K’taka Congress Min Priyank Kharge Targets Writer Who Shared Video Of RS Chairman Schooling Congress MP Venugopal On Prez & VP Absence At Parliament Opening

The Congress and other Opposition parties have been questioning the Narendra Modi government on why the President of India was not invited for inauguration of the Parliament. The same issue was raised by Congress MP KC Venugopal in the Rajya Sabha where he went on an emotional outburst seeming to be concerned about the respect accorded to President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar.

“Two major events happened in last 1 month. One is the inauguration of this Parliament building. We all were expecting Hon’ble President and Hon’ble Vice President will be there. You are the custodian of this Rajya Sabha sir! You are the Chair. It is an insult to us, Rajya Sabha members that our Chairman is not there. Our Chairman is not there in that time. Our President of India is not there in that time.“, Congress MP KC Venugopal said.

The Vice President of India responded saying that the President and the Vice President have been accorded the highest respect in this country and that one can’t trade ignorance of others.

The Vice President who had been presiding over the session shut up the Congress member by saying, “Hon’ble members we cannot trade on deficiencies and ignorance of others. Let me make it very clear, the Vice President and the Honourable President have been accorded the highest respect in the country. There has been no constitutional transgression. The position of the Vice President or the Chairman has to be kept at the level as expected and that was done and that is what you have seen in the last 3 days also”.

Turning to Venugopal, he said, “I would appeal to you, as a member of the leading opposition party, you must do your homework, find out, it doesn’t send a good message when you bring in the Hon’ble President also. Read the constitution and you will find the role has been defined categorically. Leave it at that. I can assure you, your Chairman will not allow anyone to denude his power and therefore there has been no denudation. Get over this perception. Point out a single article of the Constitution which according to you has been transgressed.” 

He added, “Hon’ble members, the first amendment of the Indian Constitution, please recall it – there was a provision by the framers of the Constitution that the Hon’ble President will address every session of Parliament. That was the original prescription of the Constitution. And the amendment was “once a year”. Hon’ble President has to actually act in accord with the Constitution.”

A video of this exchange was shared by Chakravarty Sulibele, a renowned writer from Karnataka.

Columnist Chakravarty Sulibele accused Congress member KC Venugopal of having read a “Congress troll’s message” and that he tried to present it emotionally in the Parliament.

Priyank Kharge replied to this post saying “Another attempt to hit & run! Both you and the Chair failed to grasp the issue at hand. It wasn’t about addressing the Parliament but rather why the President of India wasn’t extended an invitation to the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Of course, you can’t answer me on this as it is above your pay grade in your troll hierarchy. Also, Don’t expect you to understand these issues as the chief spin doctor from WhatsApp university. BTW, @astitvam  , I think you need to worry about why you concealed the fact that Chaitra Kundapura and her associates cheated Govind Babu Poojary of crores by promising him a BJP assembly ticket.”

Chakravarthy Sulibele replied to Priyank Kharge stating, “Oh dear you have come again? Last time you had started the conversation and ran away. Absolutely Hit and RUN! You people are repeatedly being humiliated and still show your face. Do you remember Justice Narasimha and Justice Maheshwari who had thrashed the PIL that you dot parties took to the SC? Here is the link, Enjoy” and shared the link to the court order. He added, “Everyone knows what congress doing in Karnataka! Filed an FIR on me for a FB comment and now on Vikram Hegde. If the same is extended to u and ur team will end up finishing ur five years in police stations.. And more over you took Puneeth Kerehalli to custody under Goonda act and do you remember how the honourable court slammed the government? If you have not seen the copy then sharing it for you.. BTW Puneeth is free now..”

Priyank Kharge does not probably remember that it was his own party that opposed the election of President Draupadi Murmu and nominated Yashwant Sinha.
