On the one hand, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and head of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, MK Stalin peddles “rationality” and atheist beliefs of the Dravidian ideology while on the other the son and Youth Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin calls for eradicating Sanathana Dharma.

Amidst this is Durga Stalin (MK Stalin’s wife and Udhayanidhi’s mother), who goes temple hopping now and then.

On 13 October 2023, she visited the Tirupati Tirumala temple and offered Abhisheka seva, had darshan of the deity, and received prasadam from the Devasathanam officials.

Durga Stalin was also in the news recently for her donation of a golden crown for the deity at Guruvayurappan temple along with other donations to the temple.

Recently, Tamil Nadu’s Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Minister, Sekar Babu, celebrated his Sashtiabdapoorti at Thirukadayur, performing various pujas and yagyas alongside his wife. It happened amidst Vedic chants and other special poojas.

Sabareesan – Son-in-law Of MK Stalin

In August 2022, Sabareesan, the son-in-law of Chief Minister MK Stalin, garnered attention for orchestrating a distinctive Yagam at the Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy Temple. This sacred ceremony, referred to as the Kshatru Samhara Yagam, is specifically designed to overcome adversaries.

Sabareesan’s active engagement with temple events extends to his participation in religious festivals, often in the company of his wife, Senthamarai Stalin, who is the daughter of the Chief Minister, and his mother-in-law, Durga Stalin, the wife of MK Stalin.

Ironically, the same Udhyananidhi who claimed he was Christian and then atheist was seen smearing vibhuti on his forehead in an undated video that was making the rounds on social media.

 

The duplicity of the Dravidian ideologues in professing atheist principles to the public while following the religion and visiting temples as per their wishes needs to be called out.
