“Wretched Fellow”: TVK's Nanjil Sampath Insults Dhanush

Amid speculation that actor Dhanush could enter politics by launching his own party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Nanjil Sampath has dismissed the possibility of joining such a party, making a derogatory remark against the actor.

In an interview with Junior Vikatan, Sampath was asked whether he would join Dhanush’s party if the actor invited him.

“Can he even run a political party? I am someone who accepted Kalaignar and Amma. Someone like me would never accept a wretched fellow like Dhanush,” Sampath said.

Sampath’s remarks came amid questions about his own position within TVK, following reports that he was considering leaving the party over differences with party leader Aadhav Arjuna.

Denying the reports, Sampath said he had joined TVK at Aadhav Arjuna’s invitation and had no intention of leaving. He explained that he had posted a message expressing his disappointment after his name was left out of the list of 40 star campaigners submitted by TVK to the Election Commission.

“I could not keep quiet about my disappointment. I expressed it. What is wrong with that?” he said, referring to his earlier social media post that included the line, “Let it go, then.”

Sampath also said he wanted to revive the declining tradition of stage Tamil in the age of modern technology and planned to meet TVK chief Vijay to explain his proposals.

Asked whether the entry of MDMK leader Vaiko into the TVK alliance had diminished his standing, Sampath said he suspected Vaiko could have been behind a conspiracy against him. He declared that he would not share a stage with Vaiko, even if Vijay were present, and said he would never face Vaiko again for the rest of his life.

On actor Sivakarthikeyan’s reported political ambitions, Sampath alleged that the actor had become part of a DMK conspiracy to split Vijay’s vote bank, which he claimed stood at 34.92%.
