70 year old farmer submits petition to euthanize him after facing harassment from DMK men

During the weekly public grievance meeting that was held at the Coimbatore Collector’s Office a couple of days back, an old farmer petitioned the Collector to euthanize him as he could not bear with the harassment of DMK men who had grabbed his land.

Kandasamy (70) is a resident of Palladam in Tirupur district and owns 3 acres of agricultural land in Arasur near Sulur in Coimbatore district. The current market value of the native land owned by his family is ₹5 crores. The land was grabbed by several DMK men including a DMK functionary and former DMK MLA from Mettupalayam using fake documents.

He said that he had been trying to retrieve the land from them for 10 years. “In this old age, I can no longer fight to get the land from them. I am also under debt. When I don’t even have the money for survival, I can’t afford to pay court fees. Hence, I petition the government to retrieve and give my land to me or I request the President of India to use his powers and euthanize me.”
