Senthilbalaji Surgery: Conflict Of Interest Alleged As ESI Director Is None Other Than Stalin’s Brother-In-Law

A startling fact has come to light that has raised eyebrows about the team of doctors responsible for assessing the health condition of the former Liquor Minister in the DMK government.

DMK Minister Senthilbalaji who has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering in the Transport Department cash-for-job case was admitted to the Omandurar Government Hospital after he complained of “chest pain” on getting arrested.

Following orders from the Madras High Court, the DMK Minister was later admitted to Kauvery Hospital, Chennai  based on a medical report furnished by a medical team from Omandurar Hospital and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital. He is set to undergo a bypass surgery on 21 June 2023 at the Kauvery Hospital, a private hospital whose management is said to have close ties with the DMK.

However, the DMK has denied any bias into the medical examination of Senthilbalaji saying that doctors who examined him include those from ESIC which comes under Central Government.

The doctors, allegedly affiliated with the Central Government’s ESI (Employees’ State Insurance) Hospital, are facing accusations of bias and political influence with the revelation that the director of ESI Hospital, Dr. Jaya Rajamurthy, happens to be the brother of Durga Stalin, who is none other than the wife of Chief Minister, MK Stalin.

The above poster is of an event titled Dravida Seminar on the occasion of the first anniversary of Dravida Samooga Peravai, a Dravidian Stock outfit. In the above seminar, MK Stalin’s brother-in-law Jaya Rajamoorthy is one of the speakers sharing stage with DMK Minister SS Sivasankar,  Dravidian and anti-Hindu ideologue Suba Veerapandian, and Tamil Nadu Planning Commission Vice Chairperson J. Jayaranjan.

The controversy surrounding Senthil Balaji’s health evaluation centers around the refusal of both AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) and JIPMER for his treatment by the DMK.

It is alleged that the DMK citing ESI medical examination is a façade as political influence from Jaya Rajamoorthy cannot be ruled out.

Concerns have been raised about the potential influence and motives that may affect the objectivity of the doctors’ report on Senthil Balaji’s health condition.

The ED too has accused Senthil Balaji of feigning illness to avoid interrogation.

It is noteworthy that Senthil Balaji, a minister in the Tamil Nadu government has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate with regard to his cash-for-jobs scam when he was the Transport Minister in the ADMK regime in 2011-2016 and additional money laundering charges.
Upon his arrest, he started showing symptoms of chest pain and was taken to Omandurar Government Hospital in Chennai. Subsequently, the doctors conducted an angiogram and detected 3 blocks in his arteries and suggested that he undergo bypass surgery on an urgent basis.
