“Were You Crawling Or Slithering Away?” — AIADMK’s EPS Slams Stalin’s Delhi Visit, Says Trip Is To Save Family, Not Tamil Nadu

The political temperature in Tamil Nadu rose sharply as Leader of the Opposition and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for his decision to attend the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting in New Delhi. EPS accused Stalin of putting personal interests above public welfare, suggesting that the visit was not about state concerns, but family-related issues.

Palaniswami highlighted Stalin’s earlier stance, where he had proudly claimed to boycott NITI Aayog meetings, citing the Centre’s alleged neglect of Tamil Nadu. “The puppet king @mkstalin, who once boasted, ‘I am boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting because the central government is neglecting Tamil Nadu,’ is now reportedly flying to Delhi to attend that very NITI Aayog meeting!”

He also implied that the timing of the visit was suspicious, linking it to recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids connected to the TASMAC liquor scam. He mocked, “He who does not go when there is a need for the people of Tamil Nadu, but he rushes off when there is a need for his family! Back then, his father went to Delhi for 2G… Today… TASMAC… Tyagi…  Thambi (younger brother)… Has the white umbrella been summoned again? He’s completely given in… All thanks to the trouble caused by ‘Thambi’ (younger brother)! #Who_Is_That_Thambi.”

In response, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin quipped, “I’m going to Delhi on the 24th to assert Tamil Nadu’s rightful financial claims at the #NITIAayog meeting! Why does this pains the Leader of the Opposition, Palaniswami, who, despite shifting loyalties from Sasikala to Amit Shah, has never outgrown his habit of catching legs under the table? Isn’t it shameful for Palaniswami to speak, who boldly declared there would be no alliance with the BJP, turned into ‘Pulikeshi’ by waving the white flag after just one raid before the words even dried on his tongue and now has the audacity to accuse me of raising the white flag? This hand of Stalin is the hand that holds the red and black flag of the Kazhagham (DMK)! It is the hand lifted by Peraringar himself! The hand that walked holding Kalaignar’s hand!
I will always carry the flag of rights! I will never crawl! Even today, I have approached the Supreme Court to fight for Tamil Nadu’s rightful claims. I will stand firm in my principles! And I will fight and win the financial dues owed to Tamil Nadu!”

In a sharp counterattack to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s criticisms, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) turned up the heat. Referring to Stalin’s sudden decision to attend the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting, EPS said, “For the past three years, you boasted that “Tamil Nadu is being neglected” and refused to attend the #NITIAayog meetings and did not seek the fair financial rights of Tamil Nadu as the Chief Minister. So why are you suddenly attending now? Is it really for Tamil Nadu? Not at all.It’s for your family, isn’t it? Who’s afraid of the raids, Mr @mkstalin that fear is your own reflection in the mirror! Why are you talking to yourself, then? When the CBI raided the upper floors of Arivalayam (DMK headquarters), were you and your father, who had surrendered 63 constituencies under the table crawling? Or slithering away? When in opposition you waved black balloons, and now in power you wave white umbrellas—were you crawling then? Or slithering in?”

He then launched a scathing attack, questioning Stalin’s moral authority, “Which is Stalin’s hand?

  • Stalin’s hand that leaked the FIR in the Anna University case, revealing personal details of the victimized student. 
  • The hand that appointed Jaffer Sadiq, a known international drug mafia leader, as a DMK overseas wing organizer.
  • The hand that protects sexual offenders from Gnanasekaran to Deivaseyal, and the “SIRs” behind them — that’s your hand.
  • In the case of the 10-year-old girl from Anna Nagar, when the High Court itself ordered a CBI probe due to lack of faith in your police, it was your hand that took the case all the way to the Supreme Court in protest — again, your hand.
  • The hand that bartered Tamil Nadu’s rights — from Mekedatu to Mullaperiyar — for electoral alliances? That’s your hand!”

EPS contrasted this with his own actions stating, “When the 7.5% internal reservation was brought in and the Governor refused to sign off, I was the one who, using Article 162 of the Constitution, issued the Government Order and protected Tamil Nadu’s rights! Back then you were cooking up politics at the gates of Raj Bhavan — do you remember? That’s why you have no right to lecture me, someone who walks in the path of the honorable Amma, about state rights. You, who sold out Tamil Nadu’s interests from Katchatheevu to Cauvery, are in no position to talk about state autonomy. If you do, the people will only laugh. We’ll come to all of that later.”

Bringing the focus back to the real issue, EPS asked, “But what was the question I raised? #Who_Is_That_Thambi (younger brother)? What’s the relationship between you and him? They say that the person (brother) is very important to you and your son, why did that brother flee the country after the ED raid? There’s growing public suspicion that you and your family may be connected to the massive looting in TASMAC carried out by “Thambi.” If you have courage, integrity, and honesty—answer that first. Then talk about everything else. I’m fully ready to counter all your twisted narratives. But the people deserve to know the truth! So I ask once again: #Who_Is_That_Thambi? @arivalayam.”
