Is Congress’s Vijayadharani Joining The BJP?

In the upcoming political development in Tamil Nadu, it is being reported that Congress MLA Vijayadharani from Vilavankode, Kanyakumari district, is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Tirupur in the coming week.

Serving as the MLA for the third term, Vijayadharani, who holds significant positions in the Congress, including Chief Whip in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress, has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the party leadership.

After unsuccessful attempts to secure a seat in the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha by-election, she is said to be making the switch to BJP, with speculation arising due to her absence from active politics.

Sources told Polimer News that talks are ongoing to bring Vijayadharani to the BJP side. There are also reports that 3 Congress members will be joining the BJP in the presence of the Prime Minister. It is rumoured that Vijayadharani is one of the three people in question and the other two are Congress MLAs.

Sources in the BJP also suggest that talks are ongoing with ADMK members as well to bring them into the BJP. They will be inducted before 27 February 2024 but they will receive their member cards in the presence of the PM.

The move is expected to be confirmed during Prime Minister Modi’s visit, though Vijayadharani neither confirmed nor denied the reports when questioned.
