A total of 234 polling booths were set up in 5 Assembly constituencies in Karaikal for the Puducherry Assembly elections held on April 6.
Of these, 5 polling booths were set up as “pink polling booths” managed entirely by female staff. Varichikudi Government High School, Government Primary School at Karaikkal Oppillamaniar Kovil Street, Karaikal Thousand Vyshyar Thirumana Mandapam, Niravi Husainiya Government High School were the booths that were managed by female polling staff.
The District Collector visited the polling booth set up Karaikal Thousand Vyshyar Thirumana Mandapam and appreciated the efforts to set up the pink polling booths.
