Pon. Pandiyan is a judge at the Salem 4th Criminal Arbitration Judicial Magistrate. His office assistant identified as Prakash was recently transferred.
On Tuesday (March 1), Judge Pon. Pandian had come to the Salem Consolidated Court complex when Prakash, who was there at the time, tried to stab him. Those present arrested Prakash and handed him over to the police.
During the police investigation, it was stated that Judge Pon. Pandian was the reason for Prakash’s transfer. This enraged Prakash who is said to have planned to assassinate the judge. The incident in which a civil servant tried to assassinate a judge in broad daylight has come as a shock.
