Tamil Nadu: 2 arrested for selling Liquor bottles near Vriddhagiriswarar temple

Police arrested 2 individuals for selling liquor bottles at a hotel that is built on Vriddhagiriswarar temple’s property. The hotel itself is built on the temple’s encroached land.

The SP and a team of Police officers had gone on rounds in Vriddhachalam, Cuddalore district on 16th January. They found that 2 individuals were selling Government TASMAC liquor in the hotel that was built on encroached Vriddhagiriswarar temple lands.

The Police then arrested the owner of the hotel Babu (40), and a worker Pandhalrajan (20), and detained them at the Vriddhachalam Police Station. The liquor bottles that they owned were then impounded and they were put in jail.
