Madras HC directs HR&CE to reclaim the properties of 2 temples and file a report

There are almost 2000 acres of land worth ₹60,000 crores that belongs to the Thiruporur Kandhaswamy Temple and the Mamallapuram Aalavandhan Nayakar Charity Temple and Trust. 20 plus groups have been trying to encroach or snatch the property and land belonging to these two temples.

Advocate Jagannath has pursued a petition in the High Court, asking it to direct the Commissioner of the HR&CE department to measure the lands belonging to these two temples, and file a report on the same, that is to be submitted to the Madras High Court.

The Madras High Court has now ordered the HR&CE Department to file a report on the recovery of property belonging to the Thiruporur Kandasamy Temple and Alavanthan Temples .

They had petitioned that the Madras High Court should direct the temple officers to register the lands belonging to the temple, in the name of the temple, and that the Head of the Registry should be told that these lands should not be registered in any other’s name. The High Court that heard this case, directed that property belonging to the Thiruporur Kandhaswamy temple and Mamallapuram Aalavandhan temple should not be registered to anyone else, until the enquiry is completed and a report is filed.
