“Legal Action Will Be Taken”: TVK Minister Rajmohan Warns Media Over “False Reports” On Joseph Vijay Aide Vishnu Reddy

TVK Education Minister Rajmohan on Monday warned television channels and news outlets of legal action over what he described as “false” and “baseless” reports concerning Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and his advisor Vishnu Reddy.

Speaking in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on 7 September 2026, Rajmohan accused opposition members of repeatedly making statements that were contrary to facts and claimed that some of their allegations had been “debunked” by the Chief Minister.

He said, “Honorable Deputy Speaker, our MLA pointed out that opposition members were repeatedly making statements contrary to the facts—claims that were effectively debunked by our Chief Minister today. For instance, they alleged that members of the Indian Union Muslim League had said something they never actually said; the entire world now knows that claim was false. Similarly, it is unacceptable to make a full-time occupation of spreading baseless, untruthful information about Mr. Vishnu, an advisor to our respected Chief Minister, by dragging his name and family into the narrative. If certain television channels or news outlets act as mouthpieces for such elements, twisting facts and persistently publishing false reports, I wish to state that legal action will be taken against them.”

He specifically defended Vishnu Reddy, an advisor to Vijay, and objected to what he described as attempts to drag Vishnu and his family into allegations concerning the government.
