TVK School Education Minister Rajmohan has heaped praise on the woke poison film Dorothy directed by woke Dravidianist director Karthik Subbaraj. He described it as a film that profoundly influenced his thinking and calling it a “profound lesson that resonates deeply with our thoughts.”
Rajmohan, who said he had been invited to watch the film by Subbaraj, described his experience after watching Dorothy in glowing terms, praising its characters, visuals, writing, performances, cinematography, editing, sound mixing and music.
In a video reviewing the woke film, Rajmohan said, “Greetings to everyone. I had the opportunity to watch the film Dorothy. They say a truly good movie begins only after it ends; similarly, after watching this film, I was left with a mix of shock, surprise, and a profound shift in my thinking. We often say that every movie is an experience, and this one offered a unique, intense experience. Regarding the characters, the visuals, and the writing, when director Karthik Subbaraj (a friend of mine) invited me, I came expecting another Jigarthanda. However, staying true to those roots, he has told a story and addressed a subject that no one else dared to touch, capturing the essence of the “sons of the soil” amidst the dusty winds of this arid region. As for the film itself, from the very first frame to the last, there isn’t a single unnecessary shot or superfluous moment. It is entirely like a banana tree, where no part goes to waste; from the roots to the tip, the leaves, the raw fruit, and the ripe fruit – everything serves a purpose. Similarly, every scene, line of writing, screenplay element, and character possesses immense strength and the power to deeply influence our thoughts and perceptions. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the cast: Rishi, Sananth, Keerthy Suresh, and Soundararaja, for their extraordinary performances. The cinematography, editing, and sound mixing have been executed beautifully. And, of course, there is the music by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, the very soul of the film. Karthik Subbaraj, the ‘captain of the ship,’ has delivered a magnificent creation that Tamil cinema can be proud of, one that steers the industry toward new heights and fresh directions. In my view, Dorothy is not merely a film; it is a profound lesson that resonates deeply with our thoughts.”
