Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar called this murder a “very tragic incident”, and the CM of Punjab has summoned a report from the inspector general of police and ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.

“Every aspect of the incident should be investigated and a report should be submitted. Action should be taken against those who take the law into their own hands,” the chief minister said.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that he has directed the Gujranwala regional police officer to reach the location immediately and “The Sialkot DPO is present on the spot. All aspects of the incident should be investigated,” the IGP said.

The mob attacked the Sri Lankan factory manager based on a false accusation of blasphemy to justify the murder. In Pakistan, one can be killed or lynched because of the blasphemy laws, and often minorities such as Hindus and Christians are an easy target to settle disputes in the name of Islam.

Kerala: Two CPI-M comrades arrested for circulating nude video of fellow woman cadre

Police in Kerala have arrested 39-year-old Chumathra Elimannil Saji who is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), for circulating a nude video of a female CPI(M) member online.

He has now been booked under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and 11 others have been named in the case who is absconding.

The people who have been named in the complaint are CPI(M) branch secretary CC Sajimon and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) leader Nasar. As per Kerala Police, these two Communist leaders stripped the woman and took her nude photos and shared them on social media platforms.

According to the victim, this incident took place in May 2021 and the two prime accused allegedly took her in a car and committed the assault.

Sajimon and Nasar have been booked under Section 354 a (Sexual harassment), 354 b (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), and 294 (obscene acts) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 501 (Printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory) of the Indian Penal Code and 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act.

The victim alleged that the two accused gave her sedative-laced drinks and sexually assaulted her. Later they demanded Rs. 2 lakh, and if she failed to pay, they threatened to circulate the video on social media.

Sajimon was charged with sexual abuse on November 28. India TV News quoted one M. Krishnanunni, social activist and writer from Kozhikode, saying, “The CPM has been advocating woman’s rights and gender equality, and these are all farce. They are putting such abusers in key posts, and the party branch secretary is a key post for a ruling political party as he will have influence in a local police station and will also influence key decisions to be taken by the Police. The party knew that he was an abuser and had relegated him to a local committee member. Why did they give him a post as branch secretary even after this? This means he is a person who is close to party leadership.”

There are also allegations against the Police for not taking swift action as the accused belong to the ruling CPI(M) and were allegedly hiding in CPI(M) regional committee office. The Police only sprung into action after receiving severe criticism over the delay.

As per another incident, Sajimon was accused in another sexual abuse case wherein he had impregnated a married woman and later tried to discredit the DNA test report by using his political influence.

If justice has been delayed due to political pressure, to add insult to injury, the victim has been suspended by CPI(M) for filing a complaint against the party leader.

According to a report in Mathrubhumi, the woman worker has been suspended pending investigation on the basis of a complaint filed by the Mahila Association which is ironic as the party has also claimed that they have not received any complaint regarding sexual harassment.

However, If the complaint is proved to be genuine, CPM area secretary Francis V Antony said action will be taken against the guilty after consulting senior leaders.

DMK Minister edits Lord Ganesha pic out of photo with CM; gets exposed on social media

A picture of DMK MLA and Minister of School Education, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi honouring the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin with a shawl is being shared across social media platforms. The reason however, is not only to show the incident.

Shared across social media, the photo has two versions. In the one shared by him, there is nothing on the wall behind them. But, in another version, there is a photo of Lord Ganesha behind where the Minister and the Chief Minister are standing. The photo was found to be edited, after the reflection of the Ganesha alone was found on the photo shared.

Many have questioned why the double standard and why a faith can’t be accepted as faith. Check out the image here:

May be an image of 6 people and people standing

This deliberate editing out of Ganesha picture is now being called out on social media. Here are some reaction:

Villagers in DMK Min Senthil Balaji’s district suffer without proper burial facilities

In the Melaveliyoor village, Karur district, there is no proper roadways or graveyard/cemetery facilities because of which the residents of this village are forced to take the bodies of their relatives through a path where water levels are knee-deep.

Melaveliyoor is a village in the Kalladai panchayat of Tokamalai in the Karur district. Towards the East of the village, there are more than 60 housing structures that are without appropriate facilities. It is being said that although the villagers have been requesting the government for proper burial facilities, the government has taken no action till date.

Bodies are being cremated by the residents near the cemetery lake In this situation, the recent rains have flooded the fields and many lands near the cemetery in the Panchayat. As the water did not recede, the public were forced to carry the bodies of their relatives along water clogged pathways.

Senthil Kumar, a resident of the village who works as a lawyer said, “Villagers cremate bodies near the Kalladai lake . The overflow from this lake enters the Aathuvari canal when there are heavy rains. It has been raining heavily in this region for many years. But, there is no flyover to carry bodies over.”

“A private landowner is refusing to allow the bodies of the dead to be  taken for cremation through his farmland. Since people from two different communities live in this village, both communities don’t have proper facilities to bury their dead. The government should take necessary steps to build a common crematorium for the 2 communities here and provide all the basic amenities required for the people,” he added.

The Parliament’s Winter session is currently happening and updates keep coming in from time to time. Tamil Puthandu is on Chithirai 1 and not Thai 1 as claimed by Dravidian dimwits

tamil new year puthandu dmk

All the festivals that we celebrate are part of the ancient knowledge and tradition handed over to us by our ancestors. They also signify the rich cultural heritage of this land.

Puthaandu/Tamil New Year marks the first day of the first month (Chithirai) of the Hindu Tamil calendar that is based on the solar cycle. While certain politicians and ideologues may try to distort this fact, there is enough evidence in ancient Tamil literature that the first day of the Chithirai month marks the beginning of a new year.

“திண்ணிலை மருப்பின் ஆடு தலையாக விண்ணூர்பு திரிதரும் வீங்கு செலல் மண்டிலம்”

“Thinnilai Marruppin Aadu Thalaiyaaga Vinnurpu Thiritharum Veengu Sella Mandilam”

The above quote by Nakkeerar, a famous Tamil poet of the Sangam age, notes that the world runs with the goat (Mesha rasi / Aries) as the first sign.

Not only in this Sangam song, many ancient Tamil songs that are about the astronomical predictions and changes in position of planets and starts.

Kudalur Kizhar is another poet of the Sangam era whose poems are part of the Kurunthogai (166, 167, 214) and Purananuru (229). In the poem in Purananuru, where he predicts the death of Chera ruler Yanaikatchei Mantharanj Cheral Irumborai (62-42 BC), he mentions Chithirai month and Mesha rasi.

In essence, the first month of the year is the month of Chithirai during spring when the Sun enters Mesha (Aries) zodiac sign. The year ends with the month of Panguni when the sun comes up in Pisces. This is the solar calendar that is followed across the country while there are many communities in different states that follows the lunar calendar.

The commencement of the new year is celebrated as Vishu in Kerala, Rongali Bihu in Assam, Pohela Boisakh in Bengal, Bishuva Sankranti in Odisha, Jud Sheetal in parts of Bihar, etc. Not just in India, even countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Bali, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Thailand, etc also celebrate this festival.

So, Puthandu is not a day that can be changed to the whims and fancies of a bunch of politicians and their stooges to peddle their nonsensical agenda. No matter how hard the inimical forces might try to delink Hinduism with Tamil culture, they will fail miserably.

Sri Lanka may end up in Chinese hands like Uganda: Former Sri Lanka Army Commander warns

Sarath Fonseka, Sri Lanka’s former Army Commander, has warned that Sri Lanka which has fallen into China’s debt trap would end up like Uganda, which had to give away their only international airport to China.

Fonseka, who led Sri Lanka’s three-decade long civil war against Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam rebels to victory in 2009, said this in a Facebook post titled “Sri Lanka is being engulfed in Chinese debt trap that destroyed Uganda”.

Drawing a parallel between Uganda’s airport and Chinese-funded new airport built in Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka, he added that going beyond the country’s foreign diplomacy, it has been made a slave of one camp and also have worked to achieve political and military ambitions of another state, and thereby let the country lose it’s integrity and sovereignty.

“Just as what happened during the Rajapaksa’s regime, the corrupt political leaders of Uganda, ignoring the national plan and priorities, had gone on with the constructions with commercial loans at high interest rates that attract commissions,” alleged Field Marshal Fonseka.

“Instead of developing the Colombo Harbour, Hambantota harbour which was not so important project, is now owned by China and it is being used as a naval corridor in the centre of the Indian Ocean,” the former military leader said.

“Hambantota harbour is being looked at as a Chinese Naval base by India, the US and other Quad countries. This is a serious threat to Sri Lanka’s security. We would be able to see the result of these idiotic decisions during the definite power struggle in the region within next 60 to 80 months.”

The opposition MP, Fonseka, who said with the way how Chinese Ambassador is being reacted like a “mad man for the dirt ship”, the future is very clear and we have to rectify this situation in the future.

Women’s Tennis Association suspends all tournaments in China and Hong Kong over Peng Shuai controversy

In a serious blow to the Communist Party of China, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced an immediate suspension of all tournaments in China, including Hong Kong, in response to Beijing’s silencing of sexual assault allegations made by Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai against a former top Communist Party official.

Peng Shuai accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of coercing her into sex at his home three years ago and once this information got out, Shuai was not seen for two weeks and after a lot of international pressure, in what looked like a staged show, the tennis star was seen in public.

This decision by WTA will have serious ramifications for China which is going to hold the winter Olympics in 2022.

Steve Simon, WTA Chairman & CEO statement reads—-

“When on November 2, 2021, Peng Shuai posted an allegation of sexual assault against a top Chinese government official, the Women’s Tennis Association recognized that Peng Shuai’s message had to be listened to and taken seriously. The players of the WTA, not to mention women around the world, deserve nothing less.

From that moment forward, Peng Shuai demonstrated the importance of speaking out, particularly when it comes to sexual assault, and especially when powerful people are involved. As Peng said in her post, “Even if it is like an egg hitting a rock, or if I am like a moth drawn to the flame, inviting self-destruction, I will tell the truth about you.” She knew the dangers she would face, yet she went public anyway. I admire her strength and courage.

Since then, Peng’s message has been removed from the internet and discussion of this serious issue has been censored in China. Chinese officials have been provided the opportunity to cease this censorship, verifiably prove that Peng is free and able to speak without interference or intimidation, and investigate the allegation of sexual assault in a full, fair and transparent manner.  Unfortunately, the leadership in China has not addressed this very serious issue in any credible way. While we now know where Peng is, I have serious doubts that she is free, safe and not subject to censorship, coercion and intimidation. The WTA has been clear on what is needed here, and we repeat our call for a full and transparent investigation – without censorship – into Peng Shuai’s sexual assault accusation.

None of this is acceptable nor can it become acceptable. If powerful people can suppress the voices of women and sweep allegations of sexual assault under the rug, then the basis on which the WTA was founded – equality for women – would suffer an immense setback. I will not and cannot let that happen to the WTA and its players.

As a result, and with the full support of the WTA Board of Directors, I am announcing the immediate suspension of all WTA tournaments in China, including Hong Kong. In good conscience, I don’t see how I can ask our athletes to compete there when Peng Shuai is not allowed to communicate freely and has seemingly been pressured to contradict her allegation of sexual assault. Given the current state of affairs, I am also greatly concerned about the risks that all of our players and staff could face if we were to hold events in China in 2022.

I have been gratified by the massive amount of international support the WTA has received for its position on this matter. To further protect Peng and many other women throughout the world, it is more urgent than ever for people to speak out. The WTA will do everything possible to protect its players. As we do so, I hope leaders around the world will continue to speak out so justice can be done for Peng, and all women, no matter the financial ramifications.

I very much regret it has come to this point. The tennis communities in China and Hong Kong are full of great people with whom we have worked for many years. They should be proud of their achievements, hospitality and success. However, unless China takes the steps we have asked for, we cannot put our players and staff at risk by holding events in China. China’s leaders have left the WTA with no choice. I remain hopeful that our pleas will be heard and the Chinese authorities will take steps to legitimately address this issue.”

India to fence remainder of the international border with Bangladesh by 2022

On the eve of the 57th raising day of the Border Security Force (BSF) which is one of the elite para-military forces in India, news has emerged that by 2022, India will try to complete the border fencing work in most parts between the north-eastern states and Bangladesh and fortify the security along the international frontiers, the BSF officials said on Tuesday.

The smuggling of narcotics, cattle, and various other contraband, apart from terror infiltrations are still going on along the India-Bangladesh borders, and after the BSF got the mandate to search and seize suspects and suspected vehicles 50km from the international border to a large extent, there has been a reduction on such activities.

As per Tripura frontier Inspector General Susanta Kumar Nath out of the state’s 856 km border with Bangladesh, 67 km of patches still remained unfenced due to various reasons, however, these gaps will be fenced by next year. Four north-eastern states — Tripura (856 km), Meghalaya (443 km), Mizoram (318 km), and Assam (263 km), share a 1,880-km border with Bangladesh.

As per data released by the BSF, the Tripura frontier has apprehended 208 intruders attempting an illegal crossing of the international border which includes 115 Indian Nationals and 93 Bangladeshi against the 131 intruders (85 Indians and 46 Bangladeshis) arrested last year and IG Nath said, drugs and contrabands worth around Rs 13 crore have been seized this year.

In Meghalaya, fencing on a 72.2 km stretch in the Khasi Hills region is yet to start due to various reasons including land acquisition issues and riverine problems. According to BSF Meghalaya Frontier Principal Staff Officer D. Haokip the state shares 444.8 km-long international border with Bangladesh.
