Dr. Krishnaswamy’s Puthiya Tamilagam to organise World Hindu Awareness Meet

Dr. K Krishnaswamy’s Puthiya Tamilagam party is all set to organise a ‘World Hindu Awareness and Co-ordination’ conference in Senkottai, Tenkasi district, on its 25th founding day, December 15. As quoted by The Hindu, Dr. Krishnaswamy said, “As a precursor to this conference, we organised a protest against attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus on October 28 in Chennai.”

Talking about the movie ‘Jai Bhim’, he said, “Jai Bhim is a slogan for social liberation. It is not a film title for commercial purposes. Indian government should have banned the film.” He said that the film evokes caste, religion and language animosity also questioned the purpose of the censor board.

He criticised the Tamil film industry for making profits by appropriating struggles of political movements by mentioning that nobody comes to support them when they carry out protests facing several obstacles and encountering numerous problems. He also called out Dhanush’s Karnan saying that even that movie did not mention who carried out the Kodiyankulam issue.

Talking about the ₹25,000/hectare given as financial relief for farmer by the state government, the party leader said that it was not enough and that they can come out of losses only if they’re given ₹1.25 Lakh/hectare. “Pongal gift of ₹5,000 each should be given to agricultural labourers. For other families, ₹2,500 must be given,” he added.
