On Friday, the Indian Army retaliated to Pakistan’s ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir’s Rajouri Sector. In the intense cross fire, Havildar Mathiazhagan from Tamil Nadu was injured.
He was rushed to the army hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Friday as the treatment failed to yield results.
Mathiazhagan, belonging to the 17th Madras Regiment was a Havildar from Vethilaikarankadu village in Edappadi block of Salem district. He joined the Army on 15 January 1999.
