“President Murmu Is A Widow, So She Was Not Invited For Parliament Opening Ceremony” – Udhayanidhi Stalin Makes Offensive Comment

Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin is back in the news for his controversial remarks on President Murmu. Speaking at a recent event, Udhayanidhi Stalin questioned why the government did not invite President Murmu for the opening of the new Parliament building. He said, “Our President, a lady by the name of Draupadi Murmu, was not invited to the opening ceremony. Why? Because she is a widow, because she lost her children, this is Sanatan.”

Netizens criticised that with these words, Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also the son of the sitting Chief Minister, MK Stalin, echoes the hatred for Hinduism and Hindus as espoused by the Dravidian ideology of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government.

A self-proclaimed atheist, Udhayanidhi Stalin also said, “‘I am proud to be a Christian, Sanghis will burn after learning this” at a Christmas event in 2022.

This is not the first time members of the DMK have spoken in poor taste about Hindus and Hinduism. Just a few months ago, Dharmapuri MP, Senthil Kumar said “Sanatana forces are our biggest enemies. Sanatana forces are those that cannot be changed, such as caste, women’s oppression, Varnashrama Dharmam, and others. Certain practices in Sanatana Dharma, such as Sati, have been eradicated. However, we still have a lot of work to do with regard to the caste Varnashrama system.”

DMK MP A Raja also has made several speeches against Hindus and Hinduism saying Sanatan Dharma weakens the constitutional.

DMK Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu’s son and Mannargudi MLA TRB Rajaa who is the Tamil Nadu Industries Minister as well as the secretary of DMK’s IT Wing is known for peddling hate against Hindus particularly Brahmins and also north-Indians.
