House Of Actor Vijay Who Opposes CAA Has A Huge Gate That Prevents Public From Looking At His House

Upon the announcement of implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 by the central government on 11 March 2024, immediate turmoil ensued in Tamil Nadu, particularly from the Dravidian parties. This response was not unprecedented, but the situation took a new turn when actor Vijay, a recent entrant into politics who revealed his party’s name just last week, joined the fray.

Vijay faced significant criticism as there is a recurring pattern in Tamil Nadu politics where newly launched parties, despite declaring a “My Way Is New Alternative” akin to Rajinikanth’s famous dialogue, often align themselves closely with the established mother-ship Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This trend was exemplified recently when Kamal Haasan, the leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party, made a notable U-turn by forming an alliance with the DMK.

An old video of a devoted fan of Vijay visiting the residence of the actor on Casuarina Drive Street, ECR Neelankarai, Chennai went viral on social media platform X.  In a heartfelt display of admiration, the fan reverently approached the imposing door like gate. Kneeling down and prostrating, he expressed his devotion while acknowledging the presence of a CCTV camera. With deep affection, he conveyed his love for the actor, once again kneeling down in a manner reminiscent of worship in a church. The fan folded his hands in reverence towards the CCTV camera and concluded this unique homage by tenderly flying kiss to the camera.

The online community is questioning Vijay, the actor-turned-politician, who has strategically installed a an imposing gate at his residence to restrict access and maintain privacy. However, it seems he may not be aware that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) explicitly states that entry into India requires permission.

Here are some videos of the gate at Vijay’s house. Fans are seen taking pictures in front of the imposing gate.

This video shows Vijay’s home as well from outside – when the gate opened to allow Vijay who came in his BMW X4 to enter.

In this video, the YouTuber states that if one wants to have a look at Vijay’s house, they can only see the imposing gate and the compound wall.

This observation arises as Vijay, through his official party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam’s X handle, shared a statement. “Any law like the Indian Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 (CAA) is not acceptable in an environment where all the people of the country are living in social harmony. The rulers should give an assurance that they will not implement this law in Tamil Nadu.”

Critics argue that Vijay who has decided to enter public life is keeping his fans and followers at bay. They wonder if he will be an inaccessible politician for the masses.

Here’s another instance where netizens connected and questioned Vijay’s stand on the CAA. Back in 2021, Vijay filed a petition challenging entry tax on his 2012 Rolls Royce Ghost. The petition was dismissed by the Madras High Court. The court ruled that Vijay, a renowned actor, should promptly pay the tax and imposed a ₹1 lakh fine. Despite reportedly paying the import duty, he faced registration issues due to unpaid entry tax. The court highlighted the extraordinary tax avoidance, emphasizing that, as a public figure, Vijay should comprehend the significance of adhering to tax regulations.

Netizens wondered if he was aware of the implications of the CAA on persecuted minorities of the 3 neighbouring nations. It is noteworthy that his short press release indicated his lack of awareness on the subject.

The recent surge in trolling directed at actor Vijay has placed his fans, particularly the younger generation who understand the situation, in a challenging position. Despite their efforts to support him, they find it difficult to do so, given the statements made by their leader. The politician, expected to have open communication with the public, is now being mocked for having such a huge gate. Meanwhile, amidst ongoing drug busts, the aspiring leader remains conspicuously silent with no official statements released. The question circulating on social media is whether TVK is becoming another MNM.

“Discrimination Is Lifeline Of Sanatana Dharma, RCI & CSI Can Have Discrimination Because They Are Institutions”, Says VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalavan

Despite severe criticism from the Madras High Court and condemnation from the Supreme Court regarding hate speech against Hindus by politicians in Tamil Nadu, the term “Sanatana Dharma” continues to be prominently used. In a recent controversy, Thirumavalavan, the Member of Parliament from Chidambaram and leader of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), delivered a speech that has gone viral. In the speech, he asserts that Sanatana Dharma is the only religion in the world that rejects brotherhood, claims discrimination is integral part to it, and endorses that Roman Catholic or CSI institutions can practice discrimination.

Regardless of the subject, the VCK party leader possesses a unique ability to link everything to Sanatana Dharma. On International Women’s Day (8 March 2024), a special symposium took place at Chennai Ambedkar Thital, with Thirumavalavan as the chief guest discussing “Revolutionary Ambedkar and Women’s Rights.”

During his keynote address, Thirumavalavan emphasized that Ambedkar was not just a leader for Dalits but a champion for equality, with his ultimate goal being human equality. Highlighting the significance of gender equality in the broader context of human equality, Ambedkar focused on empowering women. Thirumavalavan recounted Ambedkar’s attempt to introduce the Hindu Code Bill, which faced opposition from traditional forces, leading to Ambedkar’s resignation and his direct accusations against Jawaharlal Nehru. Ambedkar cited three reasons for his resignation: the rejection of his proposal to create a commission for OBC welfare and the failure to identifying underrepresented groups within OBC, the non-discussion of the Hindu Code Bill and Declined membership in the planning commission. Ultimately, Ambedkar resigned due to the government’s apparent neglect of these crucial issues. The Hindu Code Bill marked Dr. Ambedkar’s initial effort to promote gender equality for women.

During his speech, Thirumavalavan strongly encouraged women to actively engage in debates and advocate for themselves, highlighting the importance of women’s involvement in political roles.

Later, he asserted that discrimination against women is a widespread global phenomenon, not confined to India or the Hindu community. He emphasized that the structure of such discrimination varies based on a country’s traditional history, evolving over time. Ideology plays a pivotal role, influencing nations, religions, societies, and transforming into institutions, which, in turn, become intertwined with religion.

Continuing, he likened religion and the state to inseparable children, underscoring the influential nature of religious institutions. However, his narrative took a turn as he began promoting Christianity while denigrating Hindu ideology. He argued that the fundamental philosophy of every religion worldwide is centered on humanity and fraternity, with love and affection being universal principles. He contended that where there is love, discrimination fades, and brotherhood thrives in the absence of barriers. Despite acknowledging these principles, he blamed religious institutions for perpetuating discrimination.

Furthermore, he propagated a claim that rituals were not inherent to religion but were constructed by institutions. Supporting this assertion, he cited Buddhism, stating that Buddhism lacks principles requiring structures like vihars and priests, which he argued were institutional creations. However, this statement was inaccurate.

Subsequently, he directed criticism towards Hinduism. He said, “Take Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, or any other religion, the core fundamental philosophy of it would be fraternity i.e brotherhood. There is one religion in the world that denies brotherhood completely, they are asking do you know what is Sanatana Dharma?  Sanatana Dharma is a dharma that says there should not be brotherhood, they say that we have understood it wrongly. Today a women judge in High Court has said that Sanatana Dharma is different from rituals, yes that’s correct, as we say, rituals and principles are different, but this Sanatana Dharma’s particular principle defines hierarchy based on birth and no one can deny it.”

“The word Sanatana means permanent, that’s different, means unchanging, it is anti-physical, anti-scientific. Nothing is fixed, everything is changing, this is the law of physics, this is the dialectic rule, that is the paradox but they are… In Sanatana Dharma discrimination is its core, discrimination is the lifeline of Sanatana Dharma in no other religion discrimination will be the basic factor, No one talks about this. They ask why I did not criticize Christianity or Islam, without criticizing them why singling out us, that is because the discrimination is here only. I’m saying that in core principles, RC (Roman Catholic) can have discrimination, it’s an institution. CSI (Church Of South India) can have discrimination, it’s an institution, but there is no discrimination in Christianity that is the difference between the two,” he said.

Then he finally concluded saying that the principles of democracy, emphasizing that equal access to resources, including power, is essential. This doesn’t imply everyone becoming a Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or minister but rather emphasizes living independently. Therefore, the advocacy is for education and employment, with the explanation that Anti-Sanatana supports decentralization of democracy, ensuring equal standing for both men and women.

‘Actor Vijay’ Goes The Dravidian Stock Way, Opposes CAA That Gives Dignity To Persecuted Non-Muslims Of Pak, Afghanistan And Bangladesh

The Modi government, led by the NDA, declared the initiation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) preceding the imminent Lok Sabha elections. This choice to put into effect the regulations of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act occurred before the activation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

In a statement on X, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) declared, “Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be notifying today, the Rules under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA-2019). These rules, called the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024 will enable the persons eligible under CAA-2019 to apply for grant of Indian citizenship. The applications will be submitted in a completely online mode for which a web portal has been provided.

As expected, the Dravidian parties expressed opposition to the notification of CAA. However, what caught everyone’s attention was Actor Vijay coming out with a statement on his party – Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam’s X handle opposing the CAA.

The press release read, “Any law like the Indian Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 (CAA) is not acceptable in an environment where all the people of the country are living in social harmony. The rulers should give an assurance that they will not implement this law in Tamil Nadu.”

To date, it was unclear what path actor Vijay’s party would take with respect to doing politics. This was especially after learning of his party’s name which did not have the word “Dravidam” in it. Many expected him to offer a really good alternative to the existing Dravidian parties. But with this statement, the social media platforms erupted with anger and disappointment. Here are some netizen reactions. Some questioned if Vijay had indeed any basic knowledge of the CAA that he made such a statement.

Some others challenged Vijay to give a press meet and explain to his fans and followers about his understanding of the CAA and why it is detrimental to the “harmony” of the country.

Some compared him to MNM’s Kamal Haasan who recently made a u-turn to join hands with the DMK in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls – a party which he said he would be an alternative for.

https://twitter.com/Aryabhata99/status/1767282520536568123

It is noteworthy that CAA is under the Union list and it is the Parliament that has the power to implement it, the State has no role to play.

Several others questioned his silence on the recent drug bust and the connection with the Tamil film industry.

The CAA has nothing to do with Indians in the first place. It applies to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan where they are facing religious persecution, and those who already arrived in India before 1 December 2014.

It benefits the persecuted minorities from these countries by reducing their residency requirement from 11 to 5 years and they can claim citizenship as a right under this law. Muslims on the other hand from these countries are also not affected – they will go through the usual process of acquiring citizenship through naturalisation rules – 11 years of residency.

From Supporting CAA To Opposing Its Implementation, EPS’ ADMK Does A U-Turn To Appease Islamists

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), formerly an ally of the National Democratic Alliance, has undergone a substantial transformation, resembling them as new Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

In 2019, AIADMK’s official stance differed significantly from its current position in 2024. In that year, the official X handle of AIADMK stated, “Central Government has made it clear about Citizenship Act, Citizenship Act does not affect any religion in India – Hon’ble Edappadi K Palaniswami Interview.”

However, fast forward to 2024, Edappadi K. Palaniswami in his official social media page wrote that it “vehemently condemns” the action of the Central government saying that it is being implemented to create division among people for electoral gain. Palaniswami also added that the Central government has made a “huge mistake” through this step.

The ruling BJP government at the center has published a notification in the gazette that the CAA Act 2019 (Citizenship Amendment Act) will be implemented from today. AIADMK has been insisting that this Act should not affect any indigenous community in the country. As a result of which this law has not been enforced for the last 5 years, the CAA has been implemented for electoral gain in order to create division among the people in view of the upcoming elections. AIADMK vehemently condemns this action of the central government which has been carried out to divide the people. The central government has made a huge historical mistake by this.“, Edappadi Palaniswami said.

He further added that the “AIADMK will never allow this CAA brought in the name of Refugee Citizenship Act against former citizens Muslims and Tamil Eelam people. I would like to inform you that AIADMK will fight democratically along with the people of the country against this.

Earlier in January 2024, Palaniswami issued a statement about CAA saying “The DMK has been betraying the minorities by making a political capital of and doing drama over communal politics, while cooperate with the BJP when they are in power and opposing them when they are not in power. Having supported the NIA and UAPA laws which affects the minorities severely, people are watching the drama of the DMK, which only shows opposition to the BJP in statements and stage speeches.

ADMK’s Duplicity

The Citizenship Amendment Act enacted by the BJP-led government in 2019, facilitates citizenship for non-Muslim communities, including Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians, from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who entered India on or before 31 December 2014.

The law is a fallout of the bloody partition of India which put non-Muslim minorities in Muslim-majority neighbouring countries of India at the mercy of the Islamic state. State-sponsored and aided persecution led non-Muslim minorities in these countries to flee and come to India. Hence the law aims to heal the wounds of partition by expediting the citizenship process for those who are staying as refugees in India for decades.

Opposition parties allege that this legislation is specifically aimed at targeting Indian Muslims, potentially depriving them of their citizenship if implemented. However, the act has nothing to do with Indian Muslims. CAA does not, by itself, change any Indian citizen’s current citizenship status. It offers particular religious minorities from the aforementioned nations an alternate route to citizenship. It is noteworthy to mention that the AIADMK had back then voted in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Bill to become an Act.

Modi Govt Notifies CAA Rules On Ramzan Start Day

On 11 March 2024, with the onset of the Ramadan (Ramzan) period, the Narendra Modi government announced the commencement of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This decision to implement the rules of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was made prior to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

It’s worth noting that the CAA was a crucial element in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and was officially passed by Parliament on December 11, 2019, after the formation of the Modi government 2.0.

The contentious CAA has been a focal point of protests across India in 2019, with some parties labeling it as a divisive legislation. The government, however, has countered such claims, emphasizing that the CAA is a “law of the land” that will be enforced.

Addressing the issue, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a business summit last month, clarified that the CAA rules would be put into action before the Lok Sabha polls. He stated, “Our Muslim brothers are being misled and instigated (against the CAA). The CAA is only meant to give citizenship to those who came to India after facing persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. It is not for snatching anyone’s Indian citizenship.”

Regarding the CAA, the notification of the rules is anticipated to open pathways for migrants from neighboring countries to acquire citizenship in India. The CAA amends the Citizenship Act of 1955, providing Indian citizenship to migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Parsi, Buddhist, and Christian communities who entered India on or before December 31, 2014, due to religious persecution in their home countries. This legislation aims to assist refugees from neighboring countries who lack proper documentation.

Major Drug Bust In TN: Customs Seize Hashish & Ganja Worth ₹110 Crores, TN BJP Head Annamalai Questions If DMK Govt Is In Slumber

Customs Preventive in Trichy successfully thwarted a drug smuggling attempt on Monday, seizing 100 kilograms of hashish valued at Rs 110 crore and 876 kilograms of ganja worth ₹1.05 crore in Mimisal, Tamil Nadu’s Pudukottai district.

Acting under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and Customs Act, the authorities confiscated the illicit goods. This action follows the recent seizure of drugs worth ₹100 crore from the Rameswaram Coast in Tamil Nadu.

Responding to a tip-off, Trichy Central Intelligence Division Customs officers confiscated 400 bags of drugs concealed in a shrimp farm near Mimisal, intended for smuggling to Sri Lanka using a country boat through the Tondi Sea.

Authorities are actively pursuing Sultan from SP Pattinam, suspected to be involved in drug smuggling. Acting on details provided to the Customs Department of Trichy Central Intelligence Division, investigators examined a fish trading company and shrimp farms along the Ramanathapuram district border last night.

In the course of the searches, authorities seized 876 kg of ganja that was unlawfully stored in a shrimp farm for illicit transportation to Sri Lanka. The confiscated ganja was transported to the Ramanathapuram Customs Office for further inquiry. Preliminary investigations disclosed that the ganja bundles originated from a shrimp farm owned by Sultan of SP Pattinam. It was also discovered that a trio had orchestrated a plan to smuggle the ganja to Sri Lanka using a country boat on the ensuing Sunday night.

Responding to this newsbreak, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party President K Annamalai took to his social media X handle to criticise the DMK government. He wrote, “After the DMK came to power in Tamil Nadu, drug traffic has increased in all parts of Tamil Nadu including villages. To top it off, the shocking news of DMK executive Jaffer Sadiq, who is the leader of an international drug trafficking ring, has come out recently. Today, near Aranthangi, Pudukottai district, the news is more shocking that 100 kg of hashish and 876 kg of ganja, worth about 110 crores, were seized by the intelligence unit of the customs department.”

He pointed out, “For all these years, the DMK government was having fun without taking any action to stop the drug traffic, the reason why there is such a high level of drug traffic in Tamil Nadu. The maximum quantity of drugs seized in the tests after the arrest of DMK executive Jaffer Sadiq shows that the drug traffic in Tamil Nadu has been unstoppable.”

“Realizing that drugs are a weapon to destroy our youth and future generations, will the DMK government ever wake up from its slumber and take action against the drug traffickers or, like Jaffer Sadiq, ignore them as their own party?” he questioned.

“Our Men Are Busy In TASMAC, Their Wives & Migrant Labourers Are Working,” Says DMK Minister Tha Mo Anbarasan

DMK Minister for MSME and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitation Development Board, Tha Mo Anbarasan, has come under scrutiny after a video featuring him went viral on social media.

During an event organized by Alandur Government Higher Secondary School, the minister commented that men in Tamil Nadu were not engaged in work but rather loitering in TASMAC for liquor. He noted that wherever he looked, Hindi-speaking individuals and women were the ones working, despite the content of his speech being intended as humorous, seemed to overlook the harsh reality of citizens’ lives. Anbarasan commented, “Now women are working more than men, no men are working. Our men are heading towards TASMAC after sending their wives to work. Look, I’m not saying this for laughs… This is our family, our people, so I’m talking happily. Men don’t work, I’ve said this in many gatherings, you can check who is at the tea shop. Who is there? There is only a northerner who came through migration, even if go to Adyar Ananda Bhavan there are only Hindi speaking people. He doesn’t understand what Masala Dosa is, and we don’t understand what he is saying.

In the state of Tamil Nadu, a disheartening reality prevails as the government faces accusations of primarily relying on revenue generated from liquor sales through TASMAC.  The recent ironic remark made by a current DMK cabinet minister sheds light on this issue. Despite frequent news reports featuring incidents related to liquor-related crimes, accidents, protests, and more, the government persists in the sale of alcohol as a means to generate revenue.

In 2019, the Madras High Court expressed concern over the rising incidence of crimes influenced by alcohol consumption. The court suggested that the state government, engaged in selling liquor to its citizens, should be held accountable as an abettor of such crimes

Numerous news reports highlight incidents of individuals with alcohol addiction causing harm to their own families, such as instances where addicts are responsible for fatal incidents.

  • In February 2024, 71-year-old Kasiammal, known for her role in the Tamil movie “Kadaisi Vivasayi,” was allegedly murdered by her 52-year-old son, P Namakodi, in their house near Usilampatti. The dispute arose over money for alcohol, leading to a heated argument and the fatal assault.
  • In November 2023, in Dindigul, Eshwaran, a 43-year-old a jobless alcoholic went on a stabbing spree, killing his 70-year-old mother and an 80-year-old neighbor while injuring his 14-year-old daughter, following his wife’s denial of money for liquor.
  • In September 2021, in Madurai district, police arrested a M Ramesh 21-year-old for killing his elderly mother after she refused to provide money for his alcohol consumption.
  • In November 2021, in Aanaikuppam, a 32-year-old man, S Karthik, allegedly killed his father P Subramanian (76), for denying him money to purchase liquor.

Journalists and political commentators attribute the increasing incidence of accident-related crimes in Tamil Nadu to the widespread prevalence of alcohol in the state. In 2021, Tamil Nadu witnessed a spike in road accident fatalities, deviating from a three-year pattern, while Chennai maintained its leading position among metros in road accidents, as reported by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Interestingly, there was a significant decline in fatalities related to drunken driving, dropping from 236 in 2020 to 15 in 2021, potentially linked to pandemic-induced restrictions on alcohol sales throughout the year.

Thanjavur Natyanjali Festival Cancelled; Fact-Check Unit Claims TN Govt Not Responsible; TN BJP Head Annamalai Shows Proof That HR&CE Dept Is Responsible

The annual Thanjavur Natyanjali festival, a revered dance celebration coinciding with Shivaratri day, faced backlash and condemnation for its abrupt cancellation this year. Traditionally attracting Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, and Kathak artists worldwide, the festival pays homage to Thanjavur Peruvadaiyar and Rajaraja Cholan. Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party president K Annamalai lashed out at the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government over this and attributed the cancellation to the DMK government’s anti-Hindu stance, accusing them of unwarranted interference in temple events and practices. Annamalai, on 9 March 2023, demanded the immediate reinstatement of the festival, warning against disrespecting the proud symbol of Tamil Nadu, the Thanjavur temple.

Subsequent to this, the  Fact-Checking Unit created by the DMK government in November 2023 which came under the administrative control of Special Programme Implementation (portfolio of DMK scion and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin), tried to “fact-check” this and claimed that the TN government had nothing to do with the Natyanjali festival. They claimed that the Tamil Nadu Government had not cancelled the Natyanjali festival, it was the Archeology Department of India under the control of the Union Government that refused permission for the Natyanjali festival. ceremony.

They also wrote on their X handle that the Department of Archeology of India had refused permission to hold programmes on Shivarathri in Thanjavur Peruvudayar Temple. This, they claimed was the reason why Natyanjali, which has been held for 20 years, was not held this year.

In response to this “fact-check”, Annamalai articulated the exact reason for the festival not being held. He said, “In the Thanjavur Natyanjali festival, on the grounds that it could not control the crowd, the DMK government denied permission to the Natyanjali festival held in the temple premises for two decades, and now that its anti-Hindu attitude has become public, the DMK government is trying to escape by blaming the archeology department, which has nothing to do with this.”

He further stated, “It is a shameful act of the DMK government to refuse permission to conduct the Natyanjali ceremony in the temple complex and then write a letter to the archeology department in an urgent manner and blame it on the archeology department citing the reply letter received.

Except for the Thanjavur Palace Devasthanam, which is under the Tamil Nadu Government’s Department of Hindu Religious Charities, getting permission from the Department of Archeology for Natyanjali, private organisations do not seek permission directly from the Department of Archaeology. In temples across Tamil Nadu, private companies are working as patrons of the charity sector.”

Annamalai also pointed out that the Natyanjali programme was not a private programme but one organised by the benefactors on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government’s Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department.

He also criticised the DMK’s FCU for hiding this truth. Annamalai further furnished proof of a letter dated 14 February 2024, South Zone Cultural Centre, which comes under the Union Ministry of Culture, which clearly mentions that the Thanjavur Palace Devasthanam which comes under the DMK Government’s Department of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments is responsible for conducting Natyanjali and that no programmes are being held on their behalf in the temple on the days leading up to Natyanjali.

Annamalai stated that the DMK government had misused the Hon’ble Madras High Court judgement to support its anti-Hindu activities with the sole aim of banning the Natyanjali festival which has been going on for 20 years.

He wrote, “Does the DMK government say that the Natyanjali programme, in which dance artists from all over the world pay respect to Peruvudaiyar and Rajarajacholan, is not a programme related to temple worship? Since 2010, for the past 13 years, the Hon’ble Madras High Court has not held the Natyanjali festival as a contempt of court. Banning the Natyanjali festival, which has been held in the temple complex for two decades, is nothing but the anti-Hindu attitude of the DMK government.”

He also accused that, “A gang working as the DMK government’s media outlet is constantly spreading false news full-time. People question the need for a team to spread these lies when DMK social media is doing this as a full-time job.”

South Arcot Vanniyar Federation Resolute To Defeat VCK In 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

Against the backdrop of the imminent parliamentary elections in Tamil Nadu, the South Arcot District Local Vanniyar Federation has released a statement outlining their collective decision. After thorough consultations with local stakeholders, the Federation has strategically resolved to launch a campaign aimed at defeating the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), a party that has previously secured victories in their constituency during Lok Sabha elections. In their statement, the association highlighted the absence of tangible benefits for the Vanniyar community despite the VCK being in power for the last five years. Instead, the community has faced numerous challenges in the locality. Consequently, the Federation has formulated a strategy to ensure the defeat of the VCK in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Chidambaram and Villupuram.

Efforts are underway to tackle the social challenges encountered by the Vanniyar community by consolidating various small and medium-scale cooperatives. In anticipation of the upcoming parliamentary elections, a consultative meeting was held on 09 March 2024, bringing together representatives from the amalgamated Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Kallakurichi District Vanniyar Associations. The participants included retired government servants, members of the Women’s Council, temple priests dedicated to Vanniyar Clan deities, All Party Vanniyars, prosecutors, first-time voters, and young individuals.

The gathering centered on the difficulties encountered by the Vanniyar community in the integrated South Arcot district, specifically in constituencies like Chidambaram and Villupuram, which were secured by the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) over the past 5 years. They emphatically stated that these constituencies, now under VCK, are where the community faces the most significant challenges. Some of the adverse effects include the closure of the Melpathi Droupadi Amman temple for pujas due to VCK’s actions, the permanent closure of the temple. Additionally, over 100 villages were unable to host festivals, and numerous false cases have been initiated against Vanniyar community youths by the VCK.

In light of these challenges, the Vanniyar Federation put forth various resolutions during the meeting:

1. Assemble an expert committee consisting of knowledgeable leaders from all party Vanniyars to devise strategies and defeat the VCK in contested constituencies.
2. Establish a war room for modern campaign initiatives against VCK effectively.
3. Implement door-to-door anti-VCK campaigns through the distribution of posters and pamphlets.

The Vanniyar Federation earnestly sought the support of the community, the media, and all party members to enhance the success of these endeavors.
