Hindu Munnani Condemns BJP Leader Paul Kanagaraj For His Statement In Support Of PFI Functionaries

Hindu Munnani has condemned a member of its ally, Paul Kangaraj, state president of the BJP legal wing, for protesting in support of two advocates who are accused of having ties with PFI and have been arrested by the NIA.

In a press release issued on 21 May 2023, state president of Hindu Munnani Kadeshwara Subramanium stated, “Officials from the National Intelligence Agency arrested two lawyers in Madurai who were the state in-charges of the Popular Front of India, an organization involved in a conspiracy to convert India into an Islamic country by 2047 and eliminate Hindu leaders who stood in their way. However, a group of lawyers in Madras High Court has been protesting in front of the court gate, claiming that NIA falsely implicated both lawyers, Mohammad Yusuf and Mohammad Abbas, in the case for appearing in support of Islamic convicts.”

The statement read, “Both Mohammad Yusuf and Mohammad Abbas were state officials of the Popular Front of India. They were arrested by officials from the National Intelligence Agency as they were involved in the conspiracies of the banned organization. In this situation, advocate Paul Kanagaraj, the BJP’s state vice-president of legal wing, not only took part in the protest, but also told journalists in an interview that the two lawyers were arrested due to personal vendetta by National Intelligence Agency officers for appearing in court in support of Islamic criminals.”

The statement further added, “While these two lawyers have been arrested on suspicion of being part of the Popular Front of India (PFI) conspiracy to declare India an Islamic country in 2047, BJP leader Paul Kanagaraj’s statement poses a threat to India’s security and sovereignty.  Hindu Munnani strongly condemns the statement of BJP Tamil Nadu State Vice President Paul Kanagaraj, who gave a press interview in support of state officials of the Popular Front of India who were engaged in conspiracy to attack India.”

On May 9th, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested five people and searched six locations in Tamil Nadu in connection with a case involving the illegal activities of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). The raids took place in the districts of Chennai, Madurai, Dindigul, and Theni. The accused arrested on Tuesday were identified as Abdul Razzak (47) of Chennai, advocate Mohamed Yusuf (35) and advocate M Mohamed Abbas (45) of Madurai, Kyzer A (45) of Dindigul, and Sathik Ali (39) of Theni.

“Investigations had revealed that the accused had conspired and planned to eliminate their ‘perceived enemies’ who were not aligned to the PFI ideology and were opposed to its plans to establish an Islamic state in India by 2047,” the NIA said.
