Hindu organisation in Canada puts up billboards thanking Modi for sending vaccines

Billboards thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing coronavirus vaccines have come up in the Greater Toronto area in Canada. The billboards were reportedly put up by the Hindu Forum, Canada.

The billboard read, “Thank You India and PM Narendra Modi for providing COVID vaccines to Canada. Long Live Canada-India Friendship”, reports LiveMint.

India dispatched the first batch of around five lakh doses of Covishield vaccine from the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) to Canada. India, under the Vaccine Maitri initiative, has also earned a lot of diplomatic goodwill for supplying the COVID-19 vaccines to countries around the globe.

Earlier, the Canadian government was caught in a bind after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau waded into the whole farmers’ protest. It was revealed that the pro-Khalistani Sikh diaspora in Canada were intimately involved in the protests. The Canadian government regularly gives a platform to the Khalistani elements in Canada to publicise their views.

In February, Trudeau had called Modi with a request for vaccines and had then said, “it would be significant because of India’s tremendous pharmaceutical capacity, and PM Modi’s leadership in sharing this capacity with the world”.

In the last few years, Indian origin and Hindu religious groups in many foreign countries have formed associations and are playing a crucial role in conducting public outreach programmes in favour of India.

This billboard could not have come at a better time when a lot of anti-India machinations are being fomented by the Liberal-Left in the West. In 2020, a billboard with an image of Lord Ram along with the Ram Mandir was beamed on New York’s iconic Times Square as part of the Bhoomi Pujan celebrations.
