Former IAS officer Dr. Santhosh Babu who joined actor-politician Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam has quit the party citing personal reasons.
In a tweet, Santhosh Babu said that he is resigning from the post and primary membership of the party due to personal reasons and thanked Kamal Haasan and team.
Dear friends, Good afternoon! It’s with a heavy heart that I am informing you that I am resigning my post and membership from Makkal Needhi Maiam. My decision is due to personal reasons. I thank Kamal Sir and our team for their affection and friendship.

Earlier, Dr. Mahendran who was the Vice President of Makkal Needhi Maiam quit the party citing differences with Kamal and his way of running the party. Many other leaders like Ponraj, CK Kumaravel too have resigned from their posts.
