Temple priest appointed by DMK Govt violates Agama rules at Chennai Sivan Temple

The temple priest identified as Giridharan at the Karaneeswarar Temple in Saidapet, Chennai who was newly appointed under the DMK government’s ‘All Castes Can Become Priests’ scheme, performed pooja in violation of the Agama rules.

On August 14, after the completion of the Arthajama pujas at the Sivasubramaniyar shrine in the temple, the newly appointed temple priest by the DMK government performed deeparathana (aarti) at the behest of the HR&CE department officials of the temple.

The Sivachariyars have now risen in protest against the DMK government’s anti-Hindu move to disturb temple customs in order to peddle their political ideology.

Saminathan, Chennai district coordinator of the Tamil Nadu Sivacharyas Social Welfare Association, was quoted saying in a report by Tamil daily that the Sivachariyars undergo rigorous training from a young age at patashalas  away from their home families. “We’ve been studying Veda mantras and Agamas for years to get a livelihood. But the government’s actions has robbed us of our livelihood. We don’t even get a job or seat in government institution even if we get 90%”

He said that the government is trying to decimate the Sivachariyar community by bringing in people from other communities as priests in age old traditional temples.

Many Sivachariyars who are a miniscule minority in Tamil Nadu have alleged that the DMK government’s move would serve as a death blow to Hindu faith.

The temple authorities had reportedly responded to the allegations of Agama rule violation saying that the Sivachariyars are levelling false allegations as they did not like the new priest.

After the Taliban captured the Afghan capital of Kabul, Pakistan’s Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari took to Twitter and mocked the United States by saying that the US is getting out of Kabul just as it did from Saigon on 29 April 1975.

In her tweet, the so-called human rights activist who has done nothing when Hindu, Sikh, and Christain girls are raped and converted to Islam said, “Saigon, Vietnam and Kabul, Afghanistan,”.

Responding to her tweet Author and a leading expert on expert on military affairs in South Asia, and the politics of Islam Ayesha Siddiqa said, “While celebrating American defeat have you thought about women in Afghanistan? Taliban stopped girls from going to college in Mazar-e-Sharif. Taliban have entered Kabul but no one is celebrating except you. Haven’t you educated your daughter or would you like to move to Kabul?”

The Mazari took a potshot at President Ashraf Ghani and Vice President Amrullah Saleh and accused them of abandoning the Afghan people.

Mazari said, “Truly tragic to see the long-suffering Afghan people abandoned by President Ghani & others like Amrullah Saleh – both scuttle into hiding. Doesn’t really matter where they have disappeared or bolted to – what’s important is ldrshp abandoned their ppl in midst of crisis. Shameful!,”.

However, she conveniently forgot the role of the Pakistan Army who ran the operations and logistics for the Taliban and there are reports of Pakistani officers leading from the front to guide the Mujahideen.

Exactly four months after US announced its withdrawal from Afghanistan, Taliban enters Kabul

taliban kabul afghanistan

As India celebrated its 75th Independence day on Sunday (August 15), the dreaded Islamic terror group, the Taliban entered Kabul without any resistance after President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country to avoid bloodshed.

Ghani said, “If left unchecked, countless patriots would be martyred and the city of Kabul would be devastated, resulting in a major humanitarian catastrophe in the six-million-strong city.”

Taking to Facebook, Ghani asserted that he faced a “hard choice” between the “armed Taliban” or “leaving the dear country”. He also said, “The Taliban have won with the judgement of their swords and guns, and are now responsible for the honour, property and self-preservation of their countrymen.”

Though there are still many provinces of the war-torn country that are not under the control of the Taliban, however, by getting control of Kabul, the dream of converting Afghanistan into an Islamic emirate has now been realised two decades after the invasion by the United States.

The militant group now sits comfortably in the presidential palace, and has said it plans to soon declare a new “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”

No one expected Kabul to fall this quickly because a US intelligence assessment had said that it would take ninety days for the Taliban to get to Kabul. Now this victory has shocked NATO allies and it is clear that US President Joe Biden’s administration was blindsided by the Taliban’s advance.

Analysts also compared the withdrawal of US troops in Afghanistan to the American war in Vietnam.

The bitter memories of the Saigon retreat were in full display as U.S. military helicopters were seen ferrying passengers from the U.S. embassy and the lowering of the American flag meant that the twenty-year-old war on terror is now over.

However, it is the common Afghans who supported America who are now lined up at the airport, desperately trying to get out of the country as the Taliban bays for their blood.

On April 14, 2021, President Joe Biden announced the complete withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, and without informing the Afghan government, the Bagram airbase was abandoned. After that, it took just four months for the Taliban to capture Kabul with technical support from Pakistan.

Last Hindu of Kabul, Pandit Rajesh Kumar of Rattan Nath Temple, refuses to leave amid Taliban takeover

hindu kabul afghanistan

As the Afghanistan government of Ashraf Ghani capitulated to the Taliban on Sunday (August 15), one Hindu priest whose family has been in charge of the Rattan Nath temple has refused to be evacuated from Kabul.

Pandit Rajesh Kumar, the priest of Rattan Nath Temple in Kabul said, “Some Hindus have urged me to leave Kabul and offered to arrange for my travel and stay.”

“But my ancestors served this Mandir for hundreds of years. I will not abandon it. If Taliban kills me, I consider it my Seva”, he said.

Afghanistan was once home to lakhs of Hindus and Sikhs who lived in peace and harmony, but now the Taliban which has declared Afghanistan an emirate will impose Sharia law. It has said it will demand Jizya from any non-Muslim minority who stays in the country.

SDPI in Tamil Nadu welcomes Taliban takeover of Afghanistan

The Tamil Nadu unit of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has welcomed the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

In a statement, the Islamic outfit’s state general secretary ASA Umar Farooq said that ‘Taliban isn’t a bad word’ and that it means only students.

He said that Afghanistan has now come under the rule of ‘students’ which ought to be welcomed.

Who are the Taliban?

Taliban is an Islamic fundamentalism and terrorist organization largely founded by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in 1994. The ISI uses the Taliban to establish a regime in Afghanistan which would be favourable to Pakistan.

The Taliban is known for effecting a cultural genocide by seeking to establish puritan Islamic rule through harsh enforcement of the medieval Sharia law. Under their rule, all forms of recreation activities like music, cinema, sports, etc are banned and people do not have fundamental rights. Women are forbidden from schooling and have to cover their body from head to toe in burqa. They are used as sex slaves by the Taliban men.

Tensions prevailed in the town of Puttur in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday August 15 as workers of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) obstructed a chariot procession during Independence Day celebrations organized by the Kabaka gram panchayat.

Instructions had been given to every gram panchayat to take out Independence Day chariots on behalf of the government. Accordingly, the Kabaka gram panchayat had made necessary arrangements for a vehicle to hold a procession in the town. When the President of the panchayat and Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) were about to flag off the vehicle, members of the SDPI objected to the photograph of freedom fighter VD Savarkar being displayed on the vehicle. Furthermore, the SDPI workers insisted on displaying the photo of Tipu Sultan, according to sources.

A verbal argument ensued between the SDPI workers and the organisers.

When the argument escalated into a fist fight, the local police arrived on the scene and dispersed the SDPI activists, bringing the situation under control.

SDPI a political arm of PFI

The SDPI is a political outfit of the Popular Front of India (PFI), a notorious extremist Islamic organisation, which has major branches across the nation apart from being mainly active in the states of Karnataka and Kerala. Members of the PFI have been earlier accused and investigated for their alleged involvement in connection with terrorist activities.

Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor visited Kabaka gram panchayat after coming to know about the incident. He condemned the act of the SDPI workers and instructed the police to arrest them immediately.

‘”Of late, communal forces are active in Kabaka as most of them have contact with Kerala organizations. They are involved in disturbing the harmony of society. The act of obstructing the movement of Independence Day Chariot is condemnable. There is a clear hand of certain organizations of Kerala behind this act. The government has to take this matter seriously,” Matandoor said.

“Investigation of this incident needs to be handed over to the NIA and the vested interests behind the act should be brought to light. We will not give the opportunity to turn Kabaka into another Kashmir,” he said.

MLA Matandoor said that local police are informed of the incident and the same will be brought to the notice of the home minister.

Police arrest three in connection with incident

Later in the day, the police arrested three people in connection with the incident.

The arrested accused have been identified as K Aziz (43), a resident of Vidyapura, Kabaka, Shamir (40), a resident of Mura, Kabaka, and Abdul Rehman (34), a resident of Kodipady village.

They have been arrested on charges of obstruction of official duty of government servants and under others sections of the IPC.

According to eyewitnesses on the scene, the accused Aziz, Naushad, Shamir, Haris, Addu, Thousif, Shafi and others, allegedly violating the Covid-19 guidelines, desisted from celebrating Independence Day and caused damage to the photograph of Bharat Mata and public property.

Bengaluru man in trouble after buying used car which was involved in murder case

Bengaluru used car

Purchasing a used 2013-made Toyota Fortuner for ₹10.2 lakhs from a city-based used car dealer has landed a Bengaluru man in trouble.

In February of this year, the Udupi district police informed the car’s owner, 39-year old R Rajkumar, that the car he was driving was involved in a murder case reported on February 10, 2020 in Hiriyadka police station limits.

According to the police, six men, including a businessman from Hiriyadka, were accused of murdering Vashista Yadav, a Mumbai-based businessman. The accused had taken Yadav to a desolate place in Hiriyadka in the Hiriyadka businessman’s Toyota Fortuner and had murdered him.

The court later directed the car to be released to the current owner on the condition that it not be sold or rented to any other third party until the trial was over.

Rajkumar, aghast at the turn of events, reached out to the dealer who had sold him the used SUV. The dealer then promised Rajkumar that he would repay the amount that had paid to him.

However, after the dealer failed to repay the amount, Rajkumar had filed a complaint with the RT Nagar Police.

Andhra Govt issues order to identify SC and Christian population following NCSC’s notice over large scale Christian conversions among SCs

Following the notice issued by National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh seeking an ‘action taken’ report in the matter of large scale Christian conversions happening amongst the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has ordered to survey the SC and Christian population.

The order dated 12th August 2021 issued by the Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, asks Assistant Social Welfare Officers allocated to different mandals of Ananthapuramu district to conduct field surveys furnish the following information:

1. SC & Christian Population at Municipality and Mandal Wise

2. Number of Churches in each Municipality/Mandal

3. Visit SC colonies and observe if they are practicing Hinduism or Christianity

The order asks to submit the details within 5 days of the notification.

The NCSC took cognizance following a complaint made by the SC ST Rights Forum, a non-profit legal activism organization working in the area of Dalit rights, a copy of which was accessed by The Commune.

In its complaint, the organization had said that large scale religious conversions are leading to social strife, law and order issues and families getting torn apart. It said that the situation is such that the term ‘SC’ and ‘Christians’ have become synonymous. Citing the replies to an RTI query about the selection of beneficiaries for the Andhra government’s scheme ‘Chandranna Christmas Kanuka’, the complaint said that the government officials in Andhra had replied that they treat the entire SC population as Christians while the scheme is meant only for Christians.

The complaint also pointed to the anomaly in the demographic data of number of Christians in the state based on the report titled  “What happened to the Christians of Andhra Pradesh?” brought out by the Centre for Policy Studies.

The data from the report shows a sharp decline in those who declared their religion as Christianity between 1971 and 2011.

The complaint observed that those practicing Christianity are obtaining Hindu caste certificates to take advantage of the reservation benefits. It also said that Christian evangelists indulge in aggressive proselytization and sow the seeds of secessionism by making the converts swear allegiance to extra-constitutional and extra-territorial religious heads.
