Student writes to Congress MPs about wrongdoings happening in college run by KS Alagiri

A student from Ramanathapuram district has written to Congress MPs to complain about the atrocities happening in the college run by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President KS Alagiri.

Hariharasuthan, son of Arumugam from Ramanathapuram district, had enrolled in a six-month diploma programme at the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Maritime Science And Engineering (PKIMSE) in Chidambaram, Cuddalore District, which is owned by KS Alagiri.

In his letter addressed to the Congress MPs P.Chidambaram, Karthi Chidambaram, Thirunavukkarasu, Manickam Tagore, Jothimani and others he said, “My parents, who work for a daily wage, struggled for a long time to enrol me in K.S. Alagiri’s College. Since the college lacked adequate facilities, the Directorate of Shipping in Mumbai issued a notice and revoked its licence. Even after license getting revoked, the college collected fees from us and issued invalid certificates.”

When the case was taken to court, the Judge ordered the college to refund 50% of the tuition fee paid by the students, which the management did not honour, the student added.

“If the 50% tuition fees are returned to me immediately, it would be useful in providing for the expenses of my cancer-stricken father,”  Ariharasuthan said in his letter.

He ended by urging congress members to take the matter to Rahul Gandhi and ensure that he receives justice.
