A recent video of a group of DMK goons threatening an aged man in Choolaimedu in Chennai has caused a stir amongst those on social media.
In the video, the goons are seen demanding ₹5000 from the old man. When he refuses, they are found threatening him saying that they had to be paid a fine since this man had allegedly been ‘canvassing against the DMK in his area and has been asking people not to vote for their party’s symbol.’
The old man is seen retorting saying that any party that acts against the Hindus are not worthy of their support. Hearing this, the goons are observed to attempt to physically harm the old man. This progressed into a heated brawl between the two entities. The public of the locality rushed to the spot and split them up.
One of the members in the public was observed to be trying to call the police. The police had arrived at the spot soon after. It is expected that an FIR will be filed shortly against these goons. Many on social media said that this is a glimpse into the kind of environment that will prevail in the state if the DMK comes to power.
