Kollywood’s Woke Dravidianist Brigade Show Support To Anarchist Cockroaches; Twist Protest To Demand NEET Ban

While the cockroach protests at Jantar Mantar are centered around the NEET exam paper leakage and thus a demand for resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the woke Dravidianist celebrities in the Tamil film industry aka Kollywood are going one step ahead to call for the complete ban on NEET.

Dravidianist filmmakers Pa. Ranjith, Vetrimaaran, and Ameer have announced a protest against the NEET examination at Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai, at 3:00 PM on 23 July 2026.

It is funny that Pa Ranjith has posted a few times about the protests against the alleged leakage of question papers while demanding a ban on the exam itself.

And interestingly, he has reposted a photo of Rahul Gandhi, with the caption “The Man Who Stands For The Nation”, who is from the very party that brought in NEET!

In a show of solidarity with the student movement, several Dravidianist supporters from the Tamil film industry are set to join the protest. Student organisations, including CJP, SFI, and DYFI, have been holding continuous demonstrations in Delhi and various parts of Tamil Nadu against the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination.

Today’s protests are being led by the trio of Dravidianists as mentioned above. It is reported that actors like Sathyaraj, Revathi, Andrea Jeremiah are going to be present at the protest site.

Several film stars in the Tamil film industry have been posting their ‘support’ for the anarchy at Jantar Mantar. Here are a few samples.

Andrea Jeremiah, the actor who was recently seen at the exhibition about Auroville which was promoted by anti-Hindu, anti-BJP, Brahmin abuser and self-styled environmentalist Piyush Manush, is said to participate in the NEET ban protest led by Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith.

She has also been posting in support of the cockroaches in Delhi.

Vetrimaaran and Pa Ranjith’s bestie Mari Selvaraj also posted on his X handle against NEET.

Veteran actress Revathi who had posted positively about the Ram Mandir Pran Prathishta was seen sharing stories and posts in support of the cockroaches.

Her stories were of those supporting the protests like Pakistan lover Naseeruddin Shah’s wife Ratna Pathak who was seen sharing videos supporting the rioters.

Revathi also shared a video about Neha Bora, the miraculous hunger striker who looked very healthy even after 23 days of fasting.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who took Pakistan’s position on Kashmir, was also seen supporting the NEET ban protest led by Vetrimaaran and Pa Ranjith.

He also shared stories about the Jantar Mantar cockroach protest.

Actor-turned-MP and DMK ally MNM founder Kamal Haasan wrote a message supporting the cockroaches on his X handle.

Not to be left behind, actress Abhirami posted on her Instagram handle praising the cockroaches.

While the protests in Jantar Mantar began with anger against the question paper leak, it has morphed into multiple things – like restoring Article 370, statehood for Kashmir, talking about Hindu gods and what not.

What began as protests over the alleged NEET question paper leak has now evolved into a broader political campaign to abolish NEET altogether. Instead of focusing solely on identifying those responsible for the alleged malpractice and ensuring accountability, sections of the Tamil film industry have revived their long-standing ideological opposition to the examination. By aligning with organisations leading the Jantar Mantar protests, Kollywood celebrities have expanded the discourse beyond exam irregularities into a wider political movement. Whether this mobilisation is driven primarily by concern for students or by an attempt to advance an existing political agenda remains a question.
