With the ascension of DMK to power, incidents of atrocities being committed by the party’s cadres are being reported across Tamil Nadu.
In this light, a hotel belonging to an AIADMK cadre in Nilakottai was attacked and demolished by DMK cadres.
Maayi, an AIADMK office bearer, runs a small eatery near the Nilakottai bus stand. A few DMK men had come to the hotel to eat during which they had engaged in a verbal spat with Maayi. Those at the shop tried to pacify both the groups. Later that night, the DMK men had rampaged Maayi’s hotel by razing down the roofs made of asbestos sheet. They had broken the furnitures and other properties at the hotel damaging them completely.
Maayi along with his men later lodged a complaint at the police station and laid siege in order to bring attention to his plight.
This is one of the many incidents that has been reported following the DMK’s win. Earlier, an ‘Amma Unavagam’ located in J.J Nagar near Maduravoyal, Chennai was attacked by DMK goons. An ‘Amma Mini Clinic‘ located in Avarikadu panchayat near Vedaranyam in Nagapattinam district was attacked by ‘mysterious persons’. On May 2 immediately after the DMK’s victory was confirmed, DMK cadres in Karur ransacked a shop belonging to an AIADMK cadre causing extensive damage to the property along with a person getting injured seriously.
