DMK Which Waxes Eloquent On ‘Social Justice’ Allots 2 Reserved Seats To VCK, Thirumavalavan Agrees

On March 8, 2024, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) finalized seat-sharing arrangements with the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. In this alliance, the VCK will contest two seats, specifically Chidambaram and Villupuram, both reserved constituencies, as it did in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

DMK President M.K. Stalin and VCK Chief Thol. Thirumavalavan signed the agreement, formalizing the allocation of two seats to the VCK in Tamil Nadu. Thirumavalavan, in a meeting with Stalin at the Secretariat, mentioned that discussions on seat-sharing had been extensive.

Thirumavalavan explained that the initial request was for three reserved constituency seats and one general category seat, later revised to two reserved and one general category seat. Following negotiations and considering the national and state-level political context, the VCK agreed to the pact for two seats, maintaining coordination within the alliance, as seen in the 2019 elections. He also noted that the VCK would contest using its own symbol.

It is to be noted that Thirumavalavan’s VCK will be contesting in the same two reserved constituencies that the party had contesting in 2009, 2019.

The DMK which waxes eloquent on ‘social justice’ have always contained and limited the VCK to 2 seats and that too reserved ones.

VCK leader Vanniyarasu in an interview had said that during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections the VCK had asked for contesting from a general (unreserved) constituency to which Karunanidhi had supposedly said “You guys don’t aspire for general seats”.

Many on social media called out the hypocrisy and opportunism of both the DMK and VCK as they leave no opportunity to give lectures on ‘social justice’.

One user wrote “even tomato rice which used to cost ₹5 20 years back costs ₹35 now”.

Another netizen gave a comical twist to the “adanga maru atthu meeru thirupi adi (Refuse to be cowed down, exceed limits, rise and hit back)” slogan of the VCK saying “Cow down, don’t even thing of crossing the limit, turn and cry, fall at the feet of DMK”.

TN BJP Chief Annamalai Slams DMK As TANGEDCO Cancel Contract And Recovers Bank Guarantees Submitted By BGR

From the outset, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu has consistently worked towards canceling the contract granted to BGR Energy. In the previous month of February, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) terminated a minor contract awarded to BGR Energy for establishing a substation, citing significant delays in project execution.

This move by the TNEB follows a checkered history with BGR Energy, as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) had previously scrapped a contract with the company in April 2021, citing its consistent failure to meet performance expectations. Financial indicators also paint a grim picture for BGR Energy, revealing a bank balance of a mere ₹33 crore last year and a staggering net loss of ₹355 crores.

The BJP Tamil Nadu has been criticizing the ruling DMK government’s attempt to revive the contract. The TANGEDCO apart from silently cancelling the contract has now recovered₹128 Crore Bank Guarantee submitted by BGR following the continuous whistleblowing by K. Annamalai.

The Tamil Nadu BJP president, through the official X handle, has provided a detailed account of the matter, raising questions and seeking an explanation for this decision from the taxpayers of the state. “Since October 2021, @BJP4TamilNadu has repeatedly voiced against the DMK govt’s decision not to award the ₹4472 Crore contract back to BGR Energy. The Gopalapuram family & the former Minister without portfolio, who is currently imprisoned for corruption, never heeded our request not to waste taxpayers’ money. After all their efforts to revive fell flat, TANGEDCO discreetly cancelled this contract early this year and has recovered the ₹128 Crore Bank Guarantee submitted by BGR. Now that this contract is cancelled again, will TN CM Thiru @mkstalin explain to the people of TN at least why he was desperate to revive this company?”

A timeline of events related to the Lanco Infratech project, highlighting the bankruptcy of Lanco Infratech, the renewal of environmental clearance, and the project’s subsequent award to BGR Energy Systems was released by Annamalai. It outlines the cancellation of the Letter of Intent (LOI) in April 2021, BGR Energy’s legal petition, and the order by the Chief Minister, MK Stalin, to reinstate the contract. The BJP exposed alleged connections between the Gopalapuram family, BGR Energy, and the former minister. Despite a settlement between TANGEDCO and BGR, the project reportedly showed no progress, leading to the silent cancellation of the contract in January 2024. TANGEDCO had to encash the ₹128 Crore Bank Guarantee due to the delay in project commencement.

Context Timeline:

The timeline presented outlines the events related to the 1 x 660 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Station Project in Ennore, Tamil Nadu:

1. In 2014, Lanco Infratech was awarded the project.
2. By 2017, Lanco Infratech declared bankruptcy and filed for liquidation before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
3. On 11.12.2019, environmental clearance was renewed, and the project was awarded to BGR Energy Systems on 12.12.2019, valued at 74472 Crores.
4. On 23.04.2021, TANGEDCO informed BGR Systems about the cancellation of the Letter of Intent (LOI) regarding the contract award.
5. On 28.04.2021, BGR Energy filed a Writ Petition at the Madras High Court, with Senior Advocate P Wilson (DMK Rajya Sabha MP) appearing as senior counsel for BGR Energy.
6. In August 2021, a High-level committee chaired by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, ordered the reinstatement of the contract to BGR Energy.
7. In October 2021, BJP Tamil Nadu exposed alleged connections between the Gopalapuram Family, BGR Energy, and former Minister Senthil Balaji.
8. In February 2022, TANGEDCO and BGR reached a settlement, leading to the withdrawal of the writ petition against TANGEDCO by BGR Energy.
9. On 09.03.2022, TANGEDCO reinstated the Letter of Award (LOA) to BGR with a new commencement date for the contract.
10. On 19.08.2023, BJP Tamil Nadu published a letter from TANGEDCO to BGR Energy, indicating no progress in the project after 15 months of reinstating the contract.
11. In January 2024, the contract issued to BGR was silently canceled as the debt-ridden BGR Energy, attempting revival, reportedly “failed” due to Senthil Balaji’s imprisonment since June 2023.
12. On 5th February 2024, TANGEDCO had to encash the Rs. 128 Crore Bank Guarantee issued by BGR Energy due to the delay in the commencement of work.

In 2022, Annamalai had previously accused TANGEDCO of offering the ₹4,442 crore deal to BGR Energy amid financial troubles, alleging favoritism by the DMK government. Electricity Minister V. Senthil Balaji denied wrongdoing, citing due diligence.

NCB Says Drug Lord & DMK Former Functionary Earned A Lot Through Drug Trafficking; Invested In Films, Construction, Real Estate; ‘Mangai’ Film Fully Funded By Drug Money

In a major breakthrough, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) apprehended former DMK NRI Wing office bearer and Tamil film producer Jaffer Sadiq in connection with an expansive international drug trafficking network on 9 March 2024. The arrest sheds light on Sadiq’s alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade, as well as his use of drug proceeds to invest in various industries, including films, construction, and hospitality, as a means to conceal his criminal activities.

NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh, during a press conference, revealed the extent of Jaffer Sadiq’s operations. According to Singh, the drug racket orchestrated by Sadiq spanned across India, reaching locations such as New Delhi and Tamil Nadu, and extended internationally to New Zealand, Australia, and Malaysia.

“Jaffer Sadiq, who was running the international drug trafficking network, his drug racket spread from New Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and other places in India to New Zealand, Australia, and Malaysia,” he stated.

The arrest comes after the NCB seized a significant amount of pseudoephedrine, totaling 50kg, in the national capital. Pseudoephedrine is a key ingredient in the production of methamphetamine, a highly sought-after illicit substance. The discovery of the drug haul prompted a targeted investigation into Jaffer Sadiq’s alleged involvement in the drug trade and money laundering.

“He has sent 3,500 kg pseudoephedrine in 45 parcels to Australia,” said Gyaneshwar Singh, NCB Deputy Director General. Pseudoephedrine was sent abroad concealed in coconuts and dry fruits. It is used in the production of methamphetamine, or crystal meth, and is a controlled substance in India,” stated Singh.

Sadiq managed to evade authorities, making his way to Jaipur through a route that included Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad, according to the NCB official.

According to Singh, Jaffer Sadiq accumulated substantial wealth through drug trafficking and strategically invested it across multiple industries. Film production, construction, and hospitality were identified as sectors where the accused utilized the proceeds to create a facade for his criminal operations. Singh said, “The Tamil film Mangai is fully funded through drug money, he also invested drug money in real estate, and he built a hotel using drug money. Partners and renowned personalities of the Tamil film industry are also known to be associated with him in film production. Link and penetration into the film industry are under probe. Links with producers and financers in Mumbai are also being probed.”

It is noteworthy that DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s wife Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi was the chief guest at the launch of a single from the film Mangai.

“Based on specific intelligence, today Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has successfully arrested Jaffer Sadiq,” the NCB official stated. Authorities in India are actively collaborating with their counterparts in New Zealand and Australia to dismantle the transnational drug trafficking network allegedly orchestrated by Jaffer Sadiq. 

As the investigation unfolds, questions surrounding Jaffer Sadiq’s links and penetration into the film industry, along with alleged connections to producers and financiers in Mumbai, are set to be probed.

Ancient Idol Of Lord Ram Unearthed From Late DMK Patriarch Karunanidhi’s Home District

During the consecration ceremony for Lord Ram in Ayodhya, the I.N.D.I alliance found it challenging to accept and, consequently, opposed and distanced itself from the event, citing multiple reasons. Tamil Nadu Congress MP Jothimani supported this stance, emphasizing that Tamil Nadu primarily worships clan gods and lacks a Ram temple. Additionally, the DMK actively disrupted the occasion in various ways. However, it is noteworthy that Lord Ram’s idol has now been discovered in the late DMK patriarch Karunanidhi’s home district, Thiruvarur who had mocked Lord Ram several times.

In 2007 the plan Sethusamudram project was withdrawn due to technical difficulties of shallow water. At the backdrop, Karunanidhi rhetorically asked, “Who is this Raman? In which engineering college did he study and become a civil engineer? When did he build this so-called bridge? Is there any evidence for this?“.

While excavating the foundation for his house in Perumalakaram, Tiruvarur district, Marimuthu, a resident, made a remarkable discovery. Buried at a depth of 5 feet, he uncovered a precious ancient idol of Lord Ram made from a 5-metal alloy known as Aimpon, standing about 2 feet tall. Alongside the idol, a string lamp, a chain for hanging the lamp, and a headband were also found. Marimuthu, the owner of a flower shop on Koradacherry market street near Perumal Temple, expressed immense joy and a sense of blessing.

Upon receiving the information, government officials promptly visited the site for inspection. The village administrative officer, Rajkumar, and the tehsildar, Devendran, took charge of the situation. Devendran swiftly seized the Ram idol and transported it to the Tahsildar’s office. The Tahsildar stated that the true nature of the statue, whether it is an Aimpon idol or crafted from another metal, as well as its value, can only be determined after examination by archaeologists. Interestingly, the local residents recalled a similar discovery more than 40 years ago, where over 10 different types of metal objects, including a Ram padam, were found in the area.

Immediately when Thanthi TV reported this discovery, netizens celebrated this by ridiculing and mocking Dravidianists and Periyarists.

Later on, as the Dravidian communities found it challenging to endure the ridicule associated with the discovery, they devised a strategy to support this finding by asserting that the idol represented not Lord Ram but Buddha.

A netizen sarcastically inquired, “Since when did your Ram had hair bun his head and a long hole in his ear? He found a statue of Buddha, put saffron, sandalwood and garlanded it and told the story that it was a statue of Rama.”

In Tamil Nadu, a cultural custom prevailed where individuals adorned Kundalam (Earrings) on their ears, a tradition mirrored in statues and idols. For instance, at the Thiruvarur Kothanda Ramar Temple, the depictions of Lord Ram and Lakshman prominently feature elongated earrings. In the era predating British influence, it was customary to adorn long bunned hairstyles. However, the attempts by the D-Stock to manipulate narratives in their favor often lead to their exposure due to their lack of awareness.

Even in our contemporary age, where modern technology enables the swift collection of data to distinguish between truth and falsehood within seconds, the prevalence of false narratives and fabricated data remains a disheartening reality.

BJP TN Head Annamalai Busts DMK’s Rhetoric On Padma Awardee Not Getting A House Under PMAY, Shows Stalin The Mirror

Kalaignar News channel shared a report on the situation of Padma Shri awardee Chinna Pillai, a renowned social activist from Madurai district. The report claimed that Chinna Pillai was not allotted a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had honoured Chinna Pillai with the Nari Shakti Puraskar award in 2001, and later, in 2019, he was bestowed with the Padma Shri. Vajpayee’s gesture of bowing down at Chinna Pillai’s feet during the award ceremony became a memorable moment. Chinna Pillai expressed disappointment in a recent interview, revealing that despite assurances, he had not received the promised house.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin took to social media platform X to announce that he would have a house allotted for her under the Kalaignar Dream House Scheme. Stalin promised a plot of 380 sqft in addition to the one-cent house plot already provided by the government. In his post, he wrote, “I saw a video of Padma Shri Chinna Pillai speaking with pain that the house promised to her under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme has not yet been provided. Do not worry! In addition to the house already given to him, a plot for 380 square feet of land is given. Also, he will be given a new house under the scheme #லைஞரின்_கனவு_இல்லம். Construction will begin this month!”

Chinna Pillai, a key figure in the self-help group Kalanchiyam, has a history of championing fair wages for women agricultural laborers and rescuing families from usury. Despite facing poverty and advancing age, she continues his dedicated social work.

Debunking the narrative that Kalaignar News tried to create, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party president K Annamalai, responded to Stalin’s post on X. He pointed out that PM Awas Yojana, a scheme funded by the Central Government, was implemented through the State Government. He wrote, “It is painful that Chief Minister Stalin does not even know that it is the state government’s responsibility to identify the beneficiaries and mobilize the funds from the central government. For the past two years, Chief Minister Mr. Stalin has gone to politics without even knowing that the DMK government has been accused of not providing funds and land to build a house for Padma Shri Chinna Pillai Amma.”

He further added that the Tahsildar had given only one cent of land to build a house after asking the District Collector. “Padmasree Chinnapillai Amma has been ignored without any solution even after complaining about it several times. Chief Minister Stalin has left all these hidden and has set out to stick a sticker without shame,” he concluded.

“Bharat Mata P*d*nguna Mata”: NTK Head Seeman Abuses Bharat Mata, Says There Was No India

Sebastian Simon, popularly known as Seeman, the chief-coordinator of the political party Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), has once again stirred controversy. His inflammatory remarks against Bharat Mata, the national personification of India as a mother goddess, are attracting widespread attention. Simon’s comments suggest separatist ideologies by insinuating that there was no India until the British invasion, effectively recycling historical narratives.

Speaking at an event a few weeks ago, Seeman commenced his address by elucidating that the widespread corruption in Tamil Nadu is attributable to party leaders who demand funds in exchange for assigning portfolios to ministers and exert pressure on them to contribute financially.

He mocked Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party president, for being assigned Z security by the home ministry due to threats in the state. However, NTK chief Seeman referred to him as a “Scared Chicken.”

“They ask me, how do you roam without fear? What should I be afraid of, am I a scared chicken like my brother Annamalai? Whatever protection the Chief Minister gets, Annamalai has asked for the same thing,” he said.

Then he recounted a fabricated story by presenting a poster featuring an elderly woman portrayed as an Indian queen. He questioned the audience, suggesting that India did not exist until the British arrived, and proceeded to insult Bharatha Mata. He said, “It is written there, I asked my grandmother Mathi. What is it that you have written my grandmother as Queen of India? Is she Queen of India? Where was India in our grandmother’s time? Where was your India during the time of my grandfather Pulithevan and Alagumuthukoan? Your India, Where was your Bharata matha ‘Pudunguna Matha’? This is my country, after defeating all of us, the white man named India as the land he created by combining all the provinces built by him. This was Tamil Nadu when my grandmother was alive, my grandfather Pulithevan, Azhakumuthukon, Sundaralinganar were alive, this was Tamil Nadu, the liberation of the Tamil homeland, what was India then? At that time, my grandmother did not say Bharat Matha Ki Jai, we only said Vetrivel Veeravel.”

Then he criticized the government’s partiality in the school education system, highlighting that while everything is available in Chennai, towns and villages lack basic facilities such as restrooms, blackboards, roofs, and windows. As a result, he argued that there is no equitable education system, only a balanced curriculum. He further contended that both the DMK and the ADMK engage solely in electoral politics, with no other substantial contributions.

Mocking the ruling DMK government, he pointed out the irony of claiming a lack of funds for repairing dilapidated schools while allocating 88 crores for constructing a mausoleum for his father, Karunanidhi. Ridiculing the state of electoral politics, he mocked, “During the sixty-year rule, have made my grandmother to raise hand for a thousand rupees, that is electoral politics, when the election comes, a thousand rupees to the head of the family, thirty rupees a day, can’t my mother earn thirty rupees? Didn’t you not make our mother beg for thirty rupees during these period? “Paradesi Payale”.”

Former DMK NRI Wing Office Bearer & International Druglord Jaffer Sadiq Arrested By NCB

 On 9 March 2024, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) announced the arrest of Jaffer Sadiq, the mastermind behind the India-Australia-New Zealand drug trafficking network currently under investigation by the agency.

Gyaneshwar Singh, the Deputy Director General (Operations), is scheduled to conduct a press conference later today to provide detailed insights into the matter.

Sadiq, a producer of five Tamil films, was the leader of a cartel responsible for shipping Pseudoephedrine from India to Australia and New Zealand, as per the sources. A fortnight ago, four individuals from Tamil Nadu were apprehended in a Delhi warehouse.

Sadiq, who was affiliated with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and serving as the Deputy Organiser for the Chennai West NRI Wing, was permanently expelled from the party on 25 February 2024 following the revelation of his involvement with the drug cartel.

The case unraveled when authorities from New Zealand and Australia alerted Indian agencies about substantial drug smuggling in their countries, disguised as food products. The NCB was probing the possibility of drug money being used to fund films.

In February, New Zealand customs and Australian police provided information about large amounts of pseudoephedrine, hidden in desiccated coconut powder, being shipped to both countries. Additional information from the US Drug Enforcement Administration pointed to Delhi as the source of the consignment.

An international drug trafficking network has been broken up by a combined operation from the NCB and the Special Cell of Delhi Police, resulting in the seizure of at least 50 kg of Pseudoephedrine in Delhi.

Following extensive questioning, officials disclosed that over the past three years, 45 shipments containing roughly 3,500 kg of pseudoephedrine, worth over ₹2,000 crore in the international market, had been dispatched.

According to the NCB, Sadiq is reportedly the mastermind behind the drug trafficking ring spanning India, Australia, and New Zealand. Sadiq, who has five film productions to his credit, allegedly operated a cartel that transported pseudoephedrine from India to Australia and New Zealand. Four individuals from Tamil Nadu were apprehended in a Delhi warehouse two weeks prior.

 Jaffer Sadiq is also being investigated by the NIA for using fake passports and his alleged involvement in IS recruiting.

2024 National Elections – Andhra Pradesh Is Guaranteed For The BJP!

The national elections are fast approaching. There’s a buzz and excitement around this year’s elections, with India on the cusp of a new era of economic might, military confidence, and cultural pride. The elections are also expected to reiterate India-Bharat’s faith in the policies and performance of the BJP government (Bharatiya Janata Party) in both domestic and international affairs as well as the acknowledged leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This year’s elections may be the BJP’s best chance in decades, to capture both the imagination and the votes of the South Indian people in the upcoming national elections. State elections are a different challenge altogether with unique circumstances in each of the Southern states but National elections present a fair chance for the BJP to appeal to the South Indian people on the subjects of national security, good governance, economic growth, international reputation, cultural unity and religious pride. 

There is a high likelihood that Karnataka, which already has a significant BJP presence, will vote in favour of the BJP in sizeable numbers in the 2024 National /Lok Sabha elections. In Telangana, where the BJP has gone from single-digit to double-digit wins in under five years, the BJP hopes to further increase its vote share, banking on the almost 20% vote share it captured in the 2019 national elections. 

In Tamil Nadu, Mr. Annamalai’s rising popularity, PM Modi’s inauguration of the Ram Temple, Mr. Modi’s frequent visits to TN, the success of his Kashi-Tamil Sangamam conclaves, Modi’s recent pilgrimage visits to TN before the Ayodhya temple inauguration and his sincere efforts to strike the right chord with the Tamil people combined with the DMK’s image as a minority-appeasement party with an anti-Hindu streak, is helping the BJP make major inroads in the state. In Kerala, the BJP with the assistance of a strong RSS presence in certain districts, combined with the public’s dissatisfaction with the current LDF (Left Front political parties) government, accused of both corruption and a pro-Muslim stance, hopes to increase its numbers substantially.  

Ironically, the BJP ‘s strength in numbers is almost guaranteed in Andhra Pradesh – a state in which it has the least presence on its own strength! The party is yet to find sincere, ideologically strong leaders in the state, that will help it get past the single-digit phase in the state. Yet AP is the BJP’s best bet in the South because all the regional parties in the state have guaranteed their support for the BJP, either with an internal, pre-electoral alliance or with unconditional, external, post-electoral support for all of the BJP’s bills at the central level. 

A majority of the nation’s citizens, including those from the South are impressed with the electoral promises delivered on time by the BJP government at the centre, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the significant reduction in terrorist activities, the crackdown on anti-national organizations and the inauguration of the long-awaited Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya. 

As of Friday, 8 March 2024, confirmed news from Delhi came about that the BJP and Andhra’s TDP are in “serious” talks about a seat-sharing arrangement, confirming a long-awaited alliance. The leaders of Andhra’s political partners (Telugu Desam Party-TDP and the Jana Sena Party-JSP), N Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan respectively, met with both Amit Shah as well as JP Nadda of the BJP. Such a meeting is indicative of:

  • Naidu’s TDP party’s rising numbers against the incumbent Jagan Reddy’s YSRCP
  • The BJP’s acknowledgment of pre-electoral predictions in Andhra
  • The BJP’s comfort level with a likely partnership with the TDP as well as the JSP, both parties in united opposition to the current YSRCP government
  • Reddy’s poor performance in the 2019-24 term leading to large-scale defections from his party and the people’s disapproval of his policies, leading to dismal pre-poll ratings for his YSRCP 
  • The central government’s understanding of the AP public’s discomfort and distrust of Reddy’s poor administration, higher-than-average levels of corruption, and his Law and Order record, making the public seriously concerned with the consequences of mafia-style rowdy elements in society
  • The BJP’s admission of the information shared by top Election Commission officials on the large-scale voter-id tampering by Jagan Reddy’s party, which in the past five years, appears to have impacted all parties in the state including the BJP

Reimagining Women’s Liberation

First and foremost, much of the discourse surrounding women’s liberation stems from Western ideologies, particularly among individuals educated in the West, where historical oppression of women was prevalent. For instance, Switzerland granted voting rights to women only in the 1960s.

Many modern proponents of women’s liberation often come from non-traditional family backgrounds, such as dysfunctional or single-parent households. Some espouse beliefs that view family obligations, children, and marriage as burdensome or oppressive.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Western television played a significant role in shaping societal norms, portraying the “ideal” family as comprising a father, mother, two children, and perhaps a pet, perpetuating the notion of the “happy family” archetype. This ideal often excluded extended family members, such as in-laws or relatives.

This portrayal served the interests of big business, as smaller families meant increased consumption of household goods. Thus, the promotion of nuclear families over joint families became advantageous for economic reasons.

Certain feminist movements even associated menstruation with impurity, a stark contrast to cultural practices in regions like South India, where a woman’s coming-of-age is celebrated as a grand occasion, second only to her wedding. Traditionally, during menstruation, women were given a break from household chores and pampered by other women, acknowledging the importance of rest and rejuvenation.

Unfortunately, some activists perpetuated the belief that only paid employment constitutes legitimate work, thereby diminishing the value of homemaking and caregiving roles. This coincided with the introduction of sanitary napkins in the Indian market, transforming a natural process into a commercial opportunity while perpetuating notions of female impurity and oppression.

As a result, women found themselves juggling multiple responsibilities, including work outside the home, domestic duties, and managing biological stress, all under the guise of modernity and empowerment.

It is essential for all women, regardless of their employment status, to have dedicated rest periods, akin to maternal leave, to prioritize their physical and emotional well-being.

Furthermore, there has been a push towards promoting alternative family structures, such as single-parent households, labeled as “proton families,” influenced by Western ideals and economic interests.

Hindu mythology celebrates powerful goddesses such as Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Kali, embodying strength, wisdom, and transformative energy. By drawing inspiration from these divine feminine figures, women can find empowerment within their cultural and spiritual roots

The Creators From Southern Part Of India Felicitated By The Modi Govt At The Inaugural Content Creators Awards Ceremony

In a ceremony hosted at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi conferred the inaugural National Creators Award upon content creators nationwide. The event provided an opportunity for the Prime Minister to engage briefly with the awardees, emphasizing the influential role of creativity in fostering positive societal change.

Conceived as a driving force for channeling creativity into constructive transformations, the National Creator Award has witnessed remarkable public engagement. In its initial phase, the award attracted over 1.5 lakh nominations, encompassing 20 diverse categories. The subsequent voting phase saw significant participation, with approximately 10 lakh votes cast for digital creators across a spectrum of award categories.

The outcome of this extensive engagement resulted in the recognition of 23 winners, including three international creators, symbolizing a collective celebration of creativity and innovation.

Of the 23 winners, 3 of them are from Southern part of India. They are YouTuber couple Abhi and Niyu from Karnataka, YouTuber Keerthika Govindhasamy from Tamil Nadu, and stand-up comic Shraddha from Karnataka. 

Recipients of the New India Campaign Award were YouTuber couple Abhiraj Rajadhyaksha and Niyati Mavinkurve. 

Inquiring about their approach to maintaining audience engagement while presenting factual information, the Prime Minister sought insights from the winners. They expressed that, much like the Prime Minister’s dynamic presentation style, presenting facts with enthusiasm resonates well with the audience. The Prime Minister commended them for venturing into a challenging yet highly significant field.

Keerthika who runs the YouTube channel Keerthi History was awarded in the Best Storyteller category. 

As a symbol of respect, she touched the Prime Minister’s feet, prompting a gracious response – PM Modi also made a similar gesture. He said, “See, in politics, people fall at others feet. In the world of art, falling at someone’s feet has a different meaning. But I get disturbed a lot. Especially, if it is a daughter.”

The Prime Minister encouraged her to speak in her preferred language, acknowledging the diverse linguistic landscape of the country. Keerthika shared insights into the interconnected nature of history and politics, highlighting occasional social media backlash. Responding to the Prime Minister’s inquiry, she noted a growing interest among today’s teenage audience in learning about the greatness of India.

Shraddha, a standup comic under the label Aiyyo Shraddha, won the Best Creative Creator Female category.

Shraddha, renowned for her multilingual comedy sets and the creator of engaging, relatable content spanning generations, received the Best Creative Creator – Female award. Welcoming her with her trademark ‘Aiyyo,’ the Prime Minister noted that this was their second meeting. In her remarks, Shraddha expressed that the award is a tribute to those creating content from their homes and highlighted her strategy of infusing light humor into serious themes. She also commended the Prime Minister for his spontaneous and engaging interactions with content creators.
