Hindu Munnani to distribute Bhagavad Gita in front of Churches on Christmas to counter proselytization by missionaries

After a Christian Missionary group attempted to convert Hindus by giving them Bible in front of a school and a bus stop, the Hindu Munnani has decided to distribute the Bhagavad Gita in front of a Church in Udhagamandalam, Nilgiris.

On December 24, Bible was distributed to the Hindu students of Udhagai Gel Memorial school with the help of the school’s headmaster, in the name of Christmas celebrations. Another accusation said that on the very same day, another Christian Missionary distributed the Bible to Hindus and public waiting at the Conoor Bus Stop in Nilgiris, in an attempt to convert them. Hindu Munnani rushed to the spot on knowing about this incident, and successfully intervened to stop the proselytization attempt. The incident was reported to the local Police Station as well.

In response to this, the Hindu Munnani has decided to distribute the Bhagavad Gita in front of a Church in the area, on Christmas. A statement released by the organisation related to this decision said, “The Bible has been distributed in front of schools, bus stands and many other places in the area, on the occasion of Christmas, in an attempt to convert the public. No action has been taken against such missionary groups, even after lodging a complaint. Hindu Munnani has decided to distribute the Bhagavad Gita in front of Churches on Christmas.”
