The Cockroach Party has positioned itself as a youth-led political movement speaking for India’s Gen Z. But allegations circulating about its leadership raise questions over how “new” and politically independent the organisation actually is.
At the centre of the allegations is Cockroach Party leader and spokesperson Vaishnavi Gaur, whose past political associations and online activity have come under scrutiny.
Vaishnavi Gaur’s AAP Links
Vaishnavi Gaur has been associated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since 2019.
Her association with AAP is significant because CJP has projected itself as a new political platform built around young Indians and their concerns, particularly education.
Additionally, Gaur has since removed a substantial portion of her earlier digital footprint, including material that could establish her past political associations.
Her connection with Cockroach party founder Abhijeet Dipke has also been questioned.
Dipke is said to have known Gaur since at least 2021, raising questions over how she was subsequently presented to the public as a CJP spokesperson without her alleged political background being prominently disclosed.
Suspended Account And Anti-Hindu Posts
Let us now look at Gaur’s online activity to an earlier account.
In 2020, her account was reportedly suspended, following which she allegedly created another account under the username @AustenJane023.
Posts attributed to that account allegedly contained anti-Hindu and anti-Brahmin commentary.
Gaur later became active under the username @Vaishnavii_gaur.
That account, too, has reportedly been wiped of its earlier content, and that she has removed her digital footprint from X and other social media platforms.
The disappearance of older content has consequently raised questions about what the CJP leadership wants its young followers to see—and what it does not.
Why Hide The Past?
Despite being active until recently under her current username, @Vaishnavii_gaur, the spokesperson has now deleted all data from X and has cleared her presence from other social media handles.
This sudden and complete erasure seems to be a desperate measure to sever any links to her previous digital identity and her relationship with Abhijeet Dipke, specifically to avoid being exposed while attempting to influence the youth vote in India.
Instead, young Indians may be encountering a carefully curated version of the organisation and its leaders.
The issue therefore goes beyond one individual.
How ‘New’ Is CJP?
The revelation has prompted a direct challenge to Abhijeet Dipke and the CJP leadership. These cockroaches must answer India’s Gen Z population as to why their emotions and political aspirations have been manipulated.
The movement has been built on a foundation of secrecy and misrepresentation rather than genuine youth empowerment.
