‘Periyarist’ goons vandalize Highways Department route board as it did not have EVR’s name

Goons belonging to Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam vandalized a route board of the Highways Department in Chennai as it did not have E.V. Ramaswamy Naicker’s name on it.

Originally called the Poonamallee High Road, it was renamed as EVR Periyar Salai during the AIADMK regime of D. M.G. Ramachandran. This road has been renamed as ‘Grand Western Trunk Road’ by the Tamil Nadu government.

DMK chief MK Stalin in a tweet said “Where did the caretaker government get its order to change the EVR Periyar Salai to Grand Western Trunk Road?” MDMK chief Vaiko too condemned the name change.

This board has now been smeared with black paint by goons belonging to the Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam.
