A woman from Chennai has raised a complaint to the office of Radio Mirchi, after she heard the 12 pm to 2 pm show of the Radio channel, hosted by RJ Ashwini. This issue was raised on February 3rd, after hearing the noon show that day. The individual had said that at exactly 1:15 pm, the RJ had shared her opinion on two latest political issue, which she alleged was pretty much anti-national.
The RJ had allegedly said that the comments made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament were indeed appropriate. That is, India is in fact a ‘union of states’ and not a single unified country. The RJ also allegedly said that the voices of the people of Tamil Nadu are being suppressed. She had purportedly made the statement in relation with the NEET exam saying, “How are they conducting the NEET exams even after opposition from the people here?”
The listener who had called the Radio Mirchi office lashed out at the blatant propaganda being done on an entertainment channel. She said that it is because of the Central government that people across states including Tamil Nadu are benefitting.
The woman had also asked if this was a Radio channel, a political channel, or a politically biased channel. She also asked that the Radio channel make a public apology on one of the shows, for the statements that the RJ had said. It is to be noted that Radio Mirchi is a national radio channel, with no relation to politics, whatsoever. It is purely an entertainment channel. In addition, this individual has no affiliation to any political organisation or political party, and is just a citizen of India.
