BJP leader was granted conditional bail by Madurai Judicial Magistrate dismissing the plea of the cybercrime police to interrogate Suryah in custody.

This is not the first time that the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu was made to bite dust by the courts.

In December 2021, the Madras High Court quashed the Goondas Act against Kishore following which he was released from prison.

Another popular DMK-critic YouTuber Maridhas who was arrested on December 9, 2021 was set free by the Madras High Court after it had quashed the FIRs registered against him.

In another instance YouTuber Karthik Gopinath was granted bail in a case relating to the money raised by him for renovating temples at Siruvachur.

Veera Vanchinathan: The Hero Who Turned Ashe To Ashes, Unmasking The Falsehood Peddled By Dravidian Gangs

On the fateful day of 17 June 1911, history was forever altered by a courageous act of defiance in the heartland of Tamil Nadu. The stage was set at the Maniyachi Railway Junction, a bustling hub of activity, where a train briefly paused, unaware of the impending tragedy that awaited one of its passengers.

In a swift and audacious move, a young revolutionary from Tamil Nadu seized the moment. Armed with unwavering determination and a resolute belief in the cause he championed, 26-year-old Vanchinathan emerged as a symbol of courage and defiance against British colonial rule. Today, he is hailed as Veera Vanchinathan or Veera Vanchi, an embodiment of valour and sacrifice.

His target was none other than Robert Ashe, the British collector of Tirunelveli District, who represented the oppressive regime that had gripped the land. With unwavering conviction, Vanchinathan aimed his weapon and fired, ending Ashe’s life in an act of revolutionary retribution.

Veera Vanchinathan’s actions reverberated throughout the nation, sending shockwaves through the British establishment and emboldening countless others in the fight for independence. His act of defiance was not simply an act of revenge, but a powerful statement that resistance was alive and thriving in the hearts of the oppressed.

For years, organisations such as Vanchinathan Peravai or Veera Vanchi Iyakkam have been honouring the memory of Vanchinathan by placing floral tributes and adorning his statue in Senkottai. Over the past five to six years, certain fringe groups and individuals have made it an annual tradition to exploit this occasion in order to promote their divisive agenda within the Hindu community.

A lesser-known group called Athi Tamilar Peravai, which purports to be a Dalit organisation, held a memorial ceremony at the tomb of Robert William d’Escourt Ashe. This tomb is situated within the grounds of the English Church, directly opposite St. John’s College in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli. It is worth mentioning that Ashe was assassinated by Vanchinathan.

Robert William d’Escourt Ashe, commonly referred to as Collector Ashe, held the position of Acting Collector and District Magistrate of Tirunelveli. He played a prominent role in suppressing the freedom movement by employing harsh police measures against patriots. It is believed that he took it upon himself to dismantle the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company, which was established by V O Chidambaram Pillai, a renowned freedom fighter who dedicated his wealth to promote the company. The British Raj, concerned about its impact on their commercial interests, resorted to both legal and unethical means to undermine the Swadeshi shipping initiatives, leading to financial losses and the eventual closure of the company.

Vanchi enjoyed a contented family life and held a well-paying government position when he became aware of V O Chidambaram Pillai, commonly known as V O C, who was actively opposing the British colonialists. In 1906, V O C initiated the establishment of the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company, an Indian shipping enterprise aimed at challenging the British monopoly in the shipping industry within the region. Additionally, V O C organised workers and led a strike against the management firm A&F Harvey, which was notorious for providing inadequate wages to its labourers. It is worth noting that Ashe provided unwavering support to the said management firm.

Likewise, Ashe displayed a particular interest in accusing Chidambaranar and his associate Subramania Siva of sedition. Consequently, Chidambaranar was convicted and sentenced to double life imprisonment as a punishment. This development ignited strong sentiments among freedom fighters in the area. Ashe, determined to dismantle the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company, went to great lengths to achieve his objective. Furthermore, he authorised the use of lethal force during protests against VOC’s arrest by issuing shoot-on-sight orders.

These events deeply saddened the freedom fighters and numerous young individuals. Filled with a desire to seek vengeance for these atrocities, they patiently awaited the opportune moment. Taking inspiration from movements like Abhinava Bharat, they united under the banner of Bharata Mata Sangam. Guided by figures such as Va Ve Su Aiyar, who had provided assistance to Veer Savarkar in England, and Neelakanta Brahmachari, the youth received guidance and direction. Among them, Vanchinathan was chosen to undertake a significant mission. At that time, Vanchinathan held a temporary job in Senkottai within the princely state of Travancore. He had been married for less than a year, and his teenage wife was visiting her family during this period.

On 17 June 1911, Collector Ashe and his wife were travelling to Kodaikanal, a hill station, for a period of rest and recuperation. They were occupying a special saloon cabin, which had been stationed at Maniyachi Junction in anticipation of their onward journey to Kodaikanal. Unexpectedly, Vanchinathan entered the cabin and fired two shots at close range, instantly ending Ashe’s life. In response, Ashe’s wife raised an alarm, prompting Vanchinathan to flee along the platform and lock himself in a restroom. Tragically, Vanchinathan took his own life while inside the restroom. Accompanying Vanchinathan was another young individual named Sankara Krishnan Aiyar, who had been standing outside the cabin.

The Letter

The assassination was triggered by an unambiguous message found in a letter discovered in Vanchinathan’s shirt pocket at the scene. The letter read as follows:

“I dedicate my life as a small contribution to my motherland. I am solely responsible for this act. The English invaders have occupied our country, trampling upon the eternal principles of Hinduism and seeking to destroy them. Every Indian is striving to drive out the English, establish self-rule (swarajyam), and restore the principles of Hinduism. Our great figures such as Raman, Sivaji, Krishnan, Guru Govindan, and Arjuna ruled our land, protecting all aspects of righteousness. However, in our land, arrangements are being made to crown George V, a foreigner (mleccha) who consumes beef.

Three thousand individuals from Madras have taken a vow to kill George V as soon as he sets foot in our country. To make our intentions known, I, being the least among them, have carried out this deed today. This is a duty that every individual in Hindustan should consider.

I will kill Ashe, whose presence here is to celebrate the crowning of George V, a king who consumes the flesh of cows, in this glorious land that was once governed by great emperors. I do this to make them understand the fate that awaits those who seek to enslave this sacred land.

As the least among them, I wish to send a warning to George by killing Ashe.

Vande Mataram. Vande Mataram. Vande Mataram.”

Controversies And Alternative Narratives: Debunking Misconceptions Surrounding The Event

In recent years, a new narrative has emerged surrounding the assassination of Collector Ashe, more than a century after the event took place. This narrative presents a twist in the tale, challenging the straightforward facts. It is intriguing to delve into the details of this alternative perspective. Certain individuals, masquerading as historians, and organisations like ATP have begun projecting Ashe as a “crusader of social justice” and painting Vanchinathan as a casteist Brahmin. They offer two reasons that supposedly led to the “martyrdom” of Collector Ashe:

1) According to this claim, Ashe made Courtallam Falls accessible to all, including common people, despite it allegedly being reserved for upper castes. This so-called “noble” action by Ashe is said to have angered the upper castes, who supposedly “commissioned” Vanchinathan to eliminate Ashe. However, this claim is easily refuted as no concrete evidence or government order supports the notion that Ashe opened the falls to all castes. When nationalists challenged these assertions, the so-called champions of Dalits failed to provide any proof of such a “noble” action.

Another press report provides an interesting and historically plausible perspective. A press report from October 2, 2019, reveals that Mahatma Gandhi refused to bathe at Kutralam Falls during his visit in 1934 due to the prevalence of untouchability there. It is strange to discover that twenty-three years after Ashe’s assassination, the same status quo of untouchability persisted. This information undermines the claims made about Ashe’s actions against untouchability at the falls.

When this theory was debunked, the proponents of the alternative narrative resorted to wild imagination and presented a sentimental story.

2) K G Kalaikannan, the Tirunelveli district secretary of the Aadhi Tamilar Peravai, put forth a version stating that Vanchinatha Iyer was provoked by Ashe’s wife, Mary Lillian Patterson, who assisted a pregnant outcast woman in need of immediate medical treatment to pass through the agraharam. According to this claim, Vanchinathan killed Ashe to protect the Brahminical establishment. However, there is no evidence to prove the occurrence of this incident.

In the face of these conflicting accounts, it becomes crucial to critically analyse the evidence presented and seek a clearer understanding of the true events surrounding the assassination of Collector Ashe.

Amid the concerted efforts by Dravidian outfits to tarnish the legacy of our freedom fighters and distort their sacrifices, it is an opportune moment to reflect on the words of Bharathiyar’s poignant poem: “This crop called freedom is not nurtured by water. It has flourished amidst tears. Do we possess the audacity to ruin it?”.

The targeting of Tamil Brahmins by Dravidian outfits is not a recent phenomenon, but the intensity of their hate propaganda has reached its peak, sparing not even the revered freedom fighters.
