A social media creator known by the handle @behur_jerry has faced widespread backlash after a video surfaced in which he allegedly threatened to demolish the Murugan temple at Thirupparankundram, rejected the court’s authority over the Deepam issue, and declared that minorities would dominate Tamil Nadu.
In the viral video, he is heard making inflammatory remarks about the hill’s identity, the temple and the lighting of the Deepam.
“Friends, what I want to tell you is that the Thirupparankundram hill will not be called so from now on. It is Sikandar Hill only. From now, it is Sikandar Hill only. We will destroy the Murugan temple over there. We will knock it down. That hill is for Muslims only. It is solely for Muslims. We will not let you light the Deepam there. It does not matter what the court says. GS Swaminathan or whoever he is, it doesn’t matter what that person says, you cannot light the deepam on the hill. It is simply impossible to light a lamp on that mountain. It cannot be done—not now, not ever, and it never will be possible. We will destroy all Hindu temples. From now onwards, minorities will dominate Tamil Nadu. No one can stop that from happening.”
The remarks triggered outrage on social media, with users calling on the Tamil Nadu Police and the Cyber Crime Cell to take action over the alleged threats and statements targeting Hindu religious institutions.
The controversy comes amid the ongoing dispute surrounding the lighting of the Karthigai Deepam at Thirupparankundram, which has become a flashpoint for religious and political tensions in Tamil Nadu.
Apology Video Draws Further Criticism
Following the backlash, Behur Jerry released an apology video in which he appeared to apologise to the RSS, Hindu Munnani, Hindus, Arjun Sampath and others.
However, the manner in which the apology was delivered appeared mocking to some viewers, rather than conveying clear remorse. He said he would not speak in that manner again, but his delivery left viewers questioning whether the apology was sincere.

The video has therefore sparked a second round of criticism, with the controversy now extending beyond his original remarks to the manner in which he responded to the outrage.
The remarks and the subsequent apology have fuelled demands for police intervention. Any action taken by the authorities, however, would need to be established through official records.
