“If you give ₹200 to someone, they are ready to do it. Why should I get down to their level?” Annamalai on the online tirade against him

Annamalai IPS has been the talk of the town for the past two days. He joined the BJP on August 25 at New Delhi, in the presence of National General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao, National Spokesperson Sambit Patra and BJP Tamil Nadu President Dr. L. Murugan. Later that day, he met with BJP National President JP Nadda and other prominent leaders of the BJP including Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya.

His entry into the BJP has rattled the DMK with its henchmen in the media along with its troll army in social media trying to cow down the former IPS officer with memes and comments. However, Annamalai has brushed them off calling them as ‘paid coolies’.

In an interview with Rangaraj Pandey in Chanakayaa Youtube channel, Annamalai said that he doesn’t take the trolls and unwarranted allegations on him seriously.

He said he is up for constructive criticism and would acknowledge any true failure on his part but chooses not spoil the peace of mind by taking the trolls and memes devoid of any logic to heart. He mentioned that he knows how these trolls operate in an organized way as he has seen them during his time as an IPS officer. “We know that these are paid trolls sitting somewhere in Georgia or Ukraine. All these are motivated tweets. If you give ₹200 to someone, they are ready to do it. Why should I get down to their level?”, he says saying that there is no point in reacting to such memes and trolls.

He also says that the online campaigns by Dravidian parties are mostly paid. “The facebook pages and twitter handles are operated from across the world. If you pay someone in Georgia, you will be able to get 66K tweets. If you want to trend #GoBackModi, it can be done. Most of these tweets originate in Georgia. One person will have 10 accounts from 10 IP address and tweet 10 times. If you analyse, you will see that all individual tweets will land up in one IP address. These IP address would belong to Georgia, Ukrain, Peru or Chile.  You give me $100, I will run a campaign against Rangaraj Pandey.”, he said.
