TN Sunnat Jamaat Files Complaint Against Part-Time Politician Vijay Who Organized Iftar And Went Out Of The Way Wearing Skull Cap To Appease Muslims

The Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamaat, an Islamic organization, has filed a complaint against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president and actor Vijay at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office. The complaint was signed by the organization’s treasurer, Syed Ghous.

According to the complaint, on 7 March 2025, Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam organized an Iftar event, but it was allegedly conducted in violation of the sanctity of a traditional Iftar gathering. The organization stated that Iftar is a solemn and dignified religious occasion, not comparable to public conventions or political meetings.

The complaint alleges that “drunkards and rowdies” who had no connection to the event were present, while devout fasting Muslims were not allowed to attend. Furthermore, it stated that bouncers at the venue attacked and forcibly removed fasting attendees, beating and kicking them out.

Additionally, the organization criticized Vijay for arriving one and a half hours before Iftar, stating that it was inappropriate and against the norms of a traditional Iftar gathering. The organization has urged authorities to take legal action against Vijay for allegedly conducting the event in a way that disrespected religious practices.
