Orchids Int’l School gives clean chit to teacher who allegedly forced Hindu students to pray to Allah, child asserts incident in new video

Following the viral video of a little girl from Bengaluru who had said that her teacher had forced her and other Hindu students to pray to Allah for not being able to solve a math equation, an internal audit of this incident conducted by the school has given a clean chit to the teacher while implying that the child is lying.

Earlier, Chiru Bhat, a journalist from Karnataka had shared a video in which a small girl narrates how her teacher named Sarika Rana forced them to pray to Allah with hands shaped like a bowl and wipe their face for them to understand the math problem. The teacher was apparently teaching a lesson on ‘Money’.

In an elaborate statement, Orchids The International School located at BTM Layout denied that such an incident ever occurred.

The statement released by the school categorically denied the incident ever happened and added that the action mentioned by the girl in the video was an “eye palming exercise”.

The management of the School was categorical and stated that the school’s policy was always to promote secularism. The school also said that the teacher does not practice the religion alleged to have been promoted adding that the children in the classroom confirmed that the teacher has been wrongly accused.

It has also threatened to take strong action against the alleged ‘defamatory video’ so as to ‘safeguard the reputation of the school’.

However, in a new video, the little girl affirms that the incident happened and stands by what she told in the earlier video. She also distinguishes between the said “eye palming exercise” and the Islamic prayer gesture. This video has been shared by the girl’s father Vikram Simha on his Twitter.

The father had also stated that he had spoken with the school management and their legal team during which they recorded the conversation. He mentioned that they refused to let his daughter statements be recorded. The school management had also allegedly called the father to meet with them in their office.

This is not the first time the said school is in news for the wrong reasons. In October 2014 a case of sexual assault on a 4-year-old kid was reported.

Novak Djokovic’s visa cancelled after uproar over entitlement

World number and nine-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic visa has been canceled by the Australian government because the defending champion is still not vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said Thursday (January 6), “The advice that I have literally just received before joining you is that the visa for Novak Djokovic has been canceled,” he said at a news conference.

It’s a matter for him whether he wishes to appeal that, but if a visa is canceled, somebody will have to leave the country.”

Earlier, Djokovic was allowed to participate in the tournament and was given a deferment for not being vaccinated. However, this caused a huge controversy when 17-year-old Indian tennis player Aman Dahiya was denied entry to the Junior Australian Open because he was not vaccinated.

In the case of Dahiya the decision not to get vaccinated was not a choice but he was underage. The Indian government as of January 3. 2022, started vaccinating children aged between 17 and 18.

“I threw away Vibuthi and also placed a fire cracker below a Ganesha idol”: DMK MP A Raja says

A video of former Union Minister and Nilgiris DMK MP Andimuthu Raja has stirred a controversy where he says, “I threw away all holy ashes (Vibuthi) and I also placed a elephant cracker below Ganesha’s statue, and it exploded,”.

DMK’s Hindu hatred is not new. They never greet for Hindu festivals, they preach and spread messages against Hindus from one stage to another, they respect and honour anybody who speaks against Hinduism, and they consider smearing Vibuthi and Kumkum on the forehead as a disgusting practice.

Aanimuthu, belonging to the Periyar Organisation, passed away recently. Speaking at his film opening ceremony, DMK’s A Raja said, “Geographically, I and Aanaimuthu belong to the same district, I studied in the Periyar Kudil conducted by Aanaimuthu in 1973 when I was doing my 6th grade. At that point, when I used to step out, my mother would ask me to smear Muruga’s Vibuthi and I would smear it. Then I listened to Periyar’s final speech and continued reading all of his books. After that, I threw away the Vibuthi. Not only that, I also placed a elephant cracker below your Ganesha idol and it exploded. That was a time in my life. The reason behind this change in me is Periyar’s final speech.”

This is not the first time DMK MP A Raja who is also the Deputy General Secretary of the party has made comments disrespecting Hindu identities and the Hindu faith. There have been multiple instances where he has abused Hindus and Hindu Gods.

Mossad bombed German & Swiss companies that aided Pakistan in its nuclear weapons program

Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ), a leading Swiss daily has reported that Israel’s Mossad is suspected of having bombed and issued threats to German and Swiss companies that “energetically worked” to aid Pakistan in its quest to develop its nuclear weapons program in the 1980s.

In 1981, Israel had launched a daring air attack on the Osirak nuclear reactor about 10 miles (16 km) outside Baghdad in Iraq and it also viewed Islamabad acquiring nuclear capabilities as an “existential threat”.

The Jerusalem Post quoted a prominent Swiss daily report that “the suspicion that Mossad carried out the attacks and issued threats soon arose” after the three bombings in 1981 on three of these companies following an unsuccessful intervention by the United States to stop the activities”.

“For Israel, the prospect that Pakistan, for the first time, could become an Islamic State with an atomic bomb posed an existential threat,” Swiss daily Neue Zurcher Zeitung (NZZ) reported on Sunday.

Pakistan on May 28, 1998, conducted five simultaneous underground nuclear tests at Ras Koh Hills in Chagai district of Baluchistan province. Codenamed Chagai-I. A second nuclear test, Chagai-II, followed on May 30 in the same year and Pakistan declared itself an Islamic Nuclear Powered State.

Pakistan was also involved in nuclear proliferation throughout the 1980s and it also helped the Islamic Republic of Iran develop nuclear weapons devices in which German and Swiss companies provided technical aid for their nuclear program.

The report which is now in the public domain claims, “New, previously unknown, documents from archives in Bern and Washington sharpen this picture,”.

NZZ report also mentions the role of disgraced Pakistani nuclear scientist, the late Abdul Qadeer Khan, who with the help of the Pakistan Army traveled over Western Europe during the 1980s to secure technology and blueprints from Western institutions and companies to develop a nuclear bomb.

During this time, the US was closely involved in Afghanistan fighting the Soviet Union and did not make an effort to stop Pakistan’s “fast-moving efforts” to jumpstart its nuclear weapons program. However, it did try to convince German and Swiss governments to crack down on the aiding companies but was unsuccessful.

Suspected Mossad agents are then said to have “taken action” against the companies and the engineers involved in aiding Pakistan.

“A few months after the unsuccessful intervention of the American state department in Bonn and Bern, unknown perpetrators carried out explosive attacks on three of these companies – on February 20, 1981 on the house of a leading employee of Cora Engineering Chur; on May 18, 1981 on the factory building of the Walischmiller company in Markdorf and on November 6, 1981, on the engineering office of Heinz Mebus in Erlangen,” NZZ reported.

“The attack that we carried out against the Walischmiller company could happen to you too – this is how the Leybold-Heraeus administration office was intimidated.

“Siegfried Schertler, the owner of VAT at the time and his head salesman Tinner were called several times on their private lines. Schertler also reported to the Swiss Federal Police that the Israeli secret service had contacted him. This emerges from the investigation files, which the NZZ was able to see for the first time,” the report said.

“Many of these suppliers, mainly from Germany and Switzerland, soon entered into business worth millions with Pakistan: Leybold-Heraeus, Walischmiller, Cora Engineering Chur, Vakuum-Apparate-Technik (VAT, with the chief buyer Friedrich Tinner) or the Buchs metal works, to name a few.

“They benefited from an important circumstance: the German and Swiss authorities interpreted their dual-use provisions very generously: Most of the components that are required for uranium enrichment, for example, high-precision vacuum valves, are primarily used for civil purposes,” NZZ reported.

The National Security Archive in Washington has also recently published diplomatic correspondence from the US State Department from Bonn and Bern in 1980 bringing new information out which has now shed more light on how the West allowed Pakistan to acquire nuclear technology.

The report also indicated that Bern’s behavior, the erstwhile capital of West Germany as a “hands-off approach” and the local authorities were accused of “turning a blind eye” in these communications.

“In the now released dispatches, which were previously classified as secret, those companies are listed for the first time that the US has accused of supporting the Pakistani nuclear weapons program with their deliveries. The list included around half a dozen companies each from Germany and Switzerland,” the Swiss daily is said to have reported.

PM Modi cancels rally after security breach in Congress-ruled Punjab, CM Channi denies lapse

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was all set to travel from Bathinda to the War memorial in Husseinwala in Punjab, by Helicopter in the morning today. Due to unforeseen weather conditions, the plan to travel by Helicopter was changed to travel by road.

When the PM’s convoy reached a flyover, a protesting group of people reached the flyover and blocked his path. In this hustle bustle, the PM’s convoy waited on the flyover for almost 20 minutes.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said, “The Punjab government was informed that the PM is going to travel plans are changed. But, it doesn’t look like any arrangement have been made for the security of the PM. The Punjab government has to submit a detailed report with regard to this major security lapse.”

With regard to this case, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi denied any security lapse. He said at a Press Conference, “I express regret that PM Modi had to return during his visit to Ferozepur district today due to obstacles on route. We respect our PM. I had to receive the Prime Minister at Bathinda today but those who had to accompany me tested COVID positive. Hence, I did not go to receive the PM today as I was in close contact with some who tested positive.

We had asked them (PMO) to discontinue the visit due to bad weather conditions and protests. We had no information of his (Prime Minister Modi) sudden route change. There was no security lapse during the PM’s visit. If there were any security lapses, then we will conduct an inquiry. There was no danger to the Prime Minister.”

“Pray to Allah to understand Math”: Muslim teacher tells Hindu students at private school in B’luru

A Muslim School teacher named Sarika Rana who teaches mathematics at the Orchids The International School in BTM Layout in Bangalore has caused controversy when she reportedly told her Hindu pupils to pray to Allah in order to understand the math equation.

Chiru Bhat, a journalist from Karnataka had shared a video in which a small girl narrates how her teacher named Sarika Rana forced them to pray to Allah with hands shaped like a bowl and wipe their face for them to understand the math problem. The teacher was apparently teaching a lesson on ‘Money’.

“Everybody was confused and getting in tests all wrong answers. The next day ma’am made us pray (to) Allah. She made us keep our hands like a bowl and wipe our face with it. Me and few of my classmates were Hindu and kept telling ma’am that we were Hindus and we didn’t want to pray to Allah. But ma’am told that we should pray to Allah and Allah is a better God.”, the girl narrates.

The teacher whose job is to explain the math problem did not help the students and instead told everyone in the classroom to pray to Allah. Despite the Hindu students saying that they do not want to pray to Allah, the teacher has forced them to do so and by scolding them and going on to say that Allah is a better god.

Transcript from Twitter- “Math problem was confusing, we weren’t able to crack that problem. So the teacher told us to Pray to All@h. Despite telling her that we are Hindus and we are not supposed to Pray to All@h, she scolded us & made us make a bowl shape with hands and pray.”

Indian Navy gets two more P-81 maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft

The Indian Navy’s maritime surveillance capability has been augmented after it inducted two more Poseidon 8I maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft to counter China’s aggression in the Indian Ocean region.

The two aircraft, manufactured by US aerospace giant Boeing, arrived in India on December 30, officials said on Tuesday (January 4).

“The Indian Navy’s Boeing P-8I aircraft commenced operations from INS Hansa, Goa with two aircraft arriving on December 30. The aircraft were inducted after fitment of indigenous equipment and flight acceptance trials,” Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal said.

When both planes entered the Indian air space, they were welcomed by a MiG 29K formation, the Navy spokesperson said.

the P-81 maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft were first inducted into the Indian Navy in 2013 and stationed at INS Rajali, Arakkonam.

“The second batch of four additional aircraft will be based at Indian Naval Air Squadron 316, to be commissioned at INS Hansa,” Madhwal said.

The existing fleet of P-8Is was extensively deployed to not only keep track of the movement of Chinese ships and submarines in the Indian Ocean region but was also used in Eastern Ladakh in 2020.

The Indian Navy has also taken on lease two Sea Guardian drones from an American defense major over a year ago and right now it is in the process to procure 30 multi-mission armed Predator drones from the US for the three services at an estimated cost of over USD 3 billion.

The medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) Predator-B drones, manufactured by US defense major General Atomics, are capable of remaining airborne for around 35 hours and can hunt down targets at land and sea.

Also known as MQ-9 Reaper, can be deployed on a range of missions including surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and destroying enemy targets.
